Menu ordered: ICE COFFEE 550 yen, CHARCOAL LATTE 650 yen
A cafe operated by #FR2. In the back of the store, they also sell original goods such as apparel and miscellaneous items.
The Charcoal Latte has a beautiful gradient of black from charcoal and white from milk! The taste is not of charcoal, just like a regular cafe latte.
The interior is filled with rabbits. The rabbit version of the three wise monkeys statues is adorable! Thank you for the meal.

Around 4 o'clock on Sunday, I came to see the double cherry blossoms at Higashihorikawa, but it felt a little early. However, I was able to see a combination of late-stage Somei Yoshino and early double cherry blossoms, which was nice. On the way back, I stopped by a rabbit-themed cafe near Nijo Castle. The menu was in English, so I understood that they cater to foreign tourists. The iced latte was rich and quite delicious. The prices were reasonable, and you could choose oat milk, which was thoughtful. There was a beautiful courtyard at the back of the store, and in the building beyond that, there was a merchandise corner. I thought about buying a hand towel, but it was unexpectedly plain and priced over ¥2000, so I gave up.

This is a stylish cafe we visited after sightseeing at Nijo Castle. It was easy to see that it is run by an apparel company! The cafe is located in a renovated machiya townhouse in Kyoto, creating a blend of traditional and modern stylish atmosphere. It has only been open for a little over half a year, so it seems like it will continue to grow and develop.

I decided to visit Usagi Coffee as soon as I arrived in Kyoto at the beginning of the year. I was worried that the Bunny Castella might be sold out, but luckily they had some available and even offered to make it fresh for me. I ordered the Bunny Castella for 500 yen and a Cafe Latte for 600 yen. I enjoyed them on the bench outside the shop. The Bunny Castella was small, light, and delicious. The hot latte, despite being machine-made, was also very tasty.

Visited "U Coffee" in Kyoto for the second time. I ordered a Bunny Castella to go. It took about 10 minutes to be ready since I arrived right when they opened. The freshly made castella was delicious! They do not accept payment with PayPay.

In Kyoto, there is a cafe called "Usagi Coffee." I had freshly made castella, which was delicious and easy to eat. The coffee was also delicious. The atmosphere inside the cafe was nice, and the staff were friendly and fun to talk to. It's great that pets are allowed inside the cafe. Unfortunately, they do not accept payment with PayPay.

[Tokyo] Rabbit Coffee Charcoal Latte ¥650, Bunny Castella around ¥500. It is a cafe renovated from a townhouse that is about 100 years old. It has a long depth typical of Kyoto townhouses! As you go further back, there is a courtyard where you can enjoy a quaint Japanese garden. At the back of the courtyard, there is a retail space selling original goods such as apparel. The icon resembling a family crest is probably the rabbit's mouth. The staff wear a charming combination of a family crest-marked happi coat and a mask that is a mix of a rabbit and a fox. I have seen a "Pig Rabbit" in a drama starring Fujigaya-kun before, but here is a "Fox Rabbit" maybe? They sell "Bunny Castella" at the storefront, perfect for eating while exploring Kyoto. I also had it as a snack with my coffee inside the cafe. If you look closely, you'll see that it is shaped like a rabbit castella, small and sweet, so it's easy to keep eating. I always pass by this place on my way to the Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto's afternoon tea, and I was curious so I stopped by. I'm glad I did.

It was incredibly stylish. My husband ordered iced coffee, and I ordered matcha affogato with rabbit-shaped castella. When I visited in September 2022, dogs were allowed inside if in a bag or on a cart, but dog rules at new stores often change, so I recommend confirming in advance if you plan to visit with a dog.

This place, which had a pre-opening at GW and a grand opening about a month later, is located just across from Nijo Castle, with a calm and mature atmosphere. I ordered a drip coffee instead of espresso, and it had a slightly tangy taste. I thought it was a paper drip, but couldn't confirm. It tasted like a blend of Colombian and a couple of other types of coffee. I think most people would like it. They were baking castella cakes in the store, which were shaped like rabbits. They remained fluffy even after some time. There was a good selection of espresso drinks, and many people were ordering matcha lattes. As I mentioned in a previous review of another place, only a few people come to a coffee stand for drip coffee or espresso. The trend seems to be for stylish snacks with iced cafe lattes. In that sense, both the staff and customers seemed quite young. It seemed like a good place for a takeout while sightseeing.

While enjoying a matcha latte and gazing at the garden, I couldn't resist impulse-buying a cap that I liked at the shop in the back. No regrets! 😂❗️

Opened in front of Nijo Castle, Usagi Coffee offers a charcoal latte. The atmosphere of the shop is simple with a Japanese touch. The latte tasted even better in this chic space.
