I had the Obanzai lunch set (1120 yen). The lunch plate included pickled vegetables (daikon, cucumber, bell pepper), tofu, simmered taro, grilled fish, and pickles, served with rice, red miso soup, tempura (eggplant, pumpkin, shishito pepper, sweet potato), and strawberry milk pudding for dessert. The pickled vegetables were fresh and crunchy with a nice acidity. The simmered taro was cooked just right, comforting and heartwarming. The grilled fish had a subtle saltiness, which I liked. The tempura was crispy and the sweetness of the vegetables came through. Having tempura really added to my satisfaction. However, the atmosphere of the restaurant was disappointing. The noise of kitchen utensils being handled roughly was off-putting, and the cold ambiance made me feel uncomfortable. Even during payment, when I asked if I could pay by card, the response was a blunt "Cash or PayPay only!", which made me tense up. The way the staff treats customers is very important. The food was delicious, but the overall experience left me feeling a bit cold. Delicious, but I might not return after this visit. A bit disappointing.

I was able to enter the restaurant suddenly without a reservation. There were only two other customers inside, so we were able to enjoy our meal quietly. The white miso oden had delicious broth, which I finished completely. The fried tofu with miso paste was also delicious, and I had seconds. Personally, I like fried tofu. The natto tempura was a great dish to go with alcohol. We ordered a few other dishes, and they were all delicious! It was a bit disappointing that the host's service was a bit cold. The food was truly exquisite, but I'm not sure if I would go back again.

On New Year's Eve, I headed to the charcoal-grilled restaurant "Katsuno" in Ponto-cho, run by a friend's husband, which will be closing on the 15th of this month. However, the restaurant was full and there was a long line of people waiting outside. I greeted the owner, Mr. Katsuno, and decided to leave. Due to the New Year, Gion and Ponto-cho were crowded with tourists, making it difficult to move forward. I used my local knowledge to navigate to Kiyamachi and escape the crowd. Although there were some empty restaurants in the Kiyamachi area, they were filled with cigarette smoke, so I decided to walk to the area near Oike and visited the non-smoking restaurant "Nanohana". I took a seat at the counter, ordered a draft beer, and requested the "obanzai set" course menu. The set included various dishes such as grated mountain yam, cucumber, carrot, daikon radish, and seaweed appetizer, followed by dishes like tofu and homemade roast beef. The meal continued with a variety of dishes including grilled red fish, vinegared sea cucumber and cucumber, simmered napa cabbage and pork in sake lees, and tempura assortment. I enjoyed the meal with different types of sake and a vegetable salad. The restaurant was non-smoking, and during the New Year period, a 20% service charge was added to the bill, which totaled over 6,000 yen. It was a refreshing way to end the New Year's Eve.

I stumbled upon this shop standing alone and was just looking for some obanzai to eat. The interior had tables with sunken kotatsu-style seating and a counter. There were spacious private rooms in the back. I chose the obanzai lunch, which came with freshly grilled fish, three types of obanzai, freshly fried tempura, miso soup, rice, and a small dessert. The flavors were satisfying, and the obanzai lunch was very cost-effective. However, the service was a bit rushed and when I ordered the obanzai lunch, the staff asked if I wanted the one with fewer items. It was a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 12:30 on Sunday. There were two groups of customers already there. I ordered the obanzai set for 1030 yen, which was a great deal considering the variety of dishes included. The vegetable tempura was served later and it was freshly fried. The set also included grilled fish, pork and leek, miso soup, pickles, tofu, potato salad, organic brown rice, and soy milk pudding. I was very satisfied with the meal and would love to come back for lunch. The variety of dishes seemed very healthy for the body.

I visited this restaurant in Kyoto at night. The sunken kotatsu tables were unique and the atmosphere inside was cozy. The obanzai dishes were delicious and reasonably priced, so I was very satisfied. I heard that they also have a guesthouse in the back of the restaurant.

I was able to do some sightseeing from Nagoya! We stopped by on a whim without a reservation, but we were warmly welcomed with smiles. The food was delicious, especially the white miso-flavored oden which had a slightly sweet taste, a first experience for me as a Nagoya local (^ ^) It was so delicious that I got lost in eating and forgot to take photos. haha I was happy to receive the dessert as a service at the end ♫ I would love to visit this restaurant again when I go to Kyoto.

Made a reservation for 4 people and visited this place in Kyoto. We wanted to eat obanzai (traditional Kyoto side dishes) and were seated at a sunken kotatsu table after taking off our shoes. The atmosphere was calming. The menu was extensive and we were all indecisive. Every dish had a gentle flavor and was delicious. I would definitely want to visit again if I have the chance.

I came to Kyoto for sightseeing and made a reservation at a restaurant in Kawaramachi where you can eat Kyoto cuisine. I arrived around 6:00 PM on Saturday. The interior of the restaurant has tatami seating and a counter. There were also about 10 customers having a party. We ordered items such as pickled mackerel, simmered wheat gluten, and Kyoto vegetable gratin, so we could enjoy a variety of Kyoto-style dishes.

The interior of the shop, which was renovated from a private house, was a calming space. The lunch set menu with a wide variety of dishes was delicious and gentle on both the mind and body. It is recommended to arrive early as there were already about 8 people lined up before opening.

I had an oyakodon and vegetable tempura lunch. You can choose between white rice and five-grain rice. It was light and delicious.
