On this day, the monthly Saturday lunch service tweet received a reaction byte. In addition to the regular menu, the lunch menu featured a monthly limited "Shiono Hiyashi" dish. I came here to taste it. It was 11:27 am when I arrived, just before the opening time, but there were already people waiting outside, and the lantern with the restaurant's name was lit up, indicating that the restaurant was open. I visited without a reservation this time. I ordered the "Shiono Hiyashi Black Bara Nori Rice Set", which included the limited edition "Miyama Jidori Grill" that caught my eye. The lunch set for the day looked like this. First, the Shiono Hiyashi. The first sip of the soup was an uncharted territory of seafood broth punch that was incredibly strong! My companion also ordered the same dish, but since they get a stomach ache from eating oysters, they ordered it without the oyster duxelles. Instead, the restaurant served it with eggplant tempura and the 90-day aged Tanba beef soboro from their regular lunch menu. This was much appreciated. The cold soup with a seafood punch eventually melted the oyster duxelles, spreading an indescribable umami flavor in the mouth. The chewy texture of the thin wheat noodles made by a local noodle maker, the moist chicken ham with a hint of searing, the crunchy menma bamboo shoots seasoned with soy sauce, the simmered pesticide-free vegetables from Kyoto Daibara, each flavor and texture balanced perfectly in the cool dish, standing out with their unique characteristics. The seaweed rice in the set, poured with the remaining Shiono Hiyashi soup after finishing the noodles, was also a new level of deliciousness with the combination of black bara seaweed's rich flavor. The limited edition Miyama Jidori Grill for the day. The lettuce side dish was also pesticide-free from Daibara. The bouncy texture of the Miyama Jidori chicken and the slowly emerging chicken umami, suddenly reminded me of that shop in Hirakata, Nara Prefecture. By the way, the "Shiono Hiyashi" is available until June 30th as a monthly limited edition. If you're interested, be sure to try it soon.

Tuesday 12:12 To Mr. Okumura at Abats, it's been about 3 years since I last visited. I thought if I tried hard, I could go for lunch from work, so I visited on a weekday in a time attack style (I had convinced myself it was impossible). In August, there was also a limited menu that caught my eye. The collaboration with Ken Ramen, Aged Nan no Shima Pork Cold Meat Zaru Soba for 1,500 yen. The dipping sauce had a punchy spiciness, and the noodles were chewy and smooth. The sauce in particular had a complex and enjoyable taste. It may be too spicy for some people, but it was a summer-like menu. I will visit again, thank you for the meal.

There was a noodle menu that caught my interest, so I decided to visit after a long time! The owner built a career in French and Japanese cuisine before becoming independent. The restaurant, named "Aba" (meaning internal organs), specializes in dishes made with Omi beef offal. The owner is a big ramen enthusiast, known to wait in long lines at ramen events, and now offers noodle dishes for lunch on weekdays. I ordered the limited-time collaboration dish with the famous Kyoto ramen shop "Ken Ramen" - "Southern Island Pork Cold Meat Zaru Soba". The noodles had a great texture, with a dipping sauce made from seafood soup and Okamura's homemade spicy oil. The dish was packed with plenty of meat and had a well-balanced flavor that kept me hooked until the end. The tomatoes were also delicious. Since I wanted to try the Omi beef offal, I also ordered the "Omi Beef Offal Mapo Tofu Donburi". The dish featured a generous amount of Omi beef offal and chewy tofu in a sweet and spicy bowl. The rice was delicious, and the spiciness was just right!

I found out that the lunch menu at this Japanese restaurant includes ramen, but I decided to order the Omi beef hormone and egg rice bowl for 900 yen instead. The dish came with tenderly simmered Omi beef hormone with a fluffy and creamy egg topping, a side dish, and soup. The soup was a bit bland, but the seasoning of the Omi beef hormone rice bowl was delicious. However, I felt that there were only about three pieces of hormone in the bowl, which was a bit disappointing.

Shionohiyashi + black rose seaweed rice set for 1400 yen. I finally went to the shop I had been curious about. It seems like they only open once a month on weekends. The dish included oyster duxelles, simmered in soy sauce, and bamboo shoots. Also, there was chicken ham. The taste was definitely worth the price. It's getting hotter, so the cold dish was much appreciated. I found it best to mix the duxelles with the rice as I ate. The combination with the rice was great, so the set was a good choice. The prices are a bit higher for dinner, so I only have a review for lunch. Maybe they want to keep the night atmosphere different? When you come here, be sure to pay attention to what you wear. The smell can be strong, so it's important to be considerate towards other customers and the shop. Different people have different sensitivities, so it's important to be mindful.

Visited in June 2023. Foodlog rating: 3.40 (39 reviews) Shiono hiyashi - 1,200 yen (tax included) *140g noodles This Japanese restaurant offers high-quality lunch noodles that I come back to regularly. This time, they had already started serving their summer menu, "Shiono Hiyashi," from June. The dish features a chilled seafood soup with a blend of roasted fushma noodles by Menya Teiaku, known for their good texture and firmness. The toppings include moist chicken ham with a soy sauce glaze, simmered bamboo shoots, and pesticide-free vegetables, finished with a Hiroshima oyster duxelles on top of the chicken ham. Initially, I tried it without the Hiroshima oyster duxelles and found the seafood flavor refreshing and delicious on its own. When I later mixed in the Hiroshima oyster duxelles, the rich umami flavor spread in my mouth, not just from the oyster but from the whole dish. This unique ramen is something you probably won't find elsewhere. Thank you for the meal.

Your things are my things ( ̄Д ̄)ノ My things are also my things ( ̄Д ̄)ノ Hello, I'm Gian!! Today, I visited a ramen shop called Abats Okumura in Kyoto. The shop is located on the third floor of a three-story building. The atmosphere is more like a place for delicious side dishes and sake rather than ramen. I ordered the soy sauce ramen with black barley seaweed rice set. The soup had a strong seafood flavor with hints of pork and was topped with chicken ham, green onions, Chinese cabbage, menma, and black pepper. The noodles were slightly curly and had a good chewy texture. The addition of black pepper added a nice touch to the dish. Overall, the ramen was delicious and I enjoyed it. I would recommend having extra black pepper on the side for those who want a stronger flavor. It was a unique experience to have authentic soy sauce ramen at a Japanese restaurant. I will definitely come back to try their mazesoba next time. Thank you for the meal!

Visited in January 2023 ◎ At the time of posting, the restaurant had a rating of 3.38 on Tabelog (based on 37 reviews). ■ [Limited Time Offer] Shoyu Ramen the RICH 1,000 yen * Black rose seaweed rice set 200 yen In the evening, it looks like a small izakaya-style restaurant, but during lunchtime, they serve ramen, rice bowls, curry, sashimi, and more. They have ramen that can rival specialty shops, and they also offer periodic [Limited Time Offer] menus, so I check back regularly. This time, the limited-time offer was 'Shoyu Ramen the RICH'. You can also add a black rose seaweed rice set! I was curious about the set, so I ordered it. The ingredients on the black tray with the ramen included chicken ham, menma, Chinese cabbage, green onions, and shredded chili peppers. When I tried the soup... the strong aroma of seafood exceeded my expectations, and the combination of pork and chicken umami with soy sauce gave the soup a rich thickness. They used Hiroshima oysters oil, anchovy oil, and back fat to enhance the aroma, resulting in a punchy finish! The medium-thick noodles made with Tsurumugi wheat germ are not available in a large portion, but with 160g, it's about the same volume as a regular shop's large size, so it's satisfying to eat. You can also enjoy a moderate firmness and a slightly chewy texture. The moist and juicy chicken ham is also delicious. The black rose seaweed rice didn't seem that tasty when eaten alone, but when I dipped it in the soup at the end, it was exquisite. Once again, this limited-time offer was a high-quality bowl, and I definitely want to come back to eat it again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant, which only serves ramen during lunchtime, on the 12th when they started their lunch service for the new year. I ordered the "Shoyu Ramen with Black Rose Seaweed Rice Set" (1,200 yen) at the counter seat where I was guided after taking off my shoes. The bowl was topped with bamboo shoots, chicken ham, green onions, Chinese cabbage, and shredded red chili peppers, with a side of black rose seaweed rice. When I tried the soup, I could taste the umami of seafood and a rich, creamy flavor spreading in my mouth. The pork and seafood-based soup, finished with triple oil of lard, oyster oil, and anchovy oil, was rich and had a thickness to it, with a good balance of soy sauce acidity. The noodles were made of wheat germ and had a chewy texture, with a rich wheat flavor that paired well with the soup. The chicken ham was thick, tender, and packed with protein-rich umami, delicious on its own or when soaked in the soup. The bamboo shoots were soft and tasty as well. The black rose seaweed rice was much tastier when eaten with the soup poured over it, like a ramen soup rice bowl, and was very delicious. The seafood-infused soy sauce soup, combined with the richness of pork, seafood, and Chinese cabbage, had a depth of flavor, with a nice touch of spiciness from the pepper, creating a wonderful balance. Overall, it was a delicious ramen with a fantastic total balance.

Visited in September 2022. At the time of posting, the restaurant had a rating of 3.39 on Tabelog based on 27 reviews. I went for the "Chilled Tan Tan Ramen with Chicken Chashu Don Set" priced at 1,350 yen. The noodles come in regular (130g) or large (200g for an additional 100 yen) sizes. The restaurant has a traditional Japanese atmosphere in the evenings, but their lunch menu offers unique noodle dishes like Keema Curry and Mapo Tofu, which are quite appealing. Today, I tried the "Chilled Tan Tan Ramen" with a side of Chicken Chashu Don. I was also interested in the "Beef Mixture Maze Soba," but since the chilled ramen was about to be discontinued, I decided to prioritize it. I was told that they would continue serving it until around mid-October, depending on the weather. I made it just in time for the last order, as the place was almost empty, and I was able to sit at a table. The broth had a rich fish flavor, with bamboo shoots separating the Tan Tan noodles from the rest. Even without mixing, the fish broth alone was surprisingly delicious. After a few sips, I mixed in the aged pork miso, sesame, and homemade chili oil to enjoy the Tan Tan noodles. The broth had a strong umami flavor with a hint of acidity, which paired well with the straight noodles from the restaurant. The Chicken Chashu Don set was also tasty, with tender and flavorful chicken chashu. The set came with a perforated spoon, allowing you to scoop up the minced meat at the bottom of the bowl until the last bite. It's surprising how few restaurants serving Tan Tan noodles include this spoon. I wish more places would provide it as it enhances the dining experience. If I have the chance to visit again, I would go for the large noodle portion and add a side of rice for a satisfying meal. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

Visited in July 2022. At the time of posting, the restaurant had a rating of 3.39 on Tabelog based on 26 reviews. The atmosphere is calm and the lunch menu offers a variety of options such as tsukemen, maze-soba, mapo tofu rice bowl, curry, horumon chige, sashimi, and others. I ordered the "Hiyashi Tsukemen" which came with a side of rice for an additional 100 yen. The noodles were served with a light broth that had a hint of egg tofu flavor. The soup, made with pesticide-free potatoes and onions, was thick and coated the medium-thick noodles well. It was lighter than expected, but adding the aged pork mince topping brought out more flavor. The low-temperature cooked chicken ham was juicy and tender. I finished off with a rice dive into the spiced curry soup. Overall, a unique and enjoyable lunch experience. The Hiyashi Tsukemen is only available until the end of August, so hurry if you want to try it. Thank you for the meal.

Everything was delicious. Despite the sudden request, Mr. Okumura, who I visited for the first time last week, was able to prepare a seat for us. The vegetables were delicious, the sashimi platter was delicious, and the grilled throat fish with salt was fatty and tasty! The dimly lit, quiet interior was good for having a calm conversation. I will definitely visit again.

I visited around 12:10 on a regular day. There were two customers before me. I had the obanzai lunch for 1000 yen, which allowed me to enjoy various vegetables cooked in different ways and seasonings. It seemed very good for the body. There was a poster mentioning the harm caused by substances that sustain the smell in fabric softeners and laundry detergents, which some people suffer from. I heard that there is consideration for not using such products in the floor where a child I know attends classes. I also decided to avoid buying detergents and fabric softeners with long-lasting scent features.

"I ordered the 'Gyuu-Jizukushi Maze Soba' for 900 yen. It had a deep and unique flavor that I had never experienced at a ramen shop before. The noodles were transparent and light. I finished it while it was still warm, completely absorbed in its delicious taste. The one-bite rice as a finish was perfect. It was a sinful flavor. I want to try other menu items as well... For my second visit, I ordered the limited to 5 groups per day 'Chige'. It was not bad, but the 'Gyuu-Jizukushi Maze Soba' was still the best. "

Among the noodle enthusiasts, this restaurant is known for its delicious mixed noodles. I had been wanting to try it out, but their limited hours from Tuesday to Friday for only 2 hours a day made it difficult to visit. Finally, I had some time on this day so I decided to go! The special dish of the day was "Keema mixed noodles," but it didn't really appeal to me, so I kept looking and found the "Beef-packed mixed noodles" with Wing noodles! I love Wing noodles, so I was pleasantly surprised to see them here. I placed my order without hesitation. The restaurant has a stylish and cozy atmosphere where you take off your shoes before entering. The chef is French-trained, which is reflected in the ambiance. The mixed noodles arrived with plenty of vegetables and rare beef that looked delicious. They use locally sourced vegetables, like sweet onions, which added a nice touch. The texture of the Wing noodles was fantastic, and the slightly sweet sauce gave it a sukiyaki-like flavor. I really enjoyed the noodles. My companion ordered the "Offal Donburi," which was a bit disappointing. They have a wide selection of sake in the evening, so I would love to come back. Since they only serve noodle dishes for lunch, I highly recommend trying it out!

We went to Abats Okumura for lunch on June 23rd. It's a bit hard to find as it's located in the back of a building, but the atmosphere is welcoming and easy to stop by. The lunch menu includes tsukemen, sashimi, and horumon. We weren't sure which was the main dish, so I ordered the sashimi set and my colleague ordered the tsukemen. We are definitely interested in trying the horumon donburi next time. The sashimi set was delicious, but felt a bit lacking in portion size. On the other hand, the tsukemen had a generous portion. Thank you.

I visited Abats on May 13th after getting information on social media that they have resumed lunch service. During the month of May, they are open for lunch from Monday to Friday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm (last order). The menu includes dishes such as: - Beef mixed soba for 900 yen - Enjogata-style ramen for 900 yen, set for 1,000 yen - Hormone and other rice bowl for 890 yen - Hormone mapo tofu rice bowl for 890 yen - Hormone stew for 850 yen - Spicy chicken curry for 850 yen - Ohara organic vegetable salad I visited with my daughter and ordered the beef mixed soba for 900 yen and the Enjogata-style ramen set for 1,000 yen. The restaurant has a counter with 6 seats and 4 table seats in a dugout style for 4 people each. The spacing between seats at the counter seemed generous to me. The beef mixed soba looked too beautiful to mix. It had roast beef and minced meat as promised, along with fresh leafy vegetables. The noodles were wing noodles, which had a good texture and mixed well with the slightly spicy sauce. Even my daughter, who doesn't like spicy food, was able to finish it. It also came with rice at the end, which kept us interested till the last bite. The Enjogata-style ramen had a flavorful bonito broth with plenty of seaweed. The noodles had a good chewy texture, and the dish overall seemed very well-crafted. It felt more like a dish from a restaurant than a typical ramen shop. The set meal came with a generous portion of rice, making us quite full. There was only one other male customer who arrived around noon. It might be difficult to visit on weekdays, but I would like to come back if I have the chance. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Yan Gojo-style ramen with aged pork soboro bowl, Gibier venison spring rolls, butterbur ice cream. Basically, this restaurant only serves lunch on weekdays, but they had a special holiday lunch opening so I had to go! When I arrived around 12:30, there was only one other customer. The special lunch menu was quite appealing. The ramen is made with a broth of pork soboro and dried sardines, giving it a refined taste. The beef tenderloin is elegant in appearance and taste, truly reminiscent of Kyoto cuisine. The noodles are thick straight noodles that hold the soup well and taste delicious. The toppings include honeycomb tripe, beef tenderloin, and a unique chashu with plum and shiso inside, providing a refreshing flavor. The ramen portion is slightly larger than usual, allowing for a more satisfying meal. The pork soboro is surprisingly delicious, especially when mixed with the beef broth. The venison spring rolls are flavorful without any gamey taste. The dessert, butterbur ice cream, is light and refreshing, with a cute ramen-shaped meringue on top. Overall, the meal was enjoyable and creatively presented. It's only available for a limited time, so make sure to try it out!

Seafood bowl + clear soup + vanilla ice cream made with Nagoya Cochin eggs is what I decided on before going, so I was set on the seafood bowl (not on the menu haha). I also felt like having some soup, so I added clear soup. The bowl had a luxurious lineup of shibi, Norwegian salmon, golden eye snapper (lightly seared), saury (lightly seared), and wild cold yellowtail, all of which were delicious with their rich flavors, but especially tasty were the golden eye snapper, saury, and cold yellowtail. The way the flavors spread in your mouth was fantastic! The searing added even more flavor and a nice smoky touch. The clear soup had chicken ham and a light broth with sesame oil for added richness and depth. And for dessert, their homemade vanilla ice cream was a perfect way to end the meal.
