Rokkatei is a favorite of mine, but I didn't know about this one. Butter cake and okagesama. This was recommended by someone I was with, Janduya Suki? Yes, I like it. It's not something you see often in the Kanto region. Indeed... The crispy monaka dough with Janduya, so fragrant and light in texture, this is really good. I thought the butter cake would be overly buttery, but it's not that much. In fact, the walnuts sandwiched in between are very sweet and heavy. It's great to be able to try a variety of things and the option to buy individual pieces is good.

The restaurant is located in the basement of the Marui Imai Hakodate store, right in front of Goryokaku Koen-mae Station on the tram. There are a few tables and chairs, so you can eat in. I bought the Tsukimi for 130 yen, and the zunda bean paste looked delicious. The fluffy dough was also tasty. I also bought the Marseille Butter Sand for 125 yen, which is always delicious. I love it.

Six-flower selection 17 pieces for 2400 yen. Marseille Butter Sand for 130 yen. Purchased some sweets at Rokkatei. This set includes classic Marseille Butter Sand, Ohirahara, and Choco Marron. It's a reasonable assortment with classic flavors that will surely be appreciated as a gift. I bought Marseille Butter Sand for myself as a single item.

This is Rokkatei located in the basement of Marui Imai Hakodate store. Although the store area is not very large, it seems to have a good selection of products. They have Marusei Butter Sand butter, Chinese buns, yogurt, and more. The custard pudding was consistently delicious.

There are various sweets available at Rokkatei, but I still think that the Marseille Butter Sand is the best. This time, I consciously chose a nostalgic souvenir from Hakodate, and ended up selecting the Marseille Butter Sand, which is well-known as one of the top Hokkaido souvenirs. I purchased 6 boxes of the 5-piece set (650 yen each) as souvenirs for my work colleagues in Kyoto and Nara. At a memorial service, I sampled the butter sand that was served. It was not too sweet, not too heavy, and the raisins were soft and delicious! The cookie had just the right firmness. It truly is the flagship of Hokkaido souvenirs! For people in Kyoto and Nara who are accustomed to rich flavors, I think they would appreciate the classic Hokkaido souvenir more. This time, I bought all souvenirs other than seafood from the long-established department store in Hakodate, Maruiimai Department Store, and had them all sent to my home by courier!

After finishing sightseeing at Goryokaku, I wanted to think about what souvenirs to buy for my return home tomorrow. I explored the depachika (food basement) of Marui Imai, a department store near Goryokaku. There, I found this shop. This famous Hokkaido confectionery maker is known nationwide for their butter sandwiches and strawberry chocolates. Since I have tried those two items before and know their taste, this time I decided to purchase two items that I have never tried before but caught my eye based on their appearance. Unlike souvenir shops at airports or train stations, it's nice that you can buy individual items to try at tenant shops in department stores. - Beko Mochi (\90 before tax): A Japanese confectionery with a parasol-like pattern in white and brown. I enjoyed the sweetness and flavor of black sugar, along with the texture of the rice cake. - Marseille Butter Cake (\125 before tax): While I have seen butter sandwiches many times, this was my first time seeing a butter cake. It looks like Siberia, but it is a moist sponge cake with a rich butter aroma, filled with a fragrant caramel. Afterwards, I searched for various souvenir items, but ultimately, I did not purchase any as I considered the recipient's preferences and cost. For some reason, I ended up writing a sentence on the lines of a job application prayer email on Tabelog (and to a thing, not a person), but that just shows how many diverse and high-quality souvenir options there are in Hokkaido, making it difficult to choose. Among the many Hokkaido souvenirs, the products from this well-known confectionery shop were delicious with rich aromas, both Japanese and Western. Thank you for the meal.

[2014.08.01 Visit] Location: This shop is located on the basement floor of Marui, close to Goryokaku Koen Station on the streetcar. I visited around 12:40 on a weekday. The store wasn't too crowded, and among many traditional Japanese sweets, I bought a custard pudding for 159 yen. They carefully put a cold pack on it and placed it in a beautiful box, which was a nice service. The expiration date was about 3 days, so I had it on the same night I bought it. Honestly, the taste was not much different from custard puddings sold in convenience stores. There was a layer of slightly bitter caramel under the custard pudding, which wasn't too bad in terms of balance, and the sweetness was moderate. Thank you for the meal.

Located about a 2-minute walk from Goryokaku Koen-mae Station. Check the map on "Tabelog" for the exact location. - Chocomaron - A long-time bestseller. It consistently maintains a great taste, in my opinion, it's one of the top sweets from Rokkatei. Some people find it too sweet, but I personally enjoy that level of sweetness. I visited around 2 pm and almost all the products were available.

I felt like eating pudding, so I bought various types to try. - Chocolate Pudding: It was delicious but too sweet for me. I got full after a few bites. - Custard Pudding: It was more on the refreshing side, not too rich. - Sesame Pudding: Good for sesame lovers. The subtle sesame flavor was delicious. - Creme Brulee (no image): The most delicious one I tried. It was rich and creamy. Overall, I would be happy to receive the other puddings as gifts, but I wouldn't buy them for myself. I would rate them around 2.5 stars out of 5.

I received this as a souvenir. I was told to avoid the usual gift from Rokkatei, so I got a set of four 40g mini chocolate bars. The packaging is semi-transparent with a beautiful flower design unique to Rokkatei. The flavors included white (butterbur sprout), mocha white (adonis), milk (Japanese rose), and bittersweet (Japanese winterberry). The mini chocolate bars were firm and I kept them in the fridge before eating them due to the warm weather. I found the taste to be a bit light as I am used to stronger, more intense chocolate flavors. Even though I don't eat a lot of sweets, I do enjoy chocolate and ice cream. However, I find cold, firm chocolate to be too intense. The mocha flavor was my favorite as it had a subtle coffee taste. The chocolate bars also had flower designs embossed on them. Overall, it was a nice little treat as a souvenir.

Every time I go to Marui Imai in Hakodate, I struggle between choosing the Snow Falls Cheese Souffle or the Rokkatei's Ohiradaira. I absolutely love the rich buttery aroma of Ohiradaira. Next, I really enjoy the castella series, and the matcha castella seems to stand out as the most delicious. The packaging is also cute. Lately, I've been hooked on "Yukiya Konkon," with its crispy cookie dough that isn't too sweet and pairs well with white chocolate. It's the favorite among my friends in Tokyo!

I received this as a souvenir from a trip. It's from the well-known Rokkatei brand, but this is the first time I've seen this particular snack. As written on the package, it was a crispy cappuccino-flavored snack that had a light and crispy texture. The mature taste of cappuccino was also nice, truly living up to the Rokkatei name. I would love to try it again.

Rokkatei is a monthly treat snack shop aiming to conquer all of Rokkatei's offerings. Today's reservation for March pickup is "botamochi." - Snack shop (early Valentine's Day): "Every year it's popular," they say. Last year, when I went to make a reservation, they were sold out in February. It's a set of four: * Praline Eclair: I'm not sure what praline is, but it has chocolate cream. * Mont Blanc: Surprisingly mild for a Mont Blanc. * Sachertorte: I love Sachertorte, and this one is a cake, not a torte, with sweet and sour apricot jam. * Foret Noire: A chocolate cake. Bonus: Fresh Caramel. The box said "with bonus," and I wondered what it was. It turned out to be two pieces of fresh caramel, which were so delicious that I couldn't resist biting into them right away. The treats, except for the fresh caramel, use liqueur, brandy, rum, etc., making them not too sweet and suitable for adults. While Rokkatei is known for traditional Japanese sweets, their Western-style sweets are actually more delicious. Thank you for the feast.
