I visited the restaurant towards the end of August for lunch. Although you can't see in the photos, when I opened the lid of the miso soup, I found a winter melon soup! It had a gentle flavor, like something you would find at a traditional Japanese restaurant, and I was able to enjoy my meal in a cozy atmosphere. The daily special menu for the day was beef cutlet and two fried sardines! The beef cutlet was tender and the sauce was just right! The fried sardines were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a perfect balance. The side dishes were simmered seaweed and bamboo shoot "Wakatake-ni" and a dish of plenty of okara (tofu curds). They were also perfectly seasoned and went well with the rice. After enjoying the delicious meal, I had a coffee and left fully satisfied! Thank you for the wonderful meal today♪

I visited around 1 pm on a holiday afternoon. Located about 100m west from the intersection of Higashioji Street and Kitaiwadani Street on Kyoto Ichijoji Ramen Street, past the well-established ramen shops like Tenten Aru, Yume o Katare, Shinshinte, and Juko Gundan, just before Video One. I entered the shop after watching a group of cute children returning from a walk from the nearby nursery school. There were two customers leaving, and I was seated at the usual calm table in the back of the shop. I usually have a strong and flavorful hot coffee made with dark roasted beans, but today I decided to try their lunch menu for the first time. Shortly after, the master skillfully served the meal. The main dish was a hamburger, and the side dishes included simmered shimeji mushrooms and eggplant, daikon radish and hiro-udo stew, miso soup, white rice, and pickles. All of this for only 800 yen! After the meal, I enjoyed a hot coffee for a total of 900 yen. The side dishes were perfectly seasoned, making the white rice very appetizing. The hamburger was tender and juicy, and the vegetable-packed miso soup was well-balanced. While enjoying the coffee, I listened to the master's stories about Kyoto's streetcars and the old days when Kanebo's factory was in Takano. It was a nostalgic experience to savor delicious home-cooked food and authentic coffee. I was also shown a photo booklet of Kyoto's streetcars and traditional townhouses while listening to the gentle background music of Ryoko Moriyama's singing and music box melodies. I had a relaxing time enjoying a delicious lunch and coffee on a holiday afternoon. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited in the early afternoon on a holiday. The atmosphere was cozy, with taxi drivers and locals leisurely enjoying themselves, and it seemed like smoking was allowed everywhere. In today's world where smoking restrictions are increasing, this is a welcoming place for smokers. I ordered a mixed juice with strawberries that was delicious. My friend had coffee which they also enjoyed. Thank you for the meal.

After eating, I thought about just having a coffee for lunch to adjust the time. I hesitated, but the place was not crowded, so I decided to stay and chat for a while. The café was run by an old lady and had a really nostalgic atmosphere. I forgot to take photos... There was a sign saying smoking was allowed, so it seems like smoking is still okay there.
