だいぼん@京都
Actually, there were some remaining tasks at work, so I (somewhat planned) decided to go to work early in the morning. That's why I couldn't make a lunchbox on time! I was aiming for a day when I could say that~! Today, returning from a weekend business trip, I was fortunate to have that timing. And, today happens to be my "half-century anniversary." To reward myself for my usual hard work... (although there's no one to say that to me), I went to Gomen Nijo for lunch!! I ordered the Beef Fillet Cutlet Sandwich for 2200 yen! I ate it in a corner of the restaurant. The bread was toasted and had a crispy texture rather than soft. There were 4 slices in total, and after eating them all, I felt quite full. The meat was tender and moist, and compared to the one at Motosaka in Osaka's Tsutenkaku Shopping Street (pseudonym), the price difference of 1500 vs 2200 was justified by the superior quality of the meat here! While Motosaka has thicker slices of meat, they only serve 3 slices. The meat at Okawa is more tender and delicious, as anyone can tell. If I were to be picky, I think they could improve the quality of the bread a bit more to make it even better. But this place is a butcher shop, not a bakery. It's best to not be too demanding, or else who knows, someone might come and complain from behind. No, no, if I say something dangerous like that, I might get stabbed from behind, well, no, if I say such ominous things, someone might come to complain again~! Anyway, this is the famous Tabelog after all!! (^^ In terms of rewarding myself, I didn't feel that 2200 yen was too expensive at all. I may not be able to eat something like this often, but as a choice for a luxurious yet casual lunch on a special day, I thought it was totally worth it. If you're going to eat, why not go for something good for 2200 yen instead of settling for a 1000 yen one!!
