It was a year-end lunch course. It felt very long because the restaurant was crowded, the food was slow, and it was cold. The plates were fancy and the food was delicious, so it's one of my favorites. The fugu and scallop appetizers were especially delicious this time!

I stayed at a hotel in Kyoto during an event in the summer. It was a place I had always wanted to stay at, so I decided to stay there for a change. I opted for the breakfast service at the hotel, choosing the Japanese-style meal. I had read some great reviews about the breakfast on review sites, so I had high expectations. However, it wasn't as amazing as I had anticipated. It felt like something I could have eaten at home. I really wanted natto for breakfast, but they didn't have it, which was disappointing. The portion sizes were small and left me feeling unsatisfied. I wished there was more rice and definitely more natto. Despite that, the hotel itself was comfortable and pleasant. They provided a 1000 yen taxi voucher as part of the stay, but the ride to Kyoto Station cost more than that, so I thought next time I would get off at Gojo Station or somewhere closer.

This place is like a hotel in Kyoto for weddings, with a stunningly impressive interior. The atmosphere alone makes it a great choice for dates or special occasions. From the entrance to the restaurant, you can feel the excitement building up. The dishes cost around 7000 to 10000 yen, as far as I remember. The first picture is of scallops. The charcoal sear was delicious, and it was the best dish in the course. I love scallops, and this dish definitely ranks high on my list. The flavor is rich and satisfying. The second picture is of a salad. It includes ingredients like salmon, vegetables, and a poached egg. The ingredients are simple, but I enjoyed this kind of salad. The third picture is of turtle soup, which I like because it's unusual. The fourth picture is of crepe with fish and duxelles inside. The side vegetables are ordinary, but the classic dish is not bad. The fifth picture is of a granita. The sixth picture is of a meat dish that I can't remember the specifics of. It's served with typical accompaniments like pumpkin puree, common in large hotel restaurants and wedding venues. Many restaurants like this one often lack in taste, but this one serves delicious dishes. You will definitely leave feeling satisfied. For dessert, there is tiramisu. Many restaurants don't put much effort into desserts, so this was a bit disappointing. I would have been very satisfied if they had served a more elaborate French-style dessert. The service is excellent, as expected from a large restaurant. They even gave us a souvenir when we left, making our departure a pleasant experience. Whether it's for a date, anniversary, or everyday dining, I highly recommend this place. The food is good, although it falls slightly short of perfection, there is no dissatisfaction. It's simply delicious, and you leave feeling content. I also remember that the prices were reasonable. I would love to go back again.

The room has 13 rooms designed by 13 creators, designers, Japanese painters, planners, etc. The designs of the rooms are 13 different types. There is a room with Japanese paintings that appeal to foreigners covering one wall, a room wrapped in white curtains, a room with mirrors, and so on. The room sizes range from 38㎡ to 72㎡, and I was guided to the room designed by Tanaka Ryo, the Sweet Room 68㎡. My first impression when entering the room was, "It's spacious!" and "It's black!" Very stylish! The wallpaper, ceiling, sofa, and table are mostly black. Since black would show dirt easily, the room seemed to be cleaned very well. As it is a suite room, the check-in process was done in the room. The welcome drink was an apple ginger cocktail. The spacious black space had low sofas. The red paintings on the black wallpaper caught my eye. The bedroom was also all black with a large white Simmons bed standing out. The spacious bathroom was also black with a large jacuzzi bathtub. The white bathtub stood out in the black space. The soft light of the indirect lighting in the black space was soothing. The room was so spacious that there was no sense of oppression. While being fascinated by the designer's sense, I looked around. I enjoyed drinking Ichibodou tea in the room and relaxed while feeling the sophistication of Kyoto. I will post a separate review of the morning and evening meals at the French restaurant in this hotel, BRON RONNERY. I am looking forward to the meals!

I found out about this hotel through the food log. I thought the concept of "sora-noko" (a play on words meaning "floor in the sky" instead of the traditional "floor over the river") was interesting, so I checked their website and found a discount plan available until mid-March. I made a reservation, which became the starting point for my trip to Kyoto this time. Since there are many restaurants I want to try, I did not include breakfast. The room charge was 23,000 yen per night. As a special web booking bonus, I received a 1,000 yen taxi ticket. Each room is designed by a different designer with its own theme. They prepared room 101 as I requested when making the reservation. The Rinpa-style sliding door paintings are beautiful. They are also reflected in the mirror on the closet door. I was impressed by the attention to detail in the amenities. Even the sugar in the tea set is stylish. The green tea provided was from Ippodo, with plenty of fresh tea leaves in the tea bags. It was my first time walking on Sanjo Street where the hotel is located, and I found many long-established shops scattered around. There was Ippodo as well as Murakami Kaishindo, where I once tried cookies in Kojimachi. If I hadn't stayed here, I probably wouldn't have walked around this area, so I'm glad I did. I hope to visit for a meal at "sora-noko" next time.

This is my favorite hotel in Kyoto, where I stayed for a special occasion. It was my birthday, so I refrained from taking photos of the food. Here are the lunch options: - Chef's recommended Degustation Lunch Course: ¥3,850 per person - Seasonal Lunch Course: ¥2,400 for half course, ¥2,900 for full course - Luxury Lunch Course: ¥5,000 per person For dinner, they offer: - Seasonal Dinner Course: ¥9,000 per person - Wagyu Steak Dinner Course: ¥5,500 per person - Chef's Special Degustation Dinner Course: starting from ¥12,000 per person The meals include a variety of dishes made with high-quality ingredients. The experience was satisfying and I will definitely revisit when I'm in the area. Thank you for the delicious meal.

During the Golden Week holiday in May, I stayed at Zasukurin and chose the "Sorashita" plan with dinner and breakfast included. The location near the Kyoto Imperial Palace was perfect, with 13 rooms each featuring a unique interior design. I opted for the largest room, which had a spacious and relaxing white-themed decor. After check-in, I enjoyed a welcome drink and dinner starting at 6:30 pm on the open terrace. I added the free drink option for 2500 yen, which included unlimited beer, red and white wine, and soft drinks. The food was delicious, although the dim lighting made it a bit hard to see the dishes clearly. The bread, made with natural yeast, was tasty, especially the purple bread. However, the dessert, while visually appealing, was a bit too heavy on the cream. The attentive service from the female staff member was much appreciated. For breakfast, I chose the Japanese option, which featured delicious Kyoto-style dishes like yudofu. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with a leisurely check-out time of 12 pm. Thank you for the hospitality!

This hotel features 13 guest rooms designed by 13 different creators. I stayed in a suite room which had a simple and elegant atmosphere. The room was spacious with a chic vibe, and the Simmons bed was very comfortable. The coffee and sugar setup in the room was stylish, and there were also some snacks provided. Since I was unsure of my arrival time in Kyoto, I had dinner outside and only used the hotel for breakfast. The breakfast was Japanese style, with a variety of small dishes that were beautifully presented and delicious. It had an elegant touch without being too bland, and I really enjoyed it.
