- Shop Atmosphere: Hello! This is Keinsuke. Today, I would like to introduce a pudding shop called "ann drop in" located in Karasuma, Kyoto. It's about a 10-minute walk from Karasuma Station towards Gojo. The shop is nestled in a residential area, blending in perfectly with the surrounding houses. They specialize in almond pudding made with real ingredients. The interior of the shop is a minimalist space with no unnecessary clutter. It's a small shop run by three staff members. The design of the shop is very appealing, with jars of almond pudding and baked goods displayed in the showcase. While the trend in town is to drink warabi mochi, here they offer NOM almond drinks. It seems like a great place to grab a takeout and explore the city. The flavors available are Berry, Coffee, and Pine. - Almond Pudding (350 yen): When you have all the flavors, you'll want to line them up neatly for a photo. The most popular flavor is Lemon, but I tried the Marble-patterned Mango and Hojicha first (see photo). I had the Lemon flavor at the shop. It was just the right balance of sweetness and sourness. The pudding was soft and smooth, not too firm. You scoop it up with the lemon sauce provided. - NOM Almond Coffee (480 yen): This drink is even more viscous and easy to drink than the almond pudding. You sip it with a thick straw along with the coffee jelly. - Almond Frangipane Canele (350 yen): They also offer baked goods made with their special almond ingredient. The outside is crispy while the inside is moist. I love Canele. It's delicious... - Shop Information: Shop Name: ann drop in Address: 6 Yabushitacho, Matsubara-dori Nishiiru, Toriiin Higashitoin, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Access: 10-minute walk from Karasuma Station (Hankyu) Phone: 075-888-4136 Hours: 10:00-19:00 Closed: Mondays (from February 2022) Customer Profile: ■ Solo Male ■ Male Group ■ Solo Female ■ Female Group ■ Students ■ Families ■ Elderly ■ Couples ■ Salarymen/OL Age Group: ■ 10-20s ■ 30-50s ■ 60s and above Remarks: ■ Private Room ■ Scenic View ■ Power Outlets ■ WiFi ■ Queueing ■ Reservations Recommended ■ Near Station ■ Instagrammable ■ Quiet ■ Long Stay Possible ■ Fun ■ Diet-friendly *Please note that the information provided is based on the visit at the time, and some discrepancies may exist due to using a photo blog article as a reference. Almond Tofu with Matcha ¥450. This almond tofu was not the typical creamy type, but rather had a firmer and chewier texture. It seems they put a lot of emphasis on using real almond powder. The flavors may vary depending on the day it is sold.

Stylish cafe and the latest sweets information can be found here ▶︎ @pudding_pr_ambassador A pudding specialty store that opened in the Karasuma area of Kyoto Prefecture on December 3, 2021. What makes it different from other puddings? Here, they specialize in almond tofu pudding made with carefully selected ingredients! The refreshing and wobbly almond tofu spreads in your mouth and is incredibly delicious. • Peach: A moist and soft peach jelly awaits at the bottom. It has a gentle sweetness of peaches with a hint of cherry sourness mixed in. • Hojicha: Unlike the others that are divided into two layers, this one is beautifully mixed. The refreshing almond tofu and the rich flavor of hojicha create a perfectly balanced aroma. • Grape: This is a new addition that I had the chance to try. The jelly is soft and filled with the strong aroma of grapes! It feels like eating a concentrated, authentic grape juice turned into jelly, which is delightful. • Coffee: Another new flavor here is coffee. The adult bitter taste pairs well with the refreshing sweetness of almond tofu. The aftertaste is just right! They also have a store in Arashiyama. ann drop in @ann_drop_in Kyoto, Kyoto City, Shimogyo Ward, Yabushitacho 6, MORE Gojo 2, 1st floor Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays 10:00-19:00

Located in Kyoto Prefecture, "ann drop in" is just a 4-minute walk from JR Saga Arashiyama Station! This time, I ordered the Matcha Almond Tofu for 500 yen, a take-out specialty store for almond tofu and pudding! The almond tofu has a creamy texture with plenty of almonds. It is milk-based, so it has a gentle flavor. It also contains matcha jelly and matcha sauce. A truly authentic matcha drink with a balance of sweetness and the aroma of matcha with a hint of bitterness. It is refreshing and easy to drink with a good throat feel. A must-try for those who love matcha and almond tofu. Recommended for when you want to try something different during your Arashiyama sightseeing! Address: 2-1 Saga Tenryuji Tsukurimichi-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture ⏱Business hours: 11:00-15:30 Closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and rainy days Instagram @foodyukichan

On this day, I went on a Kyoto trip with colleagues in the same industry, taking the day off together. We planned out a route and timetable to visit several shops, and set out for our adventure. We arrived in Kyoto smoothly and leisurely wandered around. We got off at Karasuma Station. The nearest station is Gojo Station, but there are also other stations like Shijo Station nearby, so you can take a walk around and explore various shops. The simple and small shop interior, mainly in white, displayed almond tofu in bottles. However, they offered almond and agar pudding here. I ordered a roasted green tea. There was a simple bench outside the shop, so I enjoyed my dessert there. While you might expect almond tofu, it's actually almond and agar pudding, which may surprise you. I found it impressive how they focused on almonds and created a variety of unique items like "almond drink" and "almond sweets". The Kyoto trip continues. Thank you for the meal.

A couple's autumn trip to Kyoto. Purchased almond pudding that had been on my mind for a while. [Summary] SOU Almond [Lemon] 400 yen. Almond and pudding with a diameter of about 40mm and a height of 30mm. The top 20mm is almond pudding, and the bottom 10mm is lemon jelly. The pudding has a soft and smooth texture, not very milky but with a strong almond flavor. The jelly is soft and sticky, complementing the almond well. The refreshing lemon adds a deliciousness similar to a cheesecake. It lasts for four days including the purchase date. Almond Cannele 380 yen. Cannele with a diameter of about 35mm and a height of 30mm. It has a bread-like texture, not very rich. It is sweet but with a Chinese-style sweetness. The almond flavor comes through subtly. It lasts for five days including the purchase date.

A trip to Kyoto in autumn with my wife. We visited a almond pudding shop we had been curious about and got drinks to go. 14:45 - entered the shop and placed our order, 14:50 - received our drinks. Summary: NOM Almond [Coffee] 500 yen. The almond pudding was delicious. Inside, there was coffee jelly, almond pudding, coffee, milk, and cream. The cream seemed to be slightly frozen. The milk pudding had a smooth almond scent. As the cream softened and mixed in, it gradually became sweeter over time.

Ann Drop In is a specialty store for almond and Japanese pudding located in Matsubara Kyogoku shopping street. The simple exterior, bright glass interior with white tones, and a showcase filled with bottled Japanese puddings. Their almond and Japanese pudding uses only real almond powder without any unnecessary ingredients. The finishing touch with real bracken powder creates a unique and chewy Japanese texture. On the day of my visit, there were 7 flavors available, with the lemon being the most popular. After some deliberation, I chose the "peach" flavor (400 yen). It had a smooth texture, not too firm, with a delicate aroma of natural almonds spreading in the mouth. Enjoying it with the homemade peach sauce allows for a delightful change in taste. It's irresistible for almond jelly lovers.

Overall, the almond we usually eat is made from the natural high-quality ingredient "almond" taken from the core of the seed. It is made without any additives such as coloring agents, flavorings, or thickeners, so it is safe to eat and good for families with children. I saw it on Instagram and went to buy it. I bought a variety of items. ★ Almond Pudding A pudding made with almond powder and real warabi powder. The two layers of almond and the swirling almond look very cute. The swirling almond comes in mango, hojicha, while the layered almond comes in apricot, matcha, peach, lemon. The taste changes depending on the timing. It has a strong almond flavor and is delicious. It comes in a sturdy box or bottle, making it a great gift. ★ Almond Cannele It is a fluffy type rather than crispy. I warmed it up in the oven when I got home. ★ NOM (drinkable) Almond ★ Berry Berry Sauce is homemade and additive-free. ★ Coffee The frozen cream floats on top. Once it melts, it becomes creamy, and there is coffee jelly at the bottom. It is a convenient store to visit. I will come back to buy for myself or as a gift.

I came here to buy souvenirs and sweets for myself. I have always loved almond tofu! The shop is located east of Nishinoto-in in Matsubara, facing south on Matsubara Street. This area is one of my favorite walking spots, and it brings back some nostalgic memories as my grandmother's house is nearby. The exterior of the shop has a modern feel with white as the main color. Inside, there are various types of almond and agar pudding lined up! After much contemplation, I decided to get the following: peach, mango, lemon, and red bean, each priced at 400 yen. These four items come in cute round containers filled with almond pudding! I immediately tried them out. The pudding is made without using a coagulant, giving it a unique chewy texture using bracken starch. The texture changes depending on the temperature, and it is recommended to wait for about 10 minutes after taking it out of the refrigerator before eating. First, I tried the lemon flavor! It has a gentle melt-in-your-mouth texture, with a pleasant softness and the aroma of almond spreading throughout the mouth. Delicious! There is a layer of lemon at the bottom, enhancing the perfect match of sweet and sour lemon with almond. The mango flavor has a swirl of mango layer mixed with almond pudding. It looks appealing! One bite reveals the fruity taste of mango complementing the sweetness of almond. Delicious! Above all, this almond pudding is truly amazing. The softness, melt-in-your-mouth texture, and aroma are all perfect! I want to eat a bucket full of it. Personally, I recommend the lemon flavor. It is a delicious almond pudding that will be appreciated as a gift or for personal enjoyment. Thank you for the meal.

Almond and Lemon Soy Milk Pudding for 400 yen. Almond and Apricot Soy Milk Pudding for 400 yen. Situation: I visited the store around 3:00 PM on Friday, placed my order immediately. Couple Points: There is no seating inside the store, so I took it to go and had a home date. Taste: The friendly staff shared their passion for soy milk pudding. It was firm when cold, but softened after a while, offering two different textures. It was delicious on its own, and also tasty when mixed with the sauce. As a fan of almond tofu, I was very satisfied. Others: Credit cards accepted, Papay accepted, transportation IC cards accepted.

I visited a shop in Japan that was featured in the latest issue of the magazine LEAF, which is known for having hard-to-find almond desserts. The shop is called anndropin and is located about a 5-minute walk from Karasuma Station in Matsubara Nishi-doin. I love almond tofu, so I had to go! The main item is almond and matcha pudding, but I had to pass on it this time because I had other plans. I bought the NOM almond drink and almond canelé. Just a heads up, the almond canelé got squished in transit, so no photo of that, haha. The almond drink comes in three flavors: berry, pineapple, and coffee. I chose berry this time. It was quite refreshing ✨ Unlike the ones you find in stores, it doesn't have added fragrance or almond flavoring. It's a very refreshing milk drink that is easy to drink. I'd like to try the pudding next time. Almonds are said to moisten the lungs in traditional Chinese medicine, so it seems good for the body too.

This is still a new shop. It has almond pudding as its specialty, and as a big fan of almonds, I couldn't pass it up (lol). I decided to visit on my own before lunch with my husband. I was planning to buy the basic plain almond pudding, but they didn't have it (sweat). Instead, they had almond pudding in jars mixed with other ingredients. I was a bit unsure, but I chose the kinako (soybean flour) flavor. I also noticed almond-flavored canelés and decided to get two, one for my daughter and one for myself. I tried the kinako almond pudding as soon as I got back to the hotel. Hmm... the kinako flavor was quite strong, and the almond aroma was weak, so it didn't quite hit the spot for me. As for the canelé (almond), it tasted the same as the plain canelé at first, but as I continued eating, I could definitely sense a gentle almond aroma that was delicious. Both my daughter and I liked it. The shop had a lovely Japanese-modern atmosphere. I saw in other reviews that they also started offering financiers. I would like to stop by again when I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal~.

Located three doors east of Nishinoto-in Matsubara. There is no parking for cars, so I parked at the coin parking in Nishinoto-in. It seems like a shop on the first floor of a newly built apartment in a residential area. I came to buy because I heard it is a specialty store for almond jelly. It is indeed delicious as almond jelly, but at 340 yen each, it feels a bit expensive. I also bought some different flavors and canelé, and overall, that's my impression. However, if you want to give it as a gift with 6 pieces, it has a nice appearance, so it might be unique and good for that purpose.

I found out about a specialty almond and pudding shop, so I decided to visit after lunch. There were 7 varieties of almond pudding lined up, and among them, the mango, lemon, and chocolate flavor stood out. It was refreshing, smooth, and melted in my mouth. My favorite flavor was the lemon, which had a nice tanginess to it. The almond pudding was delicious!

I discovered this shop on my Instagram timeline and when I visited, I found it to be quite hidden in a hard-to-find location for those unfamiliar with Kyoto's geography. There is no parking nearby, but there are coin parking lots on the main street. They only offer takeout and do not have an eat-in area. Their main item is the "Almond Pudding" available in 7 varieties, including 3 drink types. They also sell canelés. The concept of the shop is to use real ingredients without additives to create products that are kind to the body. I purchased 5 "Almond Puddings" for dessert after my meal. The "SOU Almond (Berry)" has a two-layered structure with almond on top and berry jelly on the bottom. The berries are likely strawberry and raspberry, adding a sweet and sour taste that complements the almond well. The "SOU Almond (Lemon)" is the most popular item recommended by the shop, with almond on top and lemon jelly on the bottom. It has a refreshing taste with a subtle acidity that disappears quickly. The "SOU Almond (Matcha)" has almond on top and matcha jelly on the bottom, with matcha powder sprinkled on top. The bitterness of matcha and the freshness of almond blend well together, making it a favorite. The "UZU Almond (Mango)" features almond and mango sauce swirling together, offering a contrast between the rich sweetness of mango and the freshness of almond. The "UZU Almond (Chocolate)" has almond and chocolate sauce swirling together, with tiny chocolate pieces in the sauce. It would be better if the chocolate pieces were slightly larger for better texture and presence. Overall, each product has a balanced flavor with almond being the main focus, and their small bottle sizes make them perfect for desserts in a course meal or as gifts.
