It's Kyoto. Located in Gojo, a little up from Matsubara Street, this shop is here. I missed having lunch on the day I visited... What should I eat? The first thing that came to mind was this place. Will I make it in time? Is it open? With a pounding heart, I hurried to the shop and saw a bright red flag saying "fresh bento," which made me ecstatic. I happily entered the shop. The time was a bit awkward, so there were no other guests inside. Boldly, I sat in the middle of the counter, like a VIP. I ordered the hamburger I had been craving for, along with a beer. I also ordered Salad B. There were two types of salads, A and B, and B was 100 yen more expensive. When I asked the pretty girl at the shop about the difference, she said B comes with simmered dish and ham. Simmered dish... that sounded so appealing. First, a canned beer and glass were served. The canned beer turned out to be a light and easy-to-drink beer, but I would have preferred a proper beer. Next, Salad B arrived. It had plenty of boiled eggs (simmered dish), mayonnaise with mild acidity, rabbit-shaped apple cuts, ham, cucumber, macaroni salad, and more. It was quite voluminous and generous for the price. I started eating the salad and drinking beer, then the long-awaited hamburger arrived. The hamburger was slightly smaller than I expected, but for 600 yen (tax included), it was more than enough. It came with macaroni salad and apple cuts. The omelette next to the hamburger was fluffy and soft, with a gentle taste. The hamburger was rich in butter, paired perfectly with what seemed to be homemade brown sauce, and was very delicious. The spaghetti with ketchup sautéed on the side was also very nostalgic and had a taste that people of my generation couldn't resist. I definitely want to visit again when I'm nearby. By the time I left, the place was suddenly filled with customers. It seems to be a popular spot with a strong local following.
