This is an old dining and café shop located on Student Street. Although there used to be many similar shops, they have become fewer recently. They are famous for their homemade hamburgers, which offer a traditional taste. They have various lunch sets available during the day, at reasonable prices and good portions. I think even young students will be satisfied here.

The set meal with hamburger and fried shrimp costs 700 yen. I added extra rice for 100 yen, coffee for 200 yen. I prefer to eat fried shrimp with soy sauce, but they don't lend out condiments. The portion of the main dish is not enough after adding extra rice. I ended up eating pasta as a side dish with rice. The rice is deliciously fluffy. The hamburger has a good texture with plenty of onions. The demi-glace sauce is rich. It was delicious to dip the pasta in the demi-glace sauce.

Visited for lunch and ordered the F set (hamburger and cream croquette set). The hamburger had a strong salt and pepper seasoning, with a firm texture and good bite. It was on the smaller side but still satisfying. It paired well with the slightly bitter demiglace sauce, typical of a cozy cafe. The cream croquette had a thin, crispy coating and a gentle-flavored bechamel sauce. The seasoning was light, but when combined with the rich hamburger, it created a nice balance.

This is a B-grade gourmet restaurant in Kyoto, specializing in Western-style dishes centered around hamburgers. This time, I wanted to taste both white sauce and demi-glace sauce at once, so I ordered a half-and-half menu. The demi-glace sauce had a rich taste, with a slightly red wine-like flavor. It was a mature taste. The portion was generous and satisfying.

I ordered the Set (special hamburger and cream croquette set) for 700 yen, which was a good deal. I thought it might be a large portion since it's in a student area, but the amount was normal. The hamburger is a signature menu item and it was delicious. The cream croquette feels a bit cold.

In March to April, we will be running two serializations almost simultaneously: "2022 Meaty 30 Match" and "2022 Seafood 30 Match". The seafood series will focus on dishes where seafood is a key component, rather than the main ingredient. In the 22nd installment of the "2022 Meaty 30 Match", we visited "Million" in Demachiyanagi, Kyoto. We ordered the homemade hamburger with demi-glace sauce (350g) for 1150 yen, and a large serving of rice for 100 yen.

The homemade hamburger steak at Curry Hamburg Demachiyanagi is really delicious. It's completely different from the ones you find at family restaurants, with meat juice oozing out in a dramatic way. The curry sauce is slightly sweet but has a good kick of spices. The portion size is perfect. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Located in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It's a little over a 10-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station on the Keihan line, just before reaching the Hyakumanben intersection. I originally planned to go to the main branch of Chicken Katsu for the Jumbo Cheese Chicken Katsu. However, I made a big mistake... I forgot that it was a holiday... In this situation, I decided to go all out and ordered the Double Sauce'n Burg (950 yen + extra large rice 100 yen) plate with salad. The salad was generous with lettuce, cabbage, and a bit of carrot. I chose the Russian demi-glace sauce and the white sauce. The Russian sauce had a nice bitterness and richness, while the white sauce was gentle. The well-cooked hamburger had a meaty texture and was satisfying. I also ordered the garlic rice, forgetting that it was a large portion. Despite the oversight, I managed to finish the meal. The garlic flavor in the rice was not overpowering. Overall, the meal was affordable for two hamburgers and the water was also delicious. If you want to try different sauces at once, this is the place to go!

A million times at the intersection diagonally into the back alley, a retro Showa-style illustration with a cold color scheme. A modest atmosphere with a signboard enthusiastically promoting the sale of home-roasted coffee beans, almost like a coffee specialty store. The name on the board is "Million" because it's located in Hyakumanben, and this cliché naming actually adds to the impact. I chose the Omu-Hamburg. You can choose between Demi-glace sauce or Chili sauce for the hamburg. If the hamburg has Chili sauce, then the Omu-rice has Demi-glace sauce, and if the hamburg has Demi-glace sauce, then the Omu-rice has ketchup. I chose the Chili Hamburg. The side salad is a mound of coleslaw with pink pickles for added color. The large Hamburg is tender and juicy, with a perfect blend of meat juice and the sweetness of onions. The outer layer has a nice sear, and the Chili sauce is more sweet than spicy, enhancing the flavor of the tomatoes. The Omu-rice is generous in portion, with a slightly thin layer of egg around it. The Chicken rice contains onions, carrots, and a large piece of chicken, sautéed lightly with ketchup and well-seasoned with salt and pepper. The rice portion is about three times that of a regular rice bowl. The Demi-glace sauce has a depth of flavor that is hard to replicate at home. The staff, with a simple appearance, are gentle and attentive to customers even when busy. The customers range from families, students, to international guests, creating a diverse clientele. It's a beloved tea shop in the student district where you can enjoy a hearty meal in a warm and cozy atmosphere.

C set ✨ This is only 700 yen. It's so cheap that it's worrying. The hamburger is delicious without complaint, and the shrimp fry is also crispy and very tasty. I really love this tartar sauce. I will come back again (*^^*)

Not bad. The hamburger is small, but it's good value for money.
