I visited for lunch on Monday, October 12, 2020. I was seated at the counter seat at the far end with one other customer. I ordered the scallion oil chicken noodle set menu for today. It seems that the restaurant is run by Chinese people. I could hear mysterious Chinese language coming from the kitchen. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations, but the Chinese restaurant's ramen was a big hit. The soup had a bit of thickness typical of Chinese soup, which was great. It mixed well with the noodles and was delicious! It also came with spring rolls and rice, all for 900 yen, which was very reasonable considering how tasty it was. I think this is a restaurant I would like to explore more.

I was disappointed to find that my favorite pickled mustard greens had been replaced with regular pickles. This isn't the first time it's happened! However, the chicken ramen was still delicious as always. I'm too shy to ask the owner about the pickled mustard greens. Next time, I'll bring my wife, who is currently undergoing wart treatment, and have her casually inquire about it!

There were plenty of toppings! It had a slightly peppery flavor and was delicious. With this, I've completely conquered lunch! This will also be my last review on Tabelog. Next time, I might secretly try the daily special, chicken ramen, or tantanmen as alternatives. When I'm really hungry, I might also challenge the additional dish for an extra 500 yen. I'll bring my wife, who also has an unsophisticated palate, to see if she likes the pickled vegetables, which are my favorite.

Today, I visited the restaurant with my son, who also has an unsophisticated palate. The tantanmen was really delicious! However, the accompanying karaage was a bit lukewarm, so I wish they had fried it again to make it crispy. My son had the daily lunch special, but he doesn't like spicy food, so they gave him some delicious pickled vegetables. On a good day, he would have definitely asked for seconds of rice. I wanted to bring some of the pickled vegetables home for my wife, who also has an unsophisticated palate like us, but I decided against it because it would get messy in my pocket. Also, I completed the lunch challenge with the Chuka-don! It was a long journey, but I will finish it on my next visit.

I had Tianjin rice for 850 yen today because I was in a hurry. It was so delicious that I could eat it like drinking. The egg was cooked perfectly, without any other ingredients, and the key was the balance between the egg and the sauce. There was a lot of rice, so I had to be careful not to run out of sauce by the end. My unrefined taste buds today made the perfect balance with the sauce! I also conquered the lunch menu with the Chinese bowl and tantan noodles. I want to achieve it quickly, so I thought it might be a good idea to go in disguise and visit twice a day. That was my lunch today!

It cost 980 yen ( ̄▽ ̄) It had a fruity taste even though there was no pineapple in it. The flavor was completely different from the usual Osho with black vinegar taste ( ̄▽ ̄) It seemed like they were busy today because there were many dishes left on the table when I arrived ( ̄▽ ̄) I noticed that there were some leftover pickled vegetables, which I really like! They are so delicious, but my taste buds are probably weird ( ̄▽ ̄) I had a sad lunch, thinking that maybe my taste buds are just strange. Pickled vegetables are definitely delicious ( ̄∇ ̄)

I tried the most expensive shrimp chili set meal that I had been curious about, priced at 1,180 yen. It was the hottest shrimp chili I've ever had! I burnt my tongue on the left side with the first bite. The taste was worth the price of 1,180 yen! The sauce of the shrimp chili was rich and flavorful. The oil-drizzled chicken was also delicious! The pickled vegetables were good as usual, and I really wanted to get more rice, but I resisted because I didn't want to become a glutton with a burnt tongue. I also conquered the dan dan noodles, sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour pork, and Chinese rice bowl! I love noodles, and as a challenger with a burnt tongue, I vowed to conquer them all at today's lunch.

I love noodles with a spicy tongue, so I want to try them all ( ̄∇ ̄). Today, I planned to order the mapo tofu set meal, but when I entered the restaurant and tried to say "ma, ma, ma," my love for soup made me blurt out "green onion oil ramen" instead! To my surprise, the side dish that usually comes with the meal turned out to be mapo tofu ( ̄∇ ̄). What a lucky coincidence! The mapo tofu was also incredibly delicious! So next time, I want to try sweet and sour pork or shrimp chili! Definitely! And if my mouth tries to order noodles again, I've decided to give it a good punch on the thigh. This was my lunch today ( ̄▽ ̄). The background music was Chinese songs, and the pickled mustard greens were also very tasty!

I love noodles with a simple taste, but today I tried the fried rice set meal at the restaurant. I started coming to this place more often, and since it's a Chinese restaurant, I knew I had to try it eventually. The portion was quite generous and I was stuffed! The taste was really good! The pickled vegetables were especially delicious today! Next time, I still haven't tried the sweet and sour pork, or the mapo tofu, and I also want to have some noodles, so I'm really torn on what to order next!

I tried a dish for the first time, it cost 900 yen. It was a bit saucy, and I burned my upper palate on the first bite, but it was really delicious with plenty of chicken in it. The chili pepper for flavoring was tough, but I managed to eat it all! The staff probably thought I was a fool for struggling with the spiciness. The background music in the restaurant was Chinese, and the tough-looking owner in the kitchen gave off a vibe of being on a little trip to China during this pandemic. As always, the pickled vegetables were really tasty, nothing like the ones from the regular supermarket.

I paid 900 yen for my meal. I was worried about COVID-19, so I stayed a bit away from the entrance curtain and visited the restaurant two days in a row. I love sour flavors, so today I had the hot and sour soup noodles. It was even more sour than I expected, but very delicious! However, the fried chicken was a bit cold, so I wish they had fried it for another 30 seconds. The pickled vegetables were really tasty, and I was able to confirm once again that the chef is tough. It was a great lunch at a Chinese restaurant. I also have to try the fried rice next time, or my wife will scold me.

880 yen ( ̄∇ ̄) I've been curious about this place for a while, and finally tried their lunch set! The main dish was stir-fried pork. The portion of meat and vegetables was decent and it tasted pretty good. Lately, ramen rice has been going for around 1,000 yen, so I think this set for 880 yen is cheap ( ̄▽ ̄) Also, the pickled vegetables were really delicious! They were totally different from the ones at the grocery store! I think the owners of the restaurant are probably Chinese. The chef seemed really tough and looked like he could win a fight ( ̄∇ ̄) I'll try their noodles next time!

After over a month, I had a business trip to Kyoto. I stayed at a hotel near the station and decided to have a meal at "Shouwaken" recommended by the hotel. The menu included: 1) Tomato and egg stir-fry (880 yen) 2) Spicy sesame noodles (980 yen) 3) Mapo tofu to share (850 yen) 4) A little bit of aged Chinese rice wine (360 yen). The restaurant, run by a Chinese couple, had a cozy atmosphere and the Chinese dishes tasted surprisingly delicious. The prices were reasonable, the menu was extensive, and the photos of the dishes on the wall made ordering easy. The sound of the wok added to the appetite. I might come back again since I will be staying for a while.

There is a small shop located a little above JR Nijo Station. The staff are Chinese but can speak Japanese. They offer lunch sets with dishes like mapo tofu and ramen with scallion oil. The scallion oil ramen has a slight sweetness and a thick texture, making it very satisfying when hot. I have been there several times, and this set is my favorite and highly recommended.

I visited a Chinese restaurant called Shouwaken near Kyoto Health and Hygiene Vocational School. It seems to be run by a Chinese couple. I had the daily lunch set for 880 yen. It consisted of a main dish like oyster sauce stir-fry or vegetable stir-fry, a salad-like dish with tofu strips, thick egg soup, pickles, and rice. The stir-fry had a strong flavor but lacked depth in taste. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly delicious either, just average. The lunch cost 880 yen, and I felt that the taste didn't quite match the price. The service, however, was very good.

During the time when I was obsessed with mapo tofu (lol), I had a mapo tofu set meal. The tofu was big and the mapo sauce had a thick consistency, giving it a homely appearance. It wasn't too spicy and was easy to eat. There was also fried chicken, and the meal was satisfying with plenty of rice. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I had lunch at a place I happened to come across while walking. They had a lunch menu, and I ordered the daily special set meal. It was sweet and sour pork that day.

I had been interested in this Chinese restaurant for a while. This time, I ordered a takeout bento box. I ordered the main dishes which were shrimp in chili sauce, meatballs, and shrimp mayo, as well as some fried dumplings. The shrimp in chili sauce was delicious. The meatballs were flavorful with spices. However, the portions were small. The meatballs were cut in half, so there were only three pieces (1.5 meatballs). The shrimp mayo was basically small shrimp tempura with mayo sauce on top. The bento box also came with one piece of fried chicken, stir-fried vegetables, and rice. There was an empty space in the bento box, making it feel a bit lacking. The fried dumplings were okay. Thank you for the meal.
