I arrived before my dinner reservation at 20:30. The restaurant has a counter and also spacious table seating. I sat at the counter and enjoyed a Sakura Mojito, Gin Fizz, and a Martini before my meal. I had a pleasant conversation with the bartender. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went to an afternoon tea. I have visited various afternoon tea places, but what stood out here was the variety of savory items. Omelette rice, beef stew, potato waffle, American dog, tortilla, and oil sardine tart. They were all delicious, but the beef stew was particularly impressive. The meat was tender and flavorful, like braised pork. The scones were small and had a soft cookie-like texture rather than a crumbly surface. The drink, a strawberry sparkling wine-like welcome drink, was sweet and delicious. Since it was an afternoon tea that focused on enjoying the dishes and tableware, everything was unique and charming, all made of pottery. The balance of sweetness and saltiness was just right in terms of quantity as well. I would like to try their afternoon tea in a different season. The tables, chairs, and the overall space of the room were spacious and cozy. The only downside was that it was a two-part system, so the stay was limited to 1.5 hours.

Limited to a certain number of groups per day, we had a private afternoon tea session and enjoyed a truly elegant time. The collaboration afternoon tea Vol.5 with GINORI 1735, "Midsummer Fruits - Seeking Coolness," featured a variety of fruit-themed menu items, including blueberry tart, butterfly pea jelly with peach compote, and panna cotta glass dessert with a cool atmosphere. A total of 17 sweet and savory items were served, such as potato salad and prosciutto cucumber rolls, Caesar salad spring rolls, marinated sea bream, salmon roll sandwich, Oriental sauce Wagyu fillet steak, curry gratin, and homemade pickles. The tea set included two types of scones (mango and coconut), kiwi jam with whipped cream, blueberry tartlet, butterfly pea jelly with peach compote, yogurt panna cotta with fruit salad and lychee granita, seasonal fruits (watermelon, grapes, kiwi, mango), coconut-scented mango mousse, mango sorbet and chocolate ice cream with passion fruit sauce, and pineapple and caramel meringue chantilly. The drink options included free-flowing Williamson Blend (hot), Williamson Earl Grey (hot), Gion Tsujiri cold-brewed green tea (iced), Kyoto-produced MINTON Japanese black tea (hot), Wazuka tea sencha (hot), chamomile herbal tea (hot), iced blend tea, Minoyo soy coffee (hot, non-caffeinated), and original blend coffee (hot, iced).

After having lunch at "Okakita," I went shopping for dried fish and pickles before returning to the hotel. Before dinner, I decided to have a drink here. As expected, it's a lovely main bar at Hotel Okura. I had the following drinks: - Premium Sidecar: A cocktail made with Hennessy XO, with a rich and elegant flavor. - Melifluous: A cocktail made with fresh pear and tea liqueur. - Dried persimmons and sweetened beans: It's been a while since I had sweetened beans, but they are delicious. - Bombay Sapphire Gin and Tonic - Double Highball with Dewar's 15 Years Old Now it's time for dinner. Shall we head to tonight's dinner place? Thank you for the meal.

This is a bar on the second floor of Hotel Okura Kyoto. It has a calm atmosphere and offers high-quality drinks and service. The experienced bartenders and sommeliers are always available to make cocktails not on the menu. Despite being on the second floor, the view from the windows is great, and I love the spacious and open feeling.

Located on the second floor of Hotel Okura Kyoto. I went there to read a book while having a drink, as dinner was early. I arrived around 7:30 pm. The main space with a counter was crowded, so I went to the opposite side to the sub-space. I sat on a sofa, sipping on a pint of Guinness while flipping through the pages. The complimentary snacks were sweetened beans and persimmon seeds. I stayed until 9 pm, so I was able to read quite a bit. If you visit during a quiet time like Sunday night, you can enjoy a luxurious time.

Tonight, I stayed at this hotel (Kyoto Okura) and visited IEMON Salon, Rokuyosha underground, and Nishiki Market. It was a whirlwind day. I enjoyed traditional Japanese music and cuisine. Then, I moved to Tomonoi for a second round. However, I wasn't feeling well and had to return to the hotel to rest. After a while, I came to this bar. Unfortunately, the staff seemed inexperienced, which was a bit frustrating. Looking at the menu, I found a cocktail called "Honeymoon." It was made with Dassai shochu from Yamaguchi, the birthplace of Katsura Kogoro, and plum wine from Fukui, the birthplace of Ikumatsu. This cocktail was inspired by a newlywed couple who escaped to Choshu after a dangerous journey. Another cocktail was inspired by Aizu-han, which supported the Tokugawa shogunate, and Kuwana-han. It was a yellow cocktail made with Kuwamai, a liquor made from crushed mulberries, as the base. Drinking cocktails at a bar is a perfect way to end the day. Cocktails should be memorable and reflect the night. When traveling, I tend to get sentimental. If you're in Kyoto, it's nice to drink a cocktail that suits the night in Kyoto. In that sense, these two cocktails are interesting choices. I was initially seated at the counter but declined due to the heavy smoker next to me. Smoking and cocktails don't mix. This kind of consideration is also part of good customer service in a bar. Cocktail: Honeymoon - Dassai shochu, plum wine, blue curacao, white juice. Cocktail: Mojito.

Good evening! This is Medy╲(。^‿^。)╱ On November 20th, I had a job to shoot a video and photos at a ceremony held at Hotel Okura Kyoto. As the photographer, I worked without eating anything until 3:30 pm. After that, I was unexpectedly asked to join a debriefing session, so I went. We headed straight to the bar at Hotel Okura Kyoto... The debriefing session felt more like a fun gathering than a serious meeting! They kindly took care of me, treated me to some food, and even suggested I try the American Clubhouse Sandwich priced at 1800 yen (excluding tax). The menu had a note in parentheses saying (2138 yen), so with tax included, it would be 1944 yen. The service charge seemed quite high. With high expectations, I ordered the "Warm Seafood Salad" priced at 2400 yen (excluding tax). I took a photo of the menu at 4:02 pm, and the actual dish was brought to me at 4:19 pm. I had to wait 17 minutes for a sandwich and a salad. It was pretty empty around 4 pm. I took the photo of the menu after ordering, so it took about 20 minutes in total. The 2400 yen salad, named "Warm Seafood Salad," turned out to be cold. I was left wondering if it was cold because I had to wait for 20 minutes. The value of the 2400 yen salad was not apparent to me. I had expected more from a high-class hotel, but the food and service were disappointing. I actually felt the service at Fortune Garden across from Okura was much better... It was a day of learning in many ways... Medy.

I dropped by because there was a gathering nearby. The bar had a wooden counter and a neat shelf lined with various drinks. It was a classic, authentic bar. I started with a Glenmorangie straight. Since I was the only customer, the bartender kept me company. I learned that this whiskey was initially made by a beer distillery that bought a gin still second-hand. It is aged in Jack Daniel's barrels. Next, I was recommended a malt from the Burgundy region. It was sweet, reminiscent of brandy. Maybe it was just me? I had a fun time. The bill came out to a little over 4000 yen.

I visited a bar on the second floor of Hotel Okura. Despite being a hotel bar, the interior felt a bit mismatched and lacking in cohesion, with dim lighting. The food was average, and I was disappointed with the melon liquor I was looking forward to. The alcohol was diluted, and when I mentioned it, I was told that it was actually a strong drink. Overall, it was not the kind of experience I was hoping for in a traditional hotel bar.

I apologize for another midsummer review. This time, I visited a memorable bar in August. It is located on the second floor of Kyoto Hotel Okura. The bar has a British-style, luxurious decor, giving off a sophisticated vibe typical of a high-end hotel. The blue lights from outside reflected into the seating area, creating a nostalgic and romantic atmosphere. I, once again, uninterestingly ordered an alcohol-free cocktail and tomato juice. Oh, how healthy. I find myself boring. Unfortunately, I inherited the inability to drink alcohol from my maternal lineage. For generations, descendants in my mother's family, who have been in the sake brewing business, have had a low tolerance for alcohol. Both my grandfather and mother were light drinkers. This genetic trait has been passed down to me as well. It's like a white robe in a dyer's shop. Perhaps our ancestors did not want their offspring to interfere with the family business. But I digress. For snacks, I had Camembert cheese, beautifully presented like a flower. It was delicious, especially when paired with apples. The service was exceptional, as expected in a hotel, but sadly, many top hotels nowadays lack such attention to service. I had a relaxing and sophisticated evening. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Chippendale is located on the second floor of Hotel Okura Kyoto. It is a bar that evokes British Gothic style. The counter exudes a sense of luxury. They don't seem to have single malt whiskies, so I opted for a gin and tonic this time. The gin and tonic here is made with Gordon's gin and Schweppes tonic water, a classic combination. Just like the bar itself, it has a classical feel. I really like gin and tonics, even though it's such a simple drink. I'm also a fan of Francoise Hardy. It's refreshing and easy to drink. I'll finish it quickly and make room for the next person.

When I came to this restaurant, I expected it to be quite expensive. We waited until a table opened up at the anniversary shop next door. They told us that if we keep a bottle, we can drink at a discounted price, so they took us there. The interior of the shop had a nice, luxurious atmosphere. When we sat down, there were rows of bottles that they were keeping for customers, and they said, "Feel free to drink whatever whiskey you like." I was feeling thirsty, so I asked for a Highball with Hakushu. Then I enjoyed a Half Rocks of Laphroaig. It was still early, so there were only two groups at the counter, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I didn't know about other shops, but I learned that if you keep a bottle, you can drink at a cheaper price, almost like just paying for water. When I checked the receipt, it was only 1200 yen! I mentioned that the bottle keeping fee was high, but they explained that they keep a lot of bottles during half-price campaigns, so it ends up being cheaper. I see, I'll remember that. Thank you for the meal.
