I'm not sure if the phone number was wrong, but for some reason, the listing was put on hold. This is a shop I stopped by when I was leaving Toyooka and heading towards Miyazu. It seems to be a small liquor store and supermarket run by a private owner. I initially went in for a break, but I noticed that they offer homemade bento boxes and side dishes. I casually browsed around and saw a sign for "Umaibo Maki" (80 yen) on the wall. It seemed to be a snack made using Umaibo sticks. It had a B-grade feel, almost crossing into E-grade territory (laughs). I skipped it that day, but on my last chance, I decided to order it. They had Umaibo sticks behind the counter, and you could usually choose from different flavors, but on the day I visited, they only had vegetable salad flavor (laughs). It took some time as they prepared it in the back. It arrived in a boat-shaped container, with Umaibo sticks wrapped in thin omelette, topped with sauce, mayonnaise, and seaweed. They even stuck two chopsticks in for easy eating. The taste was exactly as expected. The sauce flavor overshadowed the Umaibo stick flavor. It's a unique snack that seems a bit labor-intensive for a children's snack. However, the Umaibo stick itself was a bit hard, and the texture clashed with the egg. If they could balance these aspects better, it would leave a more positive impression.

I stopped by to buy a bento for lunch. I bought omurice and cold kitsune udon. I'm not sure if the omurice was homemade or frozen, but it was a nice omurice with plenty of ketchup rice inside. It was delicious. The cold kitsune udon had tasty broth and the smooth udon noodles were refreshing. Both dishes were delicious.
