Fukuchiyama Station North Exit, in front of "Fukuchiyama Station Shotengai" heading north. After walking a few dozen meters, you will see the "AOKI BLDG" with a brick-like wall on your left. The shop is located in a semi-basement area. There is a lunch menu sign at the entrance. Inside the shop, there is a counter on the right and table seats on the left. The lunch menu offers a variety of traditional dishes. I was drawn to the "Jorin Jitadori" and ordered the fried chicken. "The dishes on the counter are buffet style, so please help yourself," they said. Wow! In addition to the menu, there's a buffet! How generous. There's cabbage salad, simmered dried daikon radish, boiled Chinese cabbage, ketchup pasta, and even chicken wings. This alone makes a satisfying lunch (laughs). The sweetened dried daikon radish and boiled Chinese cabbage were a bit too sweet for my taste. The ketchup pasta was just as it is. I didn't try the chicken wings as they seemed cold. While enjoying the buffet, the ordered dish arrived. The fried chicken looked quite dark, almost burnt. But it seems the seasoning made it that way. When you take a bite of the large piece, it's crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The meat has a firm texture and tastes delicious. However, the smaller pieces lacked juiciness. Oh well, a bit disappointing! The standout was the rice. It's light but delicious. On my way out, I asked, "Is the rice locally sourced?" (Oops, maybe not the best way to ask). "No, it's local rice," they replied. The fried chicken made from Jorin Jitadori chicken costs 810 yen. It includes the buffet, coffee after the meal. If I had to nitpick, I would have liked a couple more pieces of fried chicken. Well, I should have eaten the chicken wings if I wanted more. The Jorin chicken and rice were delicious. Thank you for the meal.
