Tempura soba. Used for lunch on Saturday with my mother and two daughters. The location is a bit hard to find. There are 2 parking spaces next to the store and 6 in the adjacent parking lot. The restaurant is spacious with counter, tatami, and table seating.
- Tempura Soba: 1600 yen
- Ebi Tempura Don Set: 1350 yen
- Kake Udon: 850 yen
Since my daughter doesn't eat soba, we asked to change it to udon. The dipping sauce has a strong bonito flavor and is delicious. The tempura includes 2 shrimp, shishito peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and perilla leaves. My daughter, who loves shrimp, kept stealing the tempura and shrimp from the Ebi Tempura Don. It's nice that they serve green onions and tempura flakes on the side for the udon. Both the soba and tempura were delicious.

Starting in September. I had to work on Saturday. I finished in the morning, so I'm going to have lunch and go home. I went to my usual Takumiya. I had the tempura bowl set. It's always delicious no matter when I go. This set costs 1350 yen and has a good cost performance. I'm also tempted to try the conger eel tempura set next time.

I arrived at the restaurant at 11:15 on a regular day and left at 11:34 with the restaurant being 20% full. I ordered the meat dipping noodles with extra noodles for 1300 yen plus 350 yen. It was delicious with a good texture and a long-lasting flavor. This is what meat dipping noodles should be like. I hope to enjoy another meal like this someday. Thank you for the meal.

I had lunch outside. I tried the recent craze of soba noodles. I went to my usual Takumiya restaurant. I ordered the tempura bowl set. As always, it was delicious. The tempura bowl was small but it had 2 shrimp which made it satisfying. The cost performance was good, and the portion was just right for me. It was delicious.

After working on a holiday for the first time in a while, I finished in the morning and was invited for lunch so I'm heading home. I had the recent favorite, soba noodles, at Takumiya. Today I had the tempura bowl set. I changed the soba noodles to 100% buckwheat noodles. The tempura bowl was small but perfect for someone like me who eats little. The tempura was also delicious. It was consistently delicious and I was very satisfied.

Today I had to work again. However, I finished relatively early and decided to have lunch in the local area. I was craving soba noodles recently. The other day, I was invited to a soba restaurant called "Kinkian." Today, I was invited to another soba restaurant, Takumiya. It is located within walking distance from the Jūjō subway station. The entrance is a bit narrow, but once inside, there are counter seats for solo diners and tatami mat seating for groups. I ordered the tempura set with cold soba noodles. The tempura included two plump shrimp. The soba noodles had a great texture and the portion was satisfying. Overall, it was quite delicious. It felt like a hidden gem of a restaurant. I will definitely visit again for lunch on a day when I have to work on my day off.

Today's lunch was at "Handmade Soba Takumiya Kyoto Kamitoba". It's a soba restaurant located northeast of the Kusebashi-dori Shimmachi intersection. It's on the 1st floor of a building, with the entrance set back a bit. There's a designated parking space next to the right. The wooden counter has individual partitions. There are table seats and tatami rooms in the back, making it feel more like an izakaya than a soba shop. The menu features recommendations like conger eel tempura, which gives a seasonal touch. Recently popular sudachi soba with a visual impact of sudachi covering the bowl. The spicy daikon radish, a traditional Kyoto vegetable, is also popular. They offer authentic juwari soba for a more traditional experience. The chicken tempura set is a good deal. As a bonus, the seasonal rice dish caught my eye. Looking at the overall menu, there are various a la carte items and abundant set options. After some consideration, I chose the "Tempura Soba Set" for 1600 yen. It comes with a seasonal rice dish. You can hear the tempura being fried in the kitchen in the back. The set looks luxurious, and the tempura tastes great with just a bit of salt. The shrimp is perfectly cooked. The small side dish is a nice touch. The seasonal shimeji mushroom rice is subtly flavored but you can taste the shimeji mushrooms well. The main soba noodles are thin, chewy, and fragrant. The zaru soba portion is generous. The dipping sauce is not too sweet, allowing you to fully enjoy the soba flavor. Soba-yu is served, a milky white type. Savoring the soba-yu and finishing the Tempura Zaru Set was a delightful experience.

In the hot summer of Kyoto, I wanted to have a refreshing meal, so I enjoyed the spicy daikon radish soba with a sharp spiciness at Takumiya in Kamitoba, south of Kyoto Station.

This is a wonderful restaurant that makes an effort to be community-oriented and offer great value for money. I was very satisfied with the daily lunch special I had. I was impressed by the fact that they provide a pot of buckwheat tea and serve buckwheat soup in a unique way at this price range. The homemade buckwheat pudding was also delicious and enjoyable. 😊

A slightly manic review. The management style has changed a bit, with the menu also undergoing some minor changes. Despite the popularity, it's still a great place to enjoy delicious soba noodles. Make sure to make a reservation early to avoid the crowds. The "Duck Soba" for 1400 yen is packed with duck meat, but the soba noodles are always delicious! However, be careful because the soba is cold and the broth is hot, so it can be tricky to eat without losing heat. If you eat slowly, the duck might get cold.

The season for viewing autumn leaves is coming to an end, so I thought I might have missed the best timing. However, the temple I visited was such a famous spot for autumn leaves that I couldn't resist stopping by. I ended up having a bowl of sweet red bean soup with mochi inside at the temple. For a late lunch, I searched for a nearby soba restaurant that I could drive to, and found a great one near N Temples along Kusebashi Street. It had a parking lot right next to it, which was very convenient. When I arrived, I was the first customer to be seated, probably because it was a bit late for lunch on a Saturday. The menu had a variety of options, and I decided on the Torinamban Soba for 950 yen, while my companion chose the Seasonal Rice Set with Zaru Soba for 900 yen. We were served delicious soba tea while we waited, and when our food arrived, it was accompanied by a pot of hot soba tea. The food was so tasty that I couldn't resist ordering the set, which included a seasonal rice dish and a side of simmered vegetables. Everything was delicious, and I even thought about coming back to this restaurant near my workplace. I enjoyed every last drop of the soba tea and left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is a past log. We visited the restaurant late at night, so we were the only customers. We ordered a set meal, but I forgot the name of the menu (^^;; The soba was delicious, and the tempura bowl was also delicious. Next time, I want to eat slowly, so I will visit during lunchtime.

Takumiya is a popular hand-made soba restaurant with a spacious interior where you can enjoy a casual meal. While soba is the recommended dish, they also offer set meals and a variety of options. On this day, I ordered the special duck curry soba and tempura rice bowl. The curry, made with duck broth, was rich and flavorful with a delicious sauce. The soba noodles were also excellent. The tempura rice bowl, including shrimp tempura, was also delicious and a safe choice.

I always visit this restaurant. Today, I came with my wife, daughter, and grandchild, so we entered first. We had freshly made soba. It was delicious as always. The freshly made soba has a strong aroma, especially. They have added new menu items and are working hard. Thank you for the always delicious soba.

Takumiya Soba in Kamishichiken is a popular soba restaurant where you can enjoy freshly ground and hand-cut soba noodles with hot broth. The noodles are thin and made on site. The broth is rich and slightly thick. The tempura is crispy and fluffy, made with egg in the batter. The shrimp is fresh and large. There is parking available in front of the shop and in the adjacent parking lot.

Soba noodles are thin and have a smooth texture. I often enjoy spicy daikon radish soba and sudachi citrus soba, which are both very delicious. They have both counter seating and raised tatami seating. The tempura is also delicious. If you arrive when they open for lunch, they often have freshly made soba noodles available.

I went there for the first time. It cost over 1000 yen, so I don't think it's great value for money, but the soba and rice bowl were delicious.

Tonight, I had a bowl of soba noodles. There were several rare brands of sake available. The side dishes were also delicious. The soba noodles had a good texture and were firm.

The portion was too large and didn't suit my taste. The broth was quite bland, so it would be better with 80% buckwheat noodles instead of 100%. It cost 1300 yen.

The herring soba was delicious. The herring was tender and the sweet and savory seasoning was tasty!
