This time, I purchased Adzuki Bean Cake for giveaways. Adzuki Bean Cake is delicious to eat as is, but when quickly fried in a Teflon pan, the skin becomes crispy and the texture is amazing. Both ways of eating are delicious, it is a very tasty Japanese sweet.

When I went to Kyoto, I stopped by Takashimaya in Kawaramachi. I was looking for unique shops and came across Ajari mochi, so I ended up buying it (laughs). It's a classic. It's chewy and not too sweet. I thought, "Oh, the paper bag is warm! Is it freshly made?" I had to eat it right away. I opened the bag eagerly after moving. Oh, it's softer than usual, chewy and sticky. The sweetness is the same. Personally, I prefer it when it's cooled down. But it was lucky. Thanks for the meal.

Today I came to Takashimaya to buy souvenirs♪ There are so many delicious looking items that I can't decide which one to choose~ But I've already decided on Club Harie♡ as one of the souvenirs⤴ One more thing... something Kyoto-like... Ah❗️❗️ Ajari mochi~ I haven't given it as a gift yet so that's my choice~ I also bought two pieces for myself♪ It's really delicious⤴⤴ It's thin but chewy (≧▽≦) I had both pieces in no time(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Thank you for the meal(^人^)

This time I purchased Ajari mochi at Takashimaya in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. It's a good deal to get it in a paper bag that you can carry without crushing it. The expiration date is about 3-4 days, so it's perfect for giving to someone right away. I gave it to my team members at work who I inconvenienced during my day off. They will definitely be impressed if you give them this. You can buy it at the station, but they tend to sell out in the afternoon. If you know someone who definitely wants it, it's better to buy it at Isetan, Daimaru, or Takashimaya beforehand. Of course, I bought mine at Takashimaya so I didn't have to wait in line. #AjariMochi #KyotoSouvenir #KyotoClassic #KyotoSweets #SweetsLovers #SweetsTour #SweetsClub #SweetsGirls #JapaneseSweetsLovers #Instafood #FoodstagramJapan #JapaneseSweets #Sweetstagram

I stopped by to buy Adzuki bean rice cakes while visiting the basement floor of Kyoto Takashimaya. It is a traditional and simple Japanese confection with a chewy skin filled with plenty of red beans. It's difficult to go to the main store, so it's convenient to be able to purchase them at the department store basement.

On my way home, I stopped by Takashimaya at Hankyu Kawaramachi Station. They have a delightful basement floor filled with various Kyoto specialty sweets. I noticed that the "Ajari Mochi," which I couldn't buy at Hankyu Umeda or Osaka Takashimaya, was piled up here. Is it because it's Kyoto? Or maybe because of the influence of the coronavirus? Either way, I had to buy it! The staff told me I could buy just one, but I ended up buying two. It's funny how when there's a long line and you can't buy something, you suddenly want to buy a lot, but if you can buy it easily, you think maybe just a little is enough (laughs). So, I bought one for 110 yen (excluding tax). They are very particular about the ingredients, and when the Tamba Dainagon adzuki beans used in Ajari Mochi are in short supply, they suspend sales rather than using beans from elsewhere. The rice flour skin is surprisingly chewy. The filling seems to be subtly sweet. The elegant shape and skin make it understandable why it's so popular, truly a famous confectionery. Thank you for the meal!

I love Adzuki bean paste mochi. I couldn't find it at any souvenir shops in Kyoto Station, so I came to Takashimaya and found it here. Yay, they still have some in stock! I got a box and a bag. I'm a big fan of the texture of the mochi and the sweet bean paste. It was delicious as always.

When I go to Takashimaya, I have a pretty high chance of buying Adzuki bean paste mochi. I love the taste, but what I really enjoy is the chewy texture of the skin. I feel like it's a waste to eat it all at once, so I nibble on it little by little (laughs). I wish they would make the skin thicker even if they reduce the amount of red bean paste. There must be other skin enthusiasts like me (laughs).

I bought 20 pieces of Ajari mochi at Mitsukoshi's Mangetsu-san for Mother's Day this year. It's a popular request from my family every year. The expiration date is 4-5 days, and it takes 2 days for delivery to my parents' house, so I couldn't buy too many. When it arrives, I always receive happy messages, so I'm glad I sent it. Although the price is going up slightly this year, I'm sure I'll still be buying it next year. I also bought 5 pieces separately for home use (my daughter is also a fan of Ajari mochi), and we enjoyed them as a family. Thank you for the delicious treat.

The next day, I was supposed to buy 5 boxes of Ajari Mochi for my father on my way back to my hometown in Matsutakeyama, but I ended up not buying them and just eating them instead. I will have to go buy them soon. Ajari Mochi is a famous Kyoto sweet, shaped like the hat worn by high-ranking monks. It is moist and has a chewy skin with sweet red bean paste inside. It is reasonably priced at 100 yen per piece, making it a perfect souvenir. When I brought it home, my family and I devoured a whole box of 10 pieces together. Ajari Mochi is cheap and delicious. That's it for today's food adventures. Tomorrow, I have a tough mountain climb ahead of me. Thank you for the meal.

"If you go to Kyoto, make sure to bring back some Ajari mochi!" was the message from my parents. Even though I don't have any plans to go to Kyoto, I decided to go and buy some anyway. So, I went to Takashimaya in Kawaramachi, Kyoto to do the errand. The Ajari mochi, which costs 540 yen for a pack of 5, is a half-cooked confectionery wrapped in mochi with red bean paste inside. It's similar to Kiriha sweets from Hiroshima. I brought it back to my parents and received compliments from them. (laughs)

I always make sure to stop by Takashimaya in Kyoto to buy souvenirs. I'm happy that I can also buy them at Takashimaya in Nagoya now. This mochi has an irresistible chewy texture and is so delicious that you can't stop eating it. Once you try it, you'll be hooked!

I learned for the first time that this is a famous confectionery in Kyoto. If you can read these kanji, you must be a Kyoto local. It has a chewy skin and a light sweet red bean paste filling. It has a simple taste without using butter, making it easy to eat many pieces.

In any case, it's delicious. The combination of this low price and great taste is amazing. The chewy texture of the dough with a gentle sweetness of the red bean paste makes it a delightful treat similar to a dorayaki. Whenever I go to Kyoto, I always buy it to bring back home, and it's also a great gift that people appreciate.

Thanks to the end of the production restrictions caused by the poor harvest of Tanba Dainagon adzuki beans, "Ajari Mochi" is now starting to appear in department store basements in Kyoto. There were no lines at the Wagashi corner of Kyoto Takashimaya, so it seemed possible to buy "Ajari Mochi". I bought just three pieces and tasted them with my family after returning home to Osaka. The texture of the dough is subtly firm and elastic, unlike any other. The carefully crafted red bean paste is juicy. How can something so delicious be just 100 yen each (excluding tax)! The exquisite balance of dough and red bean paste, and the deliciousness of it being 100 yen each (excluding tax)! It's no wonder that this Kyoto souvenir has been rapidly gaining popularity in recent years.
