Visited "Ueno Kuromon Torue" in Ueno. This restaurant, along with its affiliated stores in the area, is highly rated for its yakitori. I was invited by a client and had the pleasure of dining here today. Thank you for the invitation. The exterior has a typical yakitori restaurant look with a red curtain at the entrance. Upon entering, you'll find a counter surrounding the grilling area in an L-shape. I took a seat at the counter. The interior has a nice traditional Japanese atmosphere with indirect lighting, including paper sliding doors. As it is possible to order a la carte at affiliated stores, I decided to do so. Here is what I ordered:
- Corn with grated summer vegetables as a complimentary starter.
- Seasonal salad (900 yen tax included) - a crispy salad.
- Dashimaki tamago (900 yen tax included) - a classic rolled omelette with a gentle flavor.
- 7-piece set (2550 yen tax included) including various types of yakitori such as chicken breast, heart, thigh meat, meatball, knee cartilage, ginkgo nut, and chicken tail. Each skewer had its unique taste and texture, with the chicken tail being particularly delicious with the yuzu pepper.
- Grated radish with quail egg (350 yen tax included) - a tasty accompaniment to the yakitori.
- Additional orders of harami (380 yen tax included), leeks (350 yen tax included), and shiitake mushrooms (380 yen tax included) were also delicious.
Overall, this place specializes in traditional meat-focused yakitori. The grilling technique and service were top-notch, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. The prices were reasonable, and I was very satisfied with the delicious food. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This was my first time visiting. The cold soup at the beginning of the course was delicious! Just as I expected, the liver pate was rich but easy to eat. The yakitori was of course tasty, with the meat and skin both tender and full of flavor along with the chicken oil. I tried the rare part with the pretend sleeves for the first time and I definitely want to eat it again. Even though I was already full, I managed to finish the minced chicken rice bowl at the end. I want to come back with my husband next time. Thank you for the meal.

This is probably my fourth time here. This time, we came for a project wrap-up celebration. The Ueno-Yushima area has many delicious yakitori restaurants, but I like the atmosphere here because it's not too noisy. We ordered the omakase set of 10 skewers, and every one of them was delicious, so you can't go wrong. For the finale, we shared parent-and-child donburi and minced chicken donburi, which was just the right amount. The prices are on the higher side, but good food comes at a price.

I went to the restaurant with 4 friends from my university circle, including seniors and peers. We ordered a course that included 4 drinks and minced chicken rice, costing around 9000 yen per person. The chicken dishes such as yakitori and minced chicken rice were delicious, and the appetizers like grated nagaimo and corn mousse were also very tasty. I was very satisfied with the meal. I would like to use this place for a slightly upscale izakaya experience.

I tried to make a reservation at the main store but it was full since it was the day before. They recommended another branch nearby in Ueno, so I made a reservation there. The restaurant was also full. We ordered the cheaper course menu and added some extra dishes. The photo is of a single serving of minced chicken bowl. The staff also recommended this dish.

Visited the Kuromon branch for the first time, following the Yushima main store and Hirokoji store. Ordered the 7-course meal along with tebasaki and oyakodon. The yakitori here is consistently good like at other branches, but with a slightly different touch. I think it might be in the way they sprinkle the salt or perhaps how they grill it. Either way, it's delicious! The ambiance of the restaurant, with its emphasis on the warmth of wood, is sophisticated and very pleasant. It's calming. The staff are also very friendly. The only downside might be the alcohol selection. Maybe they could focus more on choosing drinks that pair well with yakitori. The difference between here and H restaurant, which excels in wine pairings and enthusiastically helps with drink recommendations, might be showing here? In any case, this is a high-level yakitori restaurant that I'd like to visit again.

The newest store in the Toru Megumi series of stores. Good for a date. The atmosphere is enjoyable. They serve dishes with quite rare parts, so it feels special. I have been there many times. The staff is attentive and provides good service.

I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in almost 20 years and we went to eat delicious yakitori. This was my second time at this restaurant. The draft beer was delicious. We ordered the chef's selection of 10 skewers for two people. The skewers were grilled to perfection right in front of us, with just the right amount of salt and cooked just right, making them incredibly tasty. The duck and leek skewers were juicy and delicious. We also had oyakodon and chicken soup as a finishing touch, both of which were incredibly delicious. Even though the restaurant is always busy, it's understandable because the food is so good.

Renowned yakitori restaurant "Torie" was bustling before 6:00 PM on Saturday. We opted for the course menu. The chicken hearts were the most delicious I've ever had in my life. Many customers were enjoying red wine alongside their meal, and it was a perfect match. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Located a 3-minute walk from JR Okachimachi Station, I visited Ueno Kuromon Torue for the second time. Once again, the place was fully booked. The interior has a counter that can seat about 10 people, along with two private rooms with 4-person tables each. It feels quite spacious. This time, I chose the Torue course for 5200 yen, which includes delicacies like Hinakko Jidori and Kyoto duck. You can see the chef grilling skewers over charcoal right in front of you, which builds up anticipation.
Today's dishes included:
1. Fried eggplant with dipping sauce and chilled potato soup
2. Leafy green salad with orange dressing
3. Chicken liver pate
4. Grated daikon radish for chopstick rest
5. Skewered chicken breast
6. Skewered chicken liver with sauce
7. Skewered ginkgo nuts
8. Skewered Kyoto duck
9. Sweet citrus fruit with liver and seaweed simmered in soy sauce
10. Skewered skirt meat
11. Skewered heart meat
12. Skewered rib meat
Additional skewers of shishito pepper, leek, and chicken tail
13. Finishing minced chicken rice bowl with rich flavor
14. Hot and rich chicken soup
Drinks included draft beer, two types of white wine, one type of red wine, and sweet potato shochu. The food was satisfying and the service from the friendly male staff was impeccable. The balance of dishes, the delicious chicken, and the variety of wines available made for an enjoyable dining experience. With a price range of under 10,000 yen, the cost performance can be considered high. Thank you for the feast.

The Friday night was quite lively. The set with salad and 5 skewers of three types of chicken delicacies includes seseri, hatsu, Hinokko Jidori breast meat, Hinokko Jidori thigh meat, and you can add tsukune with Hinokko Jidori wing meat, hatsu, shiitake, and duck. The appetizer of carrot potage is delicious. The mushroom and cheese dish on the left is also tasty. The salad with spinach and lotus root dressing is good. The delicacies are decent, especially the hatsu, thigh meat, and wing meat are the best. The taste and cost performance are quite good.

An acquaintance who frequents yakitori restaurants introduced me to this place. The yakitori chef is very friendly and grills each skewer carefully with perfect heat. The rare cuts of meat were excellent. I could smell the nice charcoal aroma. I will definitely be coming back again.

Today's solo drinking at Yushima, a favorite yakitori restaurant ❤️ #7 course for 2,200 yen including quail eggs, liver pate, and appetizers. After drinking with siblings in Ueno, I went solo for the second round. Luckily, there was one seat available when I called. Yakitori is delicious, and every dish is amazing. The appetizers are also unique and change depending on the day, so it's always exciting. I recommend making a reservation. #SoloDrinking #Yakitori #Izakaya #YushimaDrinking #YushimaIzakaya #YushimaGourmet #NagoyaCochin #DrinkingTagram #FoodStagram #EatStagram #Tokyo #Yushima #YushimaStation #Torikei #Yakitori #JapaneseFood #JapaneseCuisine #Japan #Tokyo

I ordered the "Chicken Kei Course" at a yakitori restaurant in Okachimachi, which came with "draft beer, rosé wine, and white wine". It included 7 skewers of yakitori, liver pate, chicken rice with minced chicken, soup, and more. I also added a small portion of oyakodon. Personally, I really enjoyed the liver pate. Thank you for the meal, and thank you very much.

There is a stylish yakitori restaurant with several locations around the Yushima area. I made a reservation for the weekend and was seated at the counter. I started with a refreshing beer, which tasted amazing on a hot day. The appetizers were okra with grated cheese tofu in tomato sauce, light and perfect for summer. The 7-piece set included various types of chicken skewers, each with a unique and delicious flavor. The white wine I had paired well with the yakitori. The pickled vegetables were a nice palate cleanser. I also enjoyed a glass of red wine after the white wine, reaching a nice level of tipsiness. The service from the energetic staff made the experience even better. Overall, it was a delightful meal.

There are three shops in the Ueno area, and this seems to be the newest one. The interior of the shop had a clean impression with a beautiful counter! The customers seemed to be mostly older couples, creating a calm atmosphere. I chose a course menu. The meat was delicious and I was very satisfied. Since the menu did not include soup, I ordered chicken soup separately. I love the soup served at yakitori restaurants, and this one was rich and amazing. The course also included ochazuke, which was made by diluting the soup, but I thought the soup itself was rich and delicious, so I was glad I ordered the soup separately! I would like to visit this restaurant again! The service was good and the food was delicious! Thank you very much!

On a day off, I went to Ueno with my drinking buddies. Today, we were invited to "Ueno Kuromon Torie" by a friend. We started with a cheers with a fresh lemon sour! The appetizers were potato potage and black sesame tofu, both delicious. The chicken offal stew had a wonderful aroma and the chicken delicacies platter was a perfect match for drinks. We enjoyed some sake with it. The grilled items set included various delicious dishes like grilled quail and chicken skin. The grated radish with quail egg was a refreshing palate cleanser. The tender chicken liver and chicken meatball were also very tasty. The chicken and egg rice bowl had a unique flat chicken meat. The chicken soup and rolled omelette had a rich flavor. We had a great time enjoying delicious yakitori and sake like Karahashi, Tokonoma, Ryuryoku, and Sugata.

I came here based on the recommendation of an acquaintance who has been a regular customer for many years. The stylish atmosphere from the beginning made me excited. Since I was with a regular customer, I didn't choose from the menu and let them decide what to serve us. Each dish was carefully prepared and served at the perfect timing, making the drinks go down smoothly. Everything I ate was delicious, and they even finished with a satisfying rice dish. Originally, I had requested to be taken to a delicious yakitori restaurant, but I ended up enjoying a course of Japanese cuisine. I definitely want to go back again!

We enjoyed plenty of soba and tempura at a restaurant in the forest, and now we are heading back home in high spirits after having some drinks. The autumn breeze is refreshing as we stroll along the Sumida River embankment, admiring the view of the Tokyo Skytree. We decide to stop by a popular yakitori restaurant called Torie, where we are lucky to find a seat. The restaurant is crowded, with a lively atmosphere. We start off with some drinks and appetizers, but the salty seasoning on the grilled chicken skewers is a bit overwhelming. Despite this, we enjoy our meal and the experience overall. However, we notice that the young staff member grilling the skewers is a bit inexperienced, which affects the quality of the food. We finish our meal and quickly pay the bill, realizing that we haven't been back to this restaurant in a while due to these reasons.

I thought I knew every corner of Ueno, but new faces are popping up in the Kuromon area. I was invited by a junior colleague to a popular restaurant called "Toruei," which has been open for 5 years. Due to the current situation, it was surrounded by transparent acrylic panels for safety and peace of mind. Although it is a yakitori restaurant, there are hints of European flavors here and there. For example, the appetizer was a pumpkin mousse! The only alcohol available is beer and wine (no sake). Instead of dashi, they served a bouillon soup, among other unique dishes. In order to make a name for themselves in the food and beverage capital of Ueno, differentiation is necessary. It was packed from the early evening before the holiday, with a high turnover rate. The owner himself was grilling skewers at the open grill station, skewering and grilling meat one after another. The customers at the counter were cheering him on, appreciating his straightforward attitude. It was a long time since I've been to such a welcoming restaurant. The yakitori was undeniably delicious. Since my junior colleague is a regular, they grilled a rare part called "sori" for us, which was not on the menu. It was so meaty and flavorful! They also had a unique dish called chicken shumai, where chicken meat with a chewy texture is wrapped in sticky rice, creating a delightful combination in the mouth. For dessert, we had a half portion of minced chicken rice bowl. Although the portion of rice was half, the amount of minced chicken was plentiful, providing a satisfying meal! I found a great restaurant!
