Located in the quiet town of Fukuchiyama, this restaurant is easily accessible from the Super Sato Shinooshinomachi store intersection. Just head south along the river from the store and take the second left, where you'll see the restaurant's sign on the left. The parking lot in front of the restaurant can fit a few cars. The restaurant looks very clean, as if it had just opened. I wanted to check their website, but found a restaurant with the same name in Mineyama, which seems to be a sister store. The seating consists mainly of semi-private rooms, and even though I was dining alone, I was seated in one of these semi-private rooms. I had seen a menu item for Galician chestnut pork steak on their Instagram, so I was hoping to try it at the restaurant. Unfortunately, it wasn't on the menu, so I decided to go with the weekly special, which was chicken cutlet, one of my favorite dishes. The food arrived in about 15 minutes. The main dish, the chicken cutlet in Yanagawa style, was sizzling on a ceramic plate. I started with the generous portion of fresh vegetables. Ever since I started eating vegetables first, my blood sugar levels seem to be more stable, as confirmed by recent blood tests... I know, unnecessary information. As the sizzling calmed down a bit, the dish became easier to eat. The piping hot chicken cutlet was essentially a cutlet with egg and broth. The plentiful broth made it reminiscent of Yanagawa style cooking, I suppose. I took a bite, and the chicken cutlet was deliciously hot. Using the small wooden spoon, typically used for chawanmushi, I scooped up some broth and poured it over the rice before taking a big bite. It was delicious. I then had the potato salad as a side dish. The balance of onions and ham in the smoky potato salad was perfect. The slightly sweet balsamic sauce added another layer of flavor. The meal cost 1200 yen, excluding tax. Judging from the delicious side dishes, I imagine the evening menu items are also tasty. As mentioned earlier, they offer takeout options as well, so you can easily enjoy their food at home. The restaurant's Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/kokin_fukuchiyama/) has the menu listed for reference. It would be great if they updated it more frequently. Overall, a satisfying meal. Thank you!
