On July 23, I visited HAKONIWA in front of Goryokaku Station for the HAKONIWA eating event. I heard that there was a food truck serving New Orleans cuisine run by an acquaintance, so I decided to check it out. In addition to the New Orleans cuisine, I tried various other dishes, including three restaurants listed on Tabelog. First, I tried "HAKONIWA Gelato." Despite the cloudy weather forecast, the sun was shining brightly, so I worked up a sweat biking from home. The cold gelato was a refreshing treat for my body, so I chose the "Niagara" flavor. As the name suggests, it had a strong Niagara grape flavor that was light and satisfying for my body on that day. I couldn't take a photo of the gelato itself because the temperature was high, and I ordered it in a cone, so I couldn't place it anywhere. But I will definitely be going back for more. A mysterious new gelato shop has opened at Hakoniwa in front of Goryokaku Station. I visited for the first time as it seemed like they haven't been open since November. I had a double scoop in a cup, which cost 500 yen. I chose blue and apple sorbet, both of which were delicious.

There have been various new things around here recently. I tried acorn bread, Starbucks, and bought ice cream from a stall across from Daibayashi vacant lot. I didn't have high expectations and the staff at the stall were not very friendly, but the atmosphere was nice and the taste was surprisingly good.
