After enjoying a delicious lunch, I felt like having coffee and dessert, so I visited Yoshida Tobacco Shop + MAMEBACO COFFEE, where the current owner has transformed the tobacco shop into a café. The atmosphere still retains some of the tobacco shop's charm. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. They offer a pre-payment system with PayPay available. I ordered the deep roasted Mandheling coffee (530 yen tax included) and the smooth sake lees cheesecake (520 yen tax included). The coffee was just to my liking, and the cheesecake was creamy and flavorful. The portion size may be a bit small, but the taste was great. I would like to visit again because of the good coffee, delicious dessert, and pleasant atmosphere.

The homemade smooth sake lees cheesecake I received has a perfect combination of cheese acidity and rich sake lees aroma, making it a cake that I would recommend to those who like both alcohol and sweet treats. The seating is limited, so it may be difficult to take a leisurely break during busy times, but the restaurant is located a little away from the bustling sake brewery and shopping district, so the interior is quiet and relaxing.

At 2 o'clock on Sunday. Unfortunately, the amazake pudding was sold out. I ordered a canelé instead, which was large and had a crispy exterior with a firm interior. I cut it with a knife and fork, and it was very delicious. It's a sister store of Mamebako in Karasuma Marutamachi. While Mamebako is small in size, this place is not as small, and I was able to sit inside and relax. The store was originally started by the great-grandfather and was converted from a tobacco shop to a coffee stand. There were traces of the past throughout the store, which was very nice.
I visited around noon on a weekday. I heard that a tobacco shop that has been around since the Taisho era has been turned into a café. The interior of the shop was beautiful, especially the large shelf displaying coffee beans and mugs caught my eye. It seemed like these items have been there since the tobacco shop days, giving the place a vintage charm that fits the atmosphere perfectly. I ordered coffee and cake for takeout. - Original Blend (Hot): Light and easy to drink, with a soft and smooth taste. I've tried various coffees, but this one really suits my taste. - Sake Kasu Cheesecake: This was delicious! The baked cheesecake had a nice balance of sweetness and the rich flavor of sake kasu. I would recommend it especially to adults. - Original Blend Beans 150g: The packaging looks like a cigarette pack, which is cool. I'm looking forward to brewing it at home. It seems like the shop has recently opened, but I really enjoyed the ambiance and the coffee, and I look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I felt like relaxing at a cafe and ended up at this shop. Originally a tobacco shop dating back to the Taisho era, the exterior still retains that old charm. However, it was renovated and reopened as a cafe on November 24th this year. I arrived after 3:30 pm and looked at the menu. I ordered the "Smooth Sake Kasu Cheesecake Drip Coffee Set" (980 yen). You could choose from four types of drip coffee, and since I like acidic coffee, I chose "Ethiopia." The interior had only three small tables for two, creating a cozy atmosphere with the sound of wind chimes. The cheesecake was indeed smooth with a rich texture, subtly sweet with a hint of acidity. It didn't have a strong alcohol or sake kasu taste, but rather a fruity aroma like a Junmai sake, enhancing the flavor. The coffee had a pleasant aroma, a well-balanced acidity and bitterness, and a light body that paired well with the cheesecake. It seems like not many people know about this place yet, but I believe it will become popular in the future.

This tobacco shop has been in business for over 100 years since the 6th year of the Taisho era. After the passing of the owner's mother, who expressed her wish to keep the tobacco shop alive, it was transformed into a new coffee shop which opened on November 24, 2022 (located in Marutamachi as a sister store to MAMEBACO). While the exterior still resembles a tobacco shop, the interior is clean and free of the smell of smoke. I was recommended to try the smooth sake lees cheesecake with drip coffee set (980 yen). The cheesecake was indeed smooth and had a fruity taste reminiscent of Japanese sake, which paired well with the fruity notes of the light roast coffee. They also sell coffee beans in boxes resembling tobacco boxes, aptly named "Bean Box," making it a great souvenir option. I would love to come back when it's not too crowded and enjoy a leisurely visit. Thank you for the meal.
