I finally had a chance to visit Fuyuharu Bagel, a shop that is only open 4-5 days a month because it is run by the owner alone. The taste level was surprisingly high! When I arrived 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday, there were already 18 groups of customers ahead of me. I was worried I wouldn't be able to buy any, but luckily there were still plenty to choose from. Highly recommended flavors include the Yomogi (Japanese mugwort) sweet potato for ¥210, the Baked Curry Cheese for ¥250, the Takana (mustard greens) Cheese for ¥250, and the Yuzu Cream Cheese for ¥250, which was my favorite. The quality of the bagels is so high that they could easily be sold for 4-500 yen at other bakeries, but here you can get a plain one for just over 100 yen. I might say this is the best bagel shop I've ever been to. I will definitely go back again! Thank you for the delicious food.

Responding to a child's request for bagels, my husband and I set out to visit this bakery for the first time. The bakery is only open about 4-5 days a month, mainly on Saturdays. We arrived 8 minutes before opening time and there were already 2 groups of customers ahead of us. The system is to choose from the items displayed in the showcase and then inform the staff to get them for you. They have a wide variety of bagels, as well as oatmeal cookies and muffins. After some deliberation, we decided on 7 different types of bagels (plain, fig and walnut, double chocolate, cheese, salted butter, matcha cream cheese chocolate, cocoa), 2 pieces of bagel maritozzo, and a banana muffin. They use wheat from Hokkaido and do not use sugar, eggs, milk, or fats. The soft and chewy texture is truly delicious and body-friendly. The small bakery, about 4 tatami mats in size, brings immense happiness to the dining table. They usually sell out within 1-2 hours of opening, so it's recommended to check their website or Instagram before visiting. There is a bicycle parking lot across the street from the bakery!

■Visit Date: April 24, 2021■Items received: Refer below■MEMOVisited on April 24, 2021. This shop is only open twice a week. I arrived at the shop around 11:30 AM and there was already a line forming – it's quite popular. The items are mostly priced in the 100 yen range and are larger than they appear. Each item is individually wrapped. The items I purchased this time are as follows:・Bagel・Epi・Cheese Bagel・Pickled Mustard Greens Cheese Bagel・Fig Walnut Bagel・Chocolate Muffin・Yeast Scone (Plain)・Orange Cream Bagel・Mugwort Cherry Bean Paste BagelI bought a total of 8 different items. Each item is delicious. The more you chew, the more depth of flavor you experience, and it becomes addictive. It's enjoyable to taste a variety of flavors. The pickled mustard greens cheese bagel was a new experience for me, and it was also great. The mugwort cherry bean paste bagel evokes the feeling of spring, with a perfect balance of flavors. The yeast scone is excellent on its own or with jam. You can savor the exquisite taste. I would like to visit this shop again.■Blog (Japanese): https://ay-style.net/?p=59786

I finally got to visit Fuyuharu Bagel, a place I've always wanted to go. Even though I came all the way to Fuyuharu Bagel, it was a day for visiting multiple bagel shops, so I selected three: Cinnamon Sugar, Salted Butter, and Black Tea White Chocolate Lemon. The bagels were cute and round, and when toasted, the crust was crispy while the crumb was soft and elastic. They were all delicious. I can't wait to visit again soon and try all the flavors!

I rarely go out to the town in Kyoto on Saturdays because I usually go out on Fridays and then don't go out again. But for some reason, I went out on a Saturday. It was about half a month ago, so I don't remember why I went out. I even forget what I had for dinner last night. Anyway, it was a Saturday! It was a chance to visit a bagel shop that is only open on Saturdays. I looked it up on my navigation system and went there, but I kept going around in circles in the same place. It was a narrow road where only one car could pass through, surrounded by houses. If a car came from behind, it would be a problem! I bought a plain bagel for 120 yen, a cinnamon raisin bagel for 140 yen, and a bagel dog for 300 yen. I had the bagel dog for breakfast, and it was delicious! The sausage inside was crispy, and the bagel dough was firm. It was really tasty, just as the reviews said. For dinner, I had a plain bagel with chestnuts picked from the garden, mushrooms given to me by a neighbor, and chicken stew, along with fried Mangetout from the garden. Come to think of it, I've been eating out a lot for the past two weeks and haven't really cooked proper meals at home. Now that November has started and things have calmed down a bit, I'll make sure to cook proper meals. Oh, I just remembered! I went to buy a cheap electric stove at Edion because my points were expiring. It was a 3800 yen stove.

The fig walnut dough is incredibly chewy with a satisfying crunch from the walnuts. The figs and a hint of liquor flavor add a nice contrast to the texture. Personally, I think a bit more sweetness in the figs would have been even better. It was delicious!

I had been wanting to visit this place since before they moved, but the timing never worked out with their business hours. Finally, on the day I arrived in Kyoto, they were open! Lucky me! After enjoying my time at Kinkaku-ji, I headed over to the shop just in time for their opening. They sell their delicious bagels in a small space on the first floor of a residential building. I bought four bagels: "Cinnamon Sugar Raisin" for 130 yen, "Corn" for 150 yen, "Fig Walnut" for 190 yen, and "Black Tea Orange Scone" for 190 yen. The bagels may be small, but they are nice and crunchy. The standout was the Cinnamon Sugar Raisin. When you take a bite, the cinnamon aroma hits you right away. Usually, cinnamon raisin bagels have a few raisins scattered throughout the dough, with a hint of cinnamon. But this one was packed with cinnamon flavor and juicy raisins. The dough was soft and chewy. And all this for just 130 yen! The Corn bagel was filled with sweet corn, and the Fig Walnut had dried figs and walnuts scattered in the dough. The impact of the Cinnamon Raisin bagel was incredible. I was truly impressed.

I've been thinking of moving from the previous location, but the shop is only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so I finally visited. The road in front of the store is so narrow that only one car can pass. There is a sign for bagels in front of the store: Plain Bagel (120 yen), Pickled Cheese Bagel (170 yen), Orange Cream Cheese Bagel (220 yen), Bagel Dog (110 yen). I love the bagels here, they were all delicious, but I think the plain one is the best! I will definitely go back on a day when they are open again!

I went there and it was delicious! If this place isn't popular, then what are people looking at?! So good! If there's a better bagel shop than this one, please let me know. The texture, chewiness, almost perfect.

In a quiet corner of Ukyo Ward, Uzumasa Yasui, there was a cute bagel shop that has now moved to a quiet corner of Shichijo Gozen! You might have to search carefully to find it, just like the previous location! They have a good variety of bagels with great texture. Flavors like cocoa, cheese, walnut, and orange cream cheese are popular among women. Personally, I prefer the "Bagel Epi" as I am a middle-aged man. The owner is a quiet and gentle woman. Sometimes they close for special events involving their child, but it's a heartwarming place where you can feel their dedication to both their business and family. I will continue to support this wonderful shop and I highly recommend it to any bagel lover in Kyoto.
