I went for a drink at a bar and on my way back, I felt like I hadn't had enough to drink, so I decided to stop by again! Even though it was my second visit, they remembered me which made me happy. I told them that I hadn't eaten enough and they quickly prepared a platter of appetizers and a smaller portion of risotto for me. I also had two glasses of white wine which I really enjoyed! The simple risotto was surprisingly delicious, I was amazed by how good it was! I left feeling happy and satisfied. By the way, on my previous visit, I tried the 2500 yen set for one person, which was also very appealing! You can choose 5 items from a variety of options, it's such a great deal. The owner is very calm and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxing. It feels like visiting a relative's cozy place. I highly recommend it to everyone! A solo-friendly Italian restaurant! Cheap and delicious! ☑️ Solo Set Menu for 2,500 yen (tax included) - Grilled vegetable marinade - Potato salad - Young corn anchovy sauté - Steamed eggplant and pancetta sauté with anchovy sauce - Brown mash and onion cream sauce Linguine Not your typical set menu, you can choose your favorite dishes from three categories: ① two light appetizers or snacks, ② two single dishes, and ③ one pasta or risotto dish! (photos available!) With over 10 options for each, it was hard to decide because everything looked so delicious. The owner kept an eye on my eating pace and served the dishes accordingly, making me feel like I was truly enjoying a solo course meal. The wine was also incredibly tasty. There was a bit of a wait, so the owner played the piano in the restaurant. The addition of piano music elevated the atmosphere to a luxurious Italian dining experience. I was surprised to find such a place near Gojo Station, and it's within walking distance from Shijo Station as well. Of course, they also offer regular menu items aside from the solo dining menu! Around 10:30pm, I visited this place. Most shops are closed at this time so it was convenient for me after working late. They offer a set menu for one person (5 dishes) for 2,500 yen, and a beer or wine for 4,150 yen. The dishes were all delicious but the portion size was small. Since it was late at night, it was okay. If it was a normal dinner time, it might not have been enough. Thank you for the meal!

Includes potato salad, smoked salted mackerel, rosemary-flavored confit chicken wings, steamed eggplant and pancetta sautéed in balsamic sauce, and simple cheese risotto. Also, young corn with anchovy sauté. The restaurant is popular among regular customers, but even solo diners can feel comfortable. If you have time, you can enjoy the master's piano performance.

I was attracted by the mini course for solo diners and decided to dine in. Every ingredient was carefully selected and very delicious. I forgot to take a photo, but the young corn with anchovy sauté was a perfect match with wine♫ Be careful not to drink too much. The fondant chocolat was also delicious, hot and gooey! The owner chatted with me in just the right way, so I could enjoy food and drinks without feeling awkward dining alone. I promised to visit again when I come to Kyoto. Friday 18:40 I stopped by Barcetta. There were two groups of four guests each and three solo female guests already seated. I had planned to go for the cost-effective solo set (2,160 yen), but upon entering, the owner mentioned that since everyone arrived at the same time, the food might take a while. So, I decided to go easy and changed my strategy. I ordered a set of three appetizers (1,350 yen) which included 1. Various cheese and olive marinade, 2. Mini vegetable appetizer, 3. Today's appetizer + 1 drink (up to 770 yen). 18:49 Sparkling wine arrived. It was priced at 770 yen on the menu, so it was nice to be able to order it with the appetizer set. It was a crisp and dry wine. While sipping my drink, I noticed that the owner and a trainee staff member were managing the place amidst the groups of guests enjoying their weekend chats. They seemed quite busy. 18:56 The appetizer arrived. It was served on slim plates. The mini vegetable appetizer was potato salad, and the today's appetizer was marinated tofu in miso? sauce. They all paired well with the alcohol and were delicious. It seemed like the owner was handling all the cooking, and although the place wasn't full, the serving pace was slow, possibly due to a shortage of staff. However, I personally liked the atmosphere and the food. The owner was cooking while also giving advice on wine choices to customers, displaying friendly customer service. In the end, two foreigners who arrived later were told that the food would take time and they decided not to enter and left. As for me, I was thinking about what to do over the upcoming three-day weekend while enjoying my meal. The appetizers were seasoned in a way that made you crave for more alcohol, so I felt like having another drink if I stayed longer. Dangerous, dangerous.
