After having a spontaneous second round at the Beer Pub Camden Minami Ikebukuro, we moved to Ikebukuro Station West Exit! On November 26th (Thursday), our main event of the day was a "mini year-end party"! We had made a reservation in advance at "Gourmet Sake and Side Dish Aomori-ya" near Ikebukuro Station West Exit for our second stop. When we entered at 7 pm, we found that the restaurant was quite spacious and had a new atmosphere as it had just opened in August. The place was moderately busy with customers. We started with a 1-hour all-you-can-drink deal for 790 yen (tax included) for our mini party! In the end, we were charged a seat fee for 4 people (600 yen + tax), so we didn't feel like we got much of a discount, which was a bit disappointing haha. The bill didn't end up being too high, though haha. Of course, we started with "Rokkon" Junmai Onyx sake! The second sake we had was the "Inamuraya" special Junmai! We might have had more drinks, but I don't remember well. However, the hour passed by quickly, so it was a bit difficult to drink much while chatting haha. After the initial complimentary soup (included in the seat fee of 600 yen), we ordered a la carte dishes! We had dishes like "Smoked Mackerel Potato Salad" (750 yen + tax), "Monkfish Liver" (blurred photo, 590 yen + tax), and "Clam Soup Roll" (690 yen + tax) to go with the sake. Then, we had the main dish, a "Horse Sashimi 4 Variety Plate" (featuring lean meat, marbled meat, two-year-old, and mane cuts, 1800 yen + tax) and "Tuna Toro" (forgot to take a photo). Both were delicious and worth the price. Finally, we ended with "Suzuki Fish with Oyster Sauce" (750 yen + tax)! We ate and drank for a little over 2 hours, spending about 3500 yen per person. Personally, I would have liked to pay extra and try premium sake like Tatenokawa. Overall, I would rate it 3.4 out of 5 stars!

Had a long-awaited drinking session in Ikebukuro with friends♪ This time, we made a reservation through Tabelog and visited Aomori-ya. We chose the all-you-can-drink course, and the selection of sake was amazing. Can you believe that they had Tatsuriki and Toyobijin included in the all-you-can-drink option (*≧∀≦*) It was 990 yen for 1 hour, and an extension for another hour was 1,490 yen. Of course, we extended it to 2 hours and had a great time. Personally, I love Hassen♪ I'm happy that I could enjoy a variety of drinks♪ The food was Aomori Hassen, which was a delightful dish on its own. The appetizer was a clear soup with clam. Other dishes included grilled dried squid, rice cooked with squid liver, fresh bean sprouts from Owani Onsen, and baked clams with Shimoji miso. Everything was delicious and satisfying. I used the counter seat and found it comfortable with ample space and cozy chairs. The dishes were unique and intriguing, making me want to try everything! The flavors were exceptional and left a lasting impression. The only thing to note is that being from Tohoku, I may find some dishes a bit too strong in flavor.

The alcohol is delicious, but the food is expensive and there aren't many options. Also, the staff is not very friendly and there is no service or consideration. They are extremely strict about the time to leave. It's not bad or good, just average. I don't really feel like going again.

The first time I went was because someone who had traveled to Aomori told me, "I can't forget the pickled herring I had back then! You can apparently eat it in Ikebukuro!" Since then, whenever someone asks me where to eat in Ikebukuro (especially if they like sake and fish), I always recommend this place. If there are two of you dining, I think sitting at the counter is best! The grill is nearby and the atmosphere is very nice.
