After work on Friday at 8:30 pm, I found a cozy little place tucked away on a street just off Ujihashi Street, in front of Funaei. The entrance is not at the front, but you have to slide open the door on the right side to get in. The interior has a counter and two tables, creating a homely atmosphere. Since it was after work, I decided to have just one beer. The Ushitora summer orange sour was incredibly refreshing and crisp, with a pleasant bitterness. It was interesting that the English name didn't have the same nuance as "Kiraboshi". Although the price of over ¥1300 for a pint seemed a bit high, there was no cover charge and the food was reasonably priced, so it might be worth it if you don't drink too much. I'm curious about their curry for lunch as well.

I want to eat at a beer hall in a hard-to-find spot on Ujibashi Street, but they only serve beer. Can I just have a beer by myself since I can't have a meal? I was really hungry so I ordered a lot. I got the Russian Emperor Stout with 10% alcohol in a 250ml bottle. The pork belly stew had a strong aroma of star anise. The oden was very hearty. The spicy curry was delicious. And I also had their homemade Shimane Lager, which was easy to drink.

For lunch today, I had a two-flavor mixed spice curry at a craft beer shop in a residential area in Uji that was emitting a slightly intriguing aura. Mmm, delicious! While taking a break with some water, my heart was swaying at the craft beers lined up in front of me. However, I have another place to visit later, so I had to show great restraint as a responsible adult.

A stylish beer bar located a few minutes south of Uji Station, just across the road. Perfect for a drink after sightseeing. I had curry for a late lunch this time. Beer and curry go perfectly together. They were also preparing braised pork for the evening, which smelled amazing. They offer light snacks as well. The interior has a calm, brown wood tone. The restroom is shared inside the building and was recently renovated and very clean as of 2023. Note that they are closed in the afternoon on weekdays, but open from opening to closing on weekends. Craft beers are served by the staff, with rotating selections, and they also have a refrigerated case with canned and bottled beers for takeout. The staff is knowledgeable about the beers and happy to explain. There are six rotating draft beers, ranging from citrusy shandies to unique cocktail-like flavors. The refrigerated case has a variety of teas, stouts, and whiskey-flavored beers available for takeout.

In October, a valuable new restaurant opened near Ujihashi Street where you can enjoy daytime drinking. Located in the renovated Showa-era sake shop in Chuo-Uji BASE, the small craft beer specialty shop offers 6 varieties on tap, as well as canned and bottled beers for purchase. You can pay a corkage fee and enjoy your drink inside the shop. The tap selection includes a variety of ales, weizens, IPAs, and more from both domestic and international breweries. You can choose between a pint or a half pint. For food, they offer items like oden, dashimaki tamago, chirimen rice, mini pizzas, and nuts. The menu caters to different preferences and situations, although items may sell out quickly in the evenings.
