Jefan (J’ai faim) is located about an 8-minute walk from JR Uji Station and a 12-minute walk from Keihan Uji Station. This shop offers Western-style sweets, cakes, and pita bread. It is situated on the opposite side of the railway tracks from Ujihashi-dori Shotengai. Despite its affordable price of 400 yen each, we chose the Bulgogi, Yangnyeom Chicken, and Omelette pita bread. The pita bread was delicious and filling. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back from Uji, I stopped by here for a bit. It's not a fancy-looking place, more like a casual shop. I placed my order at the counter outside, and then waited inside for my order to be ready. I bought an ice cream print tart (250 yen) for my niece to eat in the shop, and also got two chocolate tarts (280 yen each) and a peach tart (280 yen) to go. All prices include tax. The tarts were quite delicious, especially considering the price. It's a great place to grab a tasty tart easily. The staff were also very friendly. I would love to stop by again next time. It was delicious!

This is a small cafe located about 600 meters north of JR Uji Station, on the east side of Unichika's factory premises. The main focus seems to be on take-out sweets, but you can also eat in. There are 4 parking spaces across the street. You order and pay at the window in the middle of the building with "Nakai Facilities" written on it. All prices include tax. Pound cake for 180 yen, pudding tart for 180 yen, yuzu-scented black bean tart for 220 yen, chocolate banana tart for 260 yen, camembert cheese fromage tart for 280 yen. Also, pita bread sandwich for 350 yen, set for 500 yen, and more. All of them look delicious! Coffee and tea are 200 yen. The eat-in space is inside the leftmost door, with an L-shaped counter with 5 seats. Wi-Fi is available, and chargers are provided. The background music is Western pop songs. The interior is completely non-smoking. I chose the chocolate brownie for 260 yen and hot coffee for 200 yen. The brownie, shaped like a donut and loaded with chocolate, is moist with a hint of chocolate sweetness, cute toppings, and a nice nutty texture. It's rich but not too sweet, so it's delicious. The original blend coffee, served in a paper cup, is rich and tasty. The friendly service from the female staff is also great. Despite the small space, it's a cozy place to relax. I recommend both take-out and eat-in options. (Translated on January 14, 2015)

Located on the north side of JR Uji Station, in between a factory area and a residential neighborhood with little tourism, this eatery specializes in takeout light meals. The shop is situated in a cream-colored square building among equipment companies, with a distinct dark brown wood-paneled takeout window that catches the eye. The eat-in area is small but cozy, with a soft atmosphere and comfortable seating. I tried the chicken teriyaki mayo pita bread and coffee. The warm pita bread was cut into small pieces for easy eating, with a generous amount of chicken coated in teriyaki sauce that had a delicious sweet and savory flavor. Afterward, I headed to Byodoin Temple to take photos of the snow-covered scenery.
