I went into this familiar restaurant because the other ones were crowded. I ordered a 980 yen dish and received a milky chow mein soup. It tasted very ordinary. The 550 yen dish I usually get is tastier. The fried chicken salad was okay though.

Today's lunch was at "Chinese Cuisine Suisei" located on the south side of Keihan Sumizome Station, along the Nara Kaido. There is a parking lot a little further south. The restaurant has both counter and table seating. The menu includes classic set meals, with the plate udon being popular among regular customers. There are also ramen and gyoza sets, as well as bento boxes. When I heard that the daily special included a Chinese rice bowl with fried oysters, I immediately ordered it. I forgot the price. A reddish set meal was served. The soup was a flavorful Chinese soup. The fried oysters I was looking forward to were small but tasted like the sea. The Chinese rice bowl had plenty of vegetables and a rich flavor. It's a reasonably priced authentic Chinese meal.

The newly opened Misenkaku is located just north of the Honda Dental Clinic, across from the Bank of Kyoto, where it used to be. The previous location was always bustling with students from Kyoto University of Education, and it seems like it will be lively once again. Today, I visited right after the lunchtime opening to check it out. I toasted with a Kirin beer and enjoyed steamed chicken, dumplings, and fried chicken. Wishing them great success. It was so delicious that I finished eating before taking a picture~ Reasonably priced!

I was curious so I tried ordering takeout, but I was surprised by the small portion size compared to the price. The fried chicken had a strong garlic flavor and a thick coating, but the taste was just average. I thought one piece was small. The dumplings were also a bit on the small side and tasted average. The shrimp chili and shrimp mayo had only 9 small shrimp each. The coating was thick, and the shrimp were not peeled. The shrimp chili had a slightly spicy flavor, while the shrimp mayo had a slightly light seasoning and the sauce was too starchy. The spring rolls were the best of what I ordered. They were full of ingredients and delicious, and the portion size was reasonable. The crab fried rice had a typical taste and was decently good, with a larger portion compared to the other items. Personally, I felt that the price, portion size, and taste did not match up.
