I visited on the first day of the consecutive holidays. Maybe because only beer lovers come here, even though I made a reservation the day before, it was full, but there weren't many young people, so I was able to relax. The large beer jugs, about 1.3 liters, seemed to be very popular, and many people were ordering them. I've been to the one in Kawaramachi before, but this one gave me a more casual beer hall vibe, and the menu wasn't too expensive and had a wide variety of items, which was good. The male staff members were attentive, and the food, especially the spare ribs, were recommended! They said it would take 40 minutes from ordering, but the volume, taste, and side dishes were all delicious, and just this alone was enough to enjoy with beer. It's a shame that the sense of volume doesn't come across in the photos...but really, I recommend it.

Visited for the second time around 15:00. No crowds, easy to enter. My first impression was that the beer was so expensive! It was close to 700 yen, I think? The sausages were also small, which was disappointing. It's located near the station, so I understand it must be tough, but I would consider revisiting if the prices were a bit more reasonable.

The season for delicious beer is here! Feeling thirsty and craving a beer hall, I thought of going to one, but it was packed at Kyoto Station on a Friday! I recommend making a reservation. Luckily, we lined up and got in (^o^) The beer sizes at the beer hall are great, with the large size being really big! The menu has a variety of options, from classic fried chicken to Western dishes and snacks. There are also light options available, which is nice. The fish & chips and onion rings were delicious. Instead of pasta, I tried the fried udon. When you just want to drink beer, there are plenty of different types to choose from and it's fun! The location is super convenient, right in front of Kyoto Station. I didn't even realize there was a place like this here.

I went to Asahi Beer Hall Super Dry with my colleagues. We chose Peroni Nastro Azzurro, a beer from Italy under the Asahi umbrella, and Extra Gold Double Cultured Calpis in addition to three Super Dry beers. We also selected a few dishes. Since it was a directly managed store, the food had a freshly made taste and was delicious. However, I was expecting the ice-cold beer to be served in a frozen glass, but it was just moderately cold. If this is the standard at a directly managed store, I don't think I'll be drinking here again. The dishes were all well-prepared and tasty, but the portions were extremely small, and I ended up feeling full from the beer.

I have visited this restaurant many times and it is one of my favorites. They have delicious food that pairs well with beer, and I like to come here when I want to drink a lot of beer. We often have company drinking parties here. It's great to be able to have a lively time with everyone. In the photo, the drink is not beer, but a mix of orange juice and Mitsuya Cider.

Super Dry Renaissance. Just a 1-minute walk from Kyoto Station! Located on the basement floor of the Serema Building, this is a place where you can enjoy various types of Asahi beer and meat dishes. The wide variety of Asahi beer will make you realize how many types there are, and you can enjoy various meat dishes that go well with the beer. It's a hidden gem being underground, and it's not too crowded even during the day. So, you can enjoy it even for lunch.

I got full at a standing bar in Kawaramachi, so I decided to walk to JR Kyoto Station to lower my blood sugar. But maybe I'm getting old. I don't have the same appetite as before (laughs). "Well, how about having a beer!" I changed my mindset and visited a beer restaurant called "Super Dry Renaissance". It's an Asahi Group directly managed store located in the basement of a building in front of the station. I entered the store alone just before 2 pm. Despite it being early afternoon, the store was bustling with many customers. The unique beer hall atmosphere reminiscent of Europe is wonderful. Sitting at the counter, I looked at the menu and found that there were affordable and small-sized dishes for one person. I first ordered "Sauerkraut/380 yen" and "Grilled Spicy Sausage/430 yen" from the "easy & small size" menu, along with an Italian beer "Peroni Nastro Azzurro/800 yen". The "Peroni Nastro Azzurro" had a light taste typical of Italian beer. It was refreshing and easy to drink. After finishing it quickly, I added a second glass of "Asahi Draft Beer Black/630 yen". Sauerkraut was served in a large plate with a generous amount. It was a bit oily overall (laughs). The small-sized "Grilled Spicy Sausage" was a bit lacking in volume. Sauerkraut was also served with this dish. Perhaps due to the two beers, my appetite couldn't be suppressed, so I added "Beer Hall Fried Chicken & Potato Fries/800 yen" and "Ice Vine (Small)/880 yen". There was nothing particularly noteworthy about the fried chicken and potato fries, but it felt like a classic beer hall dish. After waiting for over 30 minutes and not receiving the Ice Vine, I used a coupon from the Tabelog app to order a "Freezing Highball/650 yen→free". The Ice Vine is a German dish made by simmering pork shank until tender. It had a taste that truly felt authentic, making me want to try making it at home if possible. The Highball and Ice Vine were the final blow, and my stomach was at its limit (^_^;) I paid with PayPay and ended my drinking tour for the day. I walked happily to Nanae Station and headed home.

I visited a full-fledged beer hall with my boss after work on the evening of October 14, 2022, around 5 PM. It was very crowded due to it being a Friday night, but we were seated at a table with the condition that we leave by 7 PM. We opted for the two-hour all-you-can-drink option, which was perfect. Being able to drink plenty of beer at a genuine beer hall is quite wonderful! Orders were placed using the trendy QR code system. We enjoyed edamame and sausages as our snacks, which were satisfying classics. I drank too much!

Located on Higashi Shio-koji Shimokoji-agaru, Higashinotoin-dori, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, "Asahi Super Dry Extra" is a beer hall that I wanted to visit around Kyoto Station after reading reviews on Tabelog. It was my first stop on the second day of my solo trip to Kyoto for 2 nights and 3 days, which I called "Kyoto Gourmet Journey". I arrived around 5:30 pm, and the place was quite crowded. I was seated at a 4-person table in a restaurant with a total of 179 seats. "Asahi Super Dry" is a beer hall chain with locations across the country. I had enjoyed Asahi Super Dry the previous night at "Asahi Super Dry Kyoto," so I wanted to continue the enjoyment at a different location. I started with a "Asahi Super Dry Draft Beer Small Mug" for 335 yen, along with "Regular Fried Chicken" for 960 yen and "Edamame" for 380 yen. They have a happy hour service from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm on weekdays, where you can get the "Asahi Super Dry Draft Beer Small Mug" and "Asahi Super Dry Dry Black Small Mug" for 335 yen each, and shochu and plum wine for 300 yen each. I managed to order my third beer just before the happy hour ended at 6:00 pm. Even though it was past 6:00 pm, the staff kindly allowed me to order one more drink. It's a great service for those who enjoy drinking a lot. The "Asahi Super Dry Draft Beer Small Mug" is the size of a typical mug you would find at an izakaya. The first beer came with a complimentary serving of popcorn. The "Fried Chicken" is made using Bitchu Kogen chicken from Okayama Prefecture, marinated for 8 hours. The regular order comes with 6 pieces of juicy and crispy fried chicken. It's delicious, but be careful of the bones. Edamame is a perfect snack to accompany the beer. I quickly finished my drinks and ordered a "Asahi Super Dry Draft Beer Medium Mug" for 980 yen and "Potato Salad" for 480 yen. The medium mug is larger than the small mug you get at izakayas. The potato salad was tasty and had a good portion size. I recommend this place to Asahi Super Dry fans.

Around 1700, four of us visited this restaurant. I was embarrassed to not know that there was such a space on the basement floor of a building near Kyoto Station. The interior of the restaurant is spacious. We were guided to a table at the back, but the staff quickly attended to us. During Happy Hour, you can get beer at a discounted price. As expected from an Asahi Beer direct-operated store, there are plenty of snacks that go well with beer. The roast beef is peppery and complements the beer nicely. The chicken Karaage is large and juicy. The steak is tender and delicious. We had to eat quickly due to time constraints, but it was a satisfying meal. I will come back again when I have more time.

I went to a company drinking party. The silver one is still the best. I drank too much, maybe I was forced to drink too much. I'm not good at drinking in a noisy atmosphere. I want to drink slowly and leisurely.

The area around Kawaramachi Sanjo is nice, but this place also has a good atmosphere.

I had a few drinks at a social gathering and then went with the flow. I had 3 half pints of pale ale at a big, slightly messy bar where everyone was lively. It was around 8:30 PM on Saturday. The ale had a nice aroma and tasted good. I don't think I paid 1500 yen either. If you can drink cheaply here, it's not bad. Good place.
