Lunch at the famous restaurant Yamatsuki in the southern part of Kyoto. I ordered the monthly special crab kamameshi lunch set. While waiting for the kamameshi to cook (which takes about 20 minutes), I enjoyed a salad, soup, and a side dish. When the kamameshi was ready, I had a choice of dashimaki tamago, grilled fish, or karaage as the main dish. The lunch set was quite substantial and delicious. The broth was gentle and allowed the flavors of the ingredients to shine. The kamameshi was cooked to perfection, with a nice crispy layer at the bottom. I was satisfied with the lunch. The dessert, chiffon cake, was also delicious and homemade. It was my first time visiting this restaurant, but I discovered that there are still many more delicious restaurants to explore in Kyoto. I went without a reservation, so I ordered white rice for lunch because it takes 25 minutes for the kettle rice. I still want to try the kettle rice. It was a cost-effective lunch.
