Today, my family and I planned to go to Shigaraki area for Golden Week, but we encountered heavy traffic and couldn't move forward. So, we decided to visit a planetarium in Joyo while waiting. While wandering around, we stumbled upon a gelato shop run by a company that also sells various food items. It seems that they are involved in lotus farming. We saw a gelato sign while passing by in our car. The shop is set up as a sales outlet in a corner of a place where aquatic plants are sold. In addition to gelato, they also offer candies, tea, and pasta sauces. The gelato flavors available were salt, strawberry, and matcha, each containing lotus seeds in powdered form. I looked up the effects of lotus seeds online and found that they are believed to protect the spleen in traditional Chinese medicine. Lotus seeds are considered to balance the internal organs, nourish vitality, and treat various illnesses. They are also said to be effective for insomnia and considered the best food for prolonging life. The gelato was made with Okinawa Miyako Island's mineral-rich salt, making it seem beneficial for health. I ordered one salt gelato and found it to be lightly sweetened with a hint of saltiness. The lotus seeds added a crunchy texture, which may be a matter of personal preference. The price of 360 yen per piece seemed a bit high for the portion size. Overall, I enjoyed trying the gelato made with lotus seeds for the first time and found it intriguing. It's always nice to try food that is good for your health. I finished it quickly and felt satisfied. I recommend trying this gelato to experience something new and potentially beneficial for your health. Thank you for the meal!
