It's been a while since I visited "Yaoki," located just a minute's walk from JR Rokujiizo Station. Despite being right in front of the station, it's a calm and relaxing place to enjoy. This time, a few of us visited and enjoyed the appetizers, which were different for each person and perfect for sharing. The specialty here is the "Konjou Jock" - a 1-liter jug that allows you to savor your drink for a long time. It's great for those who like to drink at a fast pace. The fruit sake series with fruit pulp is perfect for those who prefer fruity flavors over alcohol. The top recommendation for grilled dishes is the "Daruma Yaki" - a fluffy and thick pancake with a soft texture. The croquette is sweet and delicious, while the burdock tempura highlights the natural sweetness of the ingredients. The Yuba roll (with shrimp) is light on the outside and plump with shrimp on the inside. The clam sake steamed dish has a delicious soup that you must try in between drinks. The restaurant isn't too crowded, allowing each group to enjoy a leisurely time.

I ordered Daruma-yaki. It was a round and raised okonomiyaki with chewy mochi, cheese, and pork inside. The cheese around the edges was crispy, and the mixture of okonomiyaki batter, mochi, and pork inside was gooey and delicious. The Omusoba Meshi was fluffy with eggs, crispy soba, and a hint of garlic which made it tasty. They kindly asked if I wanted garlic in it.

Just off Rokujizo Station, you'll find "Yaoki" as soon as you exit the ticket gate and turn left. It's rare to see a shop right in front of a train station like this. There are counter seats, table seats, and even seats around a sunken hearth. The clam sake-steamed soup was light yet flavorful, and the plump fried smelt tempura was delicious. The fluffy rolled omelette was also a hit. The drink menu offers beer, shochu, makgeolli, and seasonal alcoholic beverages to complement the tasty food.

Located right outside the ticket gate of Rokujizo Station on the JR Nara Line, this shop caught my eye every time I passed by with its enticing menu board. Today, I finally decided to step inside. The interior had a mix of table seating and counter seating, and despite the crowd, the spacious layout made it feel comfortable and not too noisy. We ordered a few appetizers and dishes to go with our drinks, and everything was delicious! The sashimi was fresh and top-notch. The highlight was the specialty "Daruma-yaki" okonomiyaki, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that was absolutely addictive. The garlic-flavored chicken karaage was also tasty. Overall, I found this place to be very convenient and enjoyable. Being so close to the station, I had never thought to visit before, but now I definitely want to come back!
