I was walking from Shijo Omiya towards the Mibu Bus Depot and found a shop that caught my eye. They offer a great deal on breakfast - coffee and toast for a very low price! Plus, it comes with a boiled egg and a banana. They open at 7:00 in the morning, which is a great way to start the day!

Located on the way from Kyoto Shijo-Omiya to Nijo Station, "Kissaten March" is a cafe that I have always been curious about, with its charming morning set sign. The interior is spacious, with mainly table seats and an equally large area in the back. The nostalgic Showa era songs playing in the background create a calming atmosphere. I ordered the morning set, which comes with toast, banana, and a boiled egg for just 50 yen more than a coffee or tea. Surprisingly, many regular customers opt for just coffee, but perhaps they come to chat with the owner as part of their daily routine. They also offer a daily lunch set during lunchtime, so I look forward to trying that next time.

I walked north from Omiya Station for a bit to have lunch. I passed by a place that caught my eye before, but it was closed again. So, I turned around and decided to check out another place that seemed a bit intimidating from the outside. I went in and found that it was a nice and proper restaurant, although it smelled a bit like cigarettes. Since there was not much crowd, I decided to go for the daily special set meal. I ordered the Tianjin rice set meal, which turned out to be quite substantial with shrimp, imitation crab, fish cake, shimeji mushrooms, and green onions. It had a home-cooked feel to it and was decent enough. The side dishes included deep-fried tofu, spinach, and it seemed like a good option for single or unmarried individuals. The price was very reasonable and offered good value for money. If it wasn't for the slight cigarette smell, it would have been even better. Overall, considering the price, I can't complain. Thank you for the meal.

At Omiya Station, I realized it was my first day off and decided to have a light breakfast with coffee, toast, boiled egg, and a banana. The morning set was still served in the traditional style, and the customers in the shop seemed to be regular elderly locals.

There is a coffee shop near Omiya Station. The morning menu is available from 7:00 to 11:00. It was bustling with regular customers. The morning set costs 350 yen and was labeled as "Chukyo Police Station Opening Commemoration", but it seems like the Chukyo Police Station across the street has been open for a few years already. With toast, boiled egg, fruit, and coffee included in this price, I am truly impressed by their efforts.

I had breakfast here for the first time in over a year because the restaurant opens at 10 AM.

I visited this restaurant for the first time on a weekday night. I walked down the back street in a light rain, dodging people as I made my way to the shop. The dim lights inside the shop were like sunlight filtering through the windows. I imagine that this place must be more lively in the morning or during the day. But now, there was only one customer, and it was incredibly quiet. I sat alone at a table in the back and ordered a hot coffee (¥320). It arrived quickly. The aroma was inviting, and the taste was just average. Surrounded by gentle lighting, it felt like I had returned home. If possible, I would love to spend the night here and have breakfast in the morning before heading to work. But that is just a wish that will never come true.

Morning.... Toast, boiled egg, fruit, coffee.... 370 yen. Coffee, tea only.... 300 yen. The fruit that came with the morning set was Hanegi melon. The toast and coffee were okay, nothing special. The interior of the restaurant was dim despite having large windows, and the background music was enka songs, which seemed to be the preference of the staff.
