Visited in June 2021. The restaurant had a rating of 3.01 on Tabelog at the time of posting. I had the seafood bowl set for 1,000 yen (tax included), which came with two side dishes, salad, and miso soup. The restaurant I visited for lunch today was Sakura Sushi, located across from the Joyo City Hall parking lot, which opened last September. Lunch is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, even outside of their shortened operating hours. When I entered the restaurant, there was a counter on the right and tatami seating on the left, with a second floor as well. The clientele was quite diverse, with a slightly older age group as expected. I ordered the seafood bowl set as planned, and opted for the free extra portion, which turned out to be quite substantial. It felt a bit wasteful to leave food uneaten. Behind the counter, there was a fish tank with a menu of sushi items displayed above it, ranging from 180 to 890 yen per piece. The seafood bowl included conger eel, tuna, squid, shrimp, sea bream, scallop, salmon, minced tuna with green onion, flying fish roe, and egg, with shiso leaves under the minced tuna and green onion. Personally, I found the vinegar in the sushi rice a bit strong. I prefer my seafood bowls without vinegar in the rice. The tuna was delicious with just the right amount of fat, and the scallop, salmon, and conger eel were also tasty. Initially, I was worried about the amount of rice served, but in the end, I couldn't finish it all. Considering the balance with the toppings, I think the regular portion of rice would have been sufficient. The server even mentioned that some women finish their bowls easily, which made me drop my guard. With such a luxurious seafood bowl, including two side dishes, salad, and miso soup, all for 1,000 yen including tax, it was definitely worth the price.
