It's been a long time since I strolled through "Nishiki Market." Maybe a quarter of a century? I shouldn't recommend eating while walking in such a narrow space! Was this arcade really this narrow? In such a cramped shopping street, it's full of foreigners... And the pricing at each shop is ridiculous! Tourist prices!! Just like Osaka's "Kuromon Market"! Amidst all this, my friend stopped in front of a seafood shop and was immediately drawn in! (^_^;) The urge to buy just couldn't be stopped... in fact, the purchase had already been made... Just yesterday and the day before in Osaka, my friend stopped when he saw "chicken skin," and now he's doing it again with "chicken chashu" today!! (^_^;) It wasn't "chicken skin"... It costs 700 yen... and it's cut in half! Nice! And there it is - "chicken skin"!! It's shiny "chicken chashu" with plump "chicken skin" attached! But I don't dislike it, and since my friend shared it with me, I took a bite! It's good! Not surprisingly delicious but consistently tasty! It's like a flavorful "chicken teriyaki"... The price is still reasonable compared to the prices at other seafood shops. If they priced it at 350 yen per stick and used paper like hot dogs or American dogs instead of plastic plates, it would be more affordable, easier to eat, and easier to dispose of the trash... Thank you for the meal!

This is a shop located in Nishiki Market in Kyoto. The chicken in the morning is always fresh, so I often buy it. I often purchase a set of soup, chicken, and tsukune for delivery. At home, I just prepare vegetables, and the creamy soup is full of chicken collagen. There are also many ready-to-eat items available at the store.

When I went to Nishiki Market, I decided to eat the chicken chashu. I arrived around 12 o'clock and was able to buy it successfully. It was bigger than I expected and I was surprised. When I took a bite, I was impressed. It was tender and juicy. It goes really well with the mustard available at the store. I really liked it, so I will definitely go back to eat it again.

Mr. Torikiyoshi used to sell fried chicken at a butcher shop three years ago, but this time I found a Chicken Chashu Stick for 700 yen! "Daisy Pie" is a very large chicken karaage. It seems to be Taiwanese karaage. The taste is a mix of garlic, ginger, and spices from over there. It has a satisfying volume, just as it looks. It's nice to see such unique appearances in dishes.

In Nishiki Market, I had a delicious chicken char siu skewer at a butcher shop while walking around. It was amazing! Unfortunately, it was very crowded so I couldn't do any shopping, but I was satisfied with just this! Thank you for the meal, I want to eat it again sometime!

This shop specializes in fresh chicken. We purchased Taj Pie and Grilled Chicken Skin this time. The sweet sauce on the grilled chicken skin was incredibly delicious. The more you chew, the more flavorful it gets, making it a great side dish for rice or a perfect snack with beer. We also bought a Taj Pie, which is currently quite popular. It was large, hearty, with a well-seasoned crust, and very easy to eat. We enjoyed it as a side dish with rice. You can truly savor the delicious chicken. I visited Kinntori on a weekend afternoon in August 2030 after a long time passing by. The place was bustling with customers buying chicken meat as usual, but there seemed to be slightly fewer people due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amidst this, I noticed the Taiwanese-style fried chicken, Da Ji Pai, and it looked delicious, so I couldn't resist buying it. It was crispy and packed with flavor, very delicious. The subtle hint of flavor comes from the Chinese five-spice powder, which includes Sichuan peppercorns. It tastes great on its own or as a side dish with rice. The base chicken meat at this shop is delicious, so you can't go wrong. I will definitely visit again from time to time.

Leaving the fantastical cafe, I suddenly returned to reality! I realized I hadn't ordered dinner yet, so I headed to Toriki, a chicken specialty store in Nishiki Market. I got the Chicken Char Siu Stick (500 yen) and the Grilled Chicken (500 yen). The Char Siu Stick was lightly sweet and savory, and the Grilled Chicken was also delicious with a separate sauce on the side. The flavors were all excellent, as expected from a chicken specialty store. Next time, I might buy some chicken to take home for a hot pot or something.

The end of the trip is buying ingredients. After cutting through traffic and returning home, with laundry that has gotten cold, there is no time to cook. I decided to stop by this shop last because I had read reviews from savvy shoppers who know delicious things well. Perhaps due to the New Year, there wasn't a lot of chicken on skewers for sampling, but I bought chicken thighs, seasoned meatballs, and hot pot soup base. I made hot pot as soon as I got home. The soup is rich with chicken fat, thick and flavorful. It has almost no salt, but adding a little ponzu in a separate dish makes it delicious enough. The meatballs are garlicky and punchy. My daughters couldn't stop eating them. The chewy and flavorful chicken, the soup that vegetables soak up, you can enjoy the lingering memories of the trip. Kyoto is always a delicious city to visit.

"I felt like I wanted some meat after all." With that in mind, I purchased chicken rolls from this shop for New Year's. On this day of New Year's Eve, after buying dashimaki at Kyoto's Nishiki Market, I decided to stop by this chicken meat shop nearby to look for other side dishes for New Year's. Normally, this shop mainly sells chicken meat and fried foods like karaage, but on this day, they had chicken rolls (similar to hōtōmaki) displayed for New Year's. Personally, I like chicken meat, and watching the freshly made rolls being served one after another made me want to buy some, so I purchased 2-3 chicken rolls. When I tried them after New Year's, the sauce was less sweet than I expected, light, refreshing, and easy to eat even when cold. Compared to the dashimaki shop, there was not much of a line, so if you have the chance to visit Nishiki Market on New Year's Eve, please also check out this shop."

I ordered the fried chicken for 450 yen and the grilled chicken skewers for 250 yen. The fried chicken had a crispy outer layer and a fluffy inside. However, the grilled chicken skewers lacked flavor.

When traveling to Kyoto, on the last day, I always go to Nishiki Market and department stores to buy ingredients before heading home. Among them, I always think that I have to go to Toriyoshi for Tamba chicken and Asa-hiki chicken! Recently, the quality of Tamba chicken has been a bit questionable at times, but I still think it's the most delicious chicken I've ever had. The firmness and elasticity of the skin, the color of the fat between the skin and the meat, and the umami when simply grilled are all wonderful. Asa-hiki chicken allows you to enjoy various parts, but when I bought the seseri this time, Toriyoshi-san told me, "It's great in omurice!" However, when I touched it, it felt like a waste to use it that way, so I marinated it in sauce, rolled it tightly on a skewer, and grilled it. The moderate chewiness and the oozing umami were much tastier than any barbecue. Even in the hot summer, I will continue to visit Toriyoshi to get their chicken! When I visited in April 2011, the Tamba Jitadori chicken and the Aigamo loin were excellent. It was worth bringing them back from Kyoto.
