Visited after a month on 3/14. Whenever I go, the food is delicious and the portions are generous! It's been 7 years since I started coming here, and the food is always delicious and the portions are generous! The chef, who is a muscular man, creates the dishes, which is unexpected based on his appearance. Reservations are essential, especially on weekends when there are many regular customers. If the manager remembers your face and name, there will be a note with a comment from the restaurant on your reserved table, which is a thoughtful gesture. Even if some dishes have been removed from the menu, they will still make it for you if you ask (although I think they won't make it if no one else orders it?). This place is highly recommended if you want to eat and drink heartily! Returned after about a month on 4/11. Once again, the dishes were delicious and generous in portion. The "appetizer or starter" is made fresh without using leftovers. The restaurant has a Facebook page, and if you mention that you saw it, you might get a free drink. I often check the restaurant's Facebook page, and apparently, there are usually many fresh flowers arranged in the women's restroom. Sometimes, customers leave notes about how vibrant the flowers are. This is a restaurant that pays attention to detail in various aspects.

I made a reservation three days ago for Friday night, and it was very convenient. The seating with tables and chairs was comfortable. The yakitori was delicious overall. They have a variety of typical izakaya menu items, making it a good place to gather with friends without feeling pressured. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It was rare to see a smoking allowed policy, although there were hardly any smokers present. There was a regular customer who caught my attention a bit.

A reliable charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant where everything you eat is delicious. The yakitori is good, but the rare vegetable called ice plant and the small radish that came as an appetizer were fresh and delicious! The only downside was that the second floor was for smoking, so you end up inhaling secondhand smoke when you go to the restroom.

[Visit Frequency] First time
[Motivation for Visit] I was looking for a yakitori restaurant near the Shijo Kawaramachi Hotel where I could get in right away.
[Dishes]
- Enzyme Salad: Made up of unique vegetables, it was interesting and delicious. I really liked it. Even the half size was enough for two people.
- Dashimaki Tamago: The dashi was homemade and the taste was like nothing I've had before! The half size seemed just right.
- Spicy Tebasaki: It didn't seem that spicy, more like Nagoya-style tebasaki (chicken wings with sauce). It was delicious.
- Yakitori Omakase (Assorted 5 skewers): All of them were delicious.
- Draft Beer: Ice-cold and the best!
[Atmosphere] It has a casual feel, but the atmosphere on the 1st and 2nd floors is slightly different. The 2nd floor seems suitable for semi-formal occasions. It's cozy.
[Overall Impression] As a first or second stop for the day, it's good to keep this place in mind for a spontaneous visit. It was a holiday night and we had given up on finding a good place, but going here was a great choice.

[Chit-chat] To be honest, I had a resistance to ordering dashimaki tamago at an izakaya. I thought, "Can't you make this at home?" But then I realized that there are things you can only eat at certain places, and it's worth trying them. The dashimaki tamago here was worth it. It had the best "dashi" and I was completely "outdone."

@Kyoto: ★★★☆☆ Tabelog 3.35 [Yakitori restaurant where smoking is allowed] A rare yakitori restaurant where smoking is allowed inside. Great for smokers, but hell for non-smokers. The taste is okay I guess! Perfect for smokers! #KansaiGourmet #KyotoGourmet #KawaramachiStation #KawaramachiDinner #Yakitori #Unfiltered #japan #happy #food

I arrived before 6 pm without a reservation. There are 5 counter seats on the 1st floor and 5 tables, with an additional 2nd floor. I was able to get a seat without a reservation, but after that, it was fully booked with reservations. It might be safer to make a reservation. Until 6 pm, there is a set menu for 1000 yen which includes drinks, 2 small dishes, and 3 skewers of grilled chicken or chicken neck. The quality of the chicken neck was not good that day, so I chose the grilled chicken instead. The set menu included burdock with mayo, macaroni salad, and skewers of gizzard, meatball, and leek. The skewers had large pieces of meat, and you could taste that they were particular about the quality of the chicken. We also ordered a platter of tempura with spring vegetables, dashimaki (rolled omelet), and 3 additional skewers, along with about 7 drinks, totaling around 9000 yen. The beer was served in a frozen mug, which was a nice touch. They also had a wide selection of alcohol, from common to rare choices. Despite the large number of customers, it makes sense that reservations are necessary.

During my trip to Kyoto during the autumn leaves season, I found a yakitori restaurant. It was bustling with people, so I made a last-minute reservation for our final night in Kyoto. Luckily, they were able to squeeze us in between reservations, but I saw others being turned away because they didn't have a reservation. Reservations are a must during peak season. The chef uses high-quality ingredients, and the Kyoto local chicken yakitori and enzyme salad were all delicious. I would love to visit again.

First visit. I forgot to take a picture of the draft beer, but the glass is ice-cold. It's frozen solid. It's delicious, no doubt. I highly recommend the owner here over the grilled chicken. I think it's probably a specialty.

On January 10, 2021, I visited on a Sunday. The restaurant is spacious and relaxing. I ate crab miso, cucumber, changja, 11 pieces of yakitori, and 5 vegetable skewers. It was incredibly delicious and outstanding. I am extremely satisfied and full of happiness. The alcohol also warmed my body. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and geared towards women. The chef has a small face and looks like he could be in EXILE. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go again. I will eat with gratitude for all the ingredients in this world. I'm calling for delicious food♪ The more I eat, the more power overflows♪

I came to Kawaramachi and wanted to eat yakitori, so I ended up here. When I entered at 6:00, it was empty, but gradually started to fill up. The very generous master grills the yakitori for you. We ordered too much as usual, but at this price point, the quality is fantastic. The momo tartare was the only disappointment for me personally, but everything else was good. The shop was a bit flustered by the unexpectedly large crowd, but it was a fun time thanks to the master's character. This yakitori shop is very affordable and convenient. Thank you for the meal!

It was a casual and easy-to-use yakitori restaurant (*´∀`*). There is also a second floor, so it can accommodate a decent number of people. I wasn't very hungry, so I couldn't eat a lot of different things, but I would like to come back again. The Taiwanese female staff has a charming atmosphere that is hard to describe, haha. The owner is also lively and cheerful!

There are many restaurants on Karasuma Street, so I searched for "Karasuma yakitori" and decided to go because the reviews were good. It was delicious. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) in particular were extremely tasty, I even ordered seconds haha. The only downside was that we were seated in front of the second-floor restroom, so there was a lot of traffic. Since there is a restroom on the second floor, I think it would be more convenient to sit there. However, the second floor is spacious and there were other empty seats, so next time, I would prefer to avoid the seats in front of the restroom haha. It was delicious, so I will definitely go again.

I visited the restaurant after being invited by my boss. It seems like they have been going there since their student days. The yakitori was delicious! Especially the tsukune had a good volume and was satisfying to eat. It's a restaurant that is easy to visit regardless of age.

I ordered a lot on November 1st... There are recommended items for each day, and I always order them for sure (^O^) Highly recommended is the "fried ice cream" - super delicious♡♡ It's like hot and cold at the same time.

The staff at the restaurant are cheerful and make you feel good. The food is grilled well over charcoal and tastes very delicious, with side dishes that are also generous in portion. There is seating at the counter and on the second floor, but it tends to be quite full most of the time.

Second visit and leaving a review. Two girls visited on Friday around 7pm without a reservation. The first floor was already full of groups. However, since we were seated on the second floor during our first visit, we peeked at the second floor on our own and luckily found a table for two. The staff eventually noticed us and we were able to enter the restaurant. The drink menu is not extensive, but it was enough for me who wanted a simple glass of wine. We ended up ordering quite a lot of food, which turned out to be quite a large portion for two girls. Maybe we ordered too much...? However, the carpaccio had a good amount of fish and was loaded with vegetables! There were even vegetables that I don't usually buy or know the name of (like chicory?) which made it enjoyable. In addition to the salad, onion slices, and edamame, it was all about the vegetables. My friend and I, both vegetable lovers, happily finished everything. With this portion size, it seems like it would be even more cost-effective if there were 5 or 6 people. Ordering skewers might increase the cost a bit. We ended up spending quite a bit this time because we drank too much (;^_^A), but I still think the prices are reasonable enough to casually visit. If we want to have a lively gathering with friends again, we will definitely choose this place! It's conveniently located as well. However, on this particular day, it seemed like there were fewer staff members or more parties, resulting in longer waiting times. We'll see how it goes next time!

Located on the east side of the street, a short walk down from Shijo Tomioko, is a yakitori restaurant. I had originally planned to go to the opposite restaurant, Bejotakoncha, but suddenly changed my mind and ended up at this place instead. The interior mainly consists of table seating, with a few counter seats available. Since there were two of us, we opted for the counter seats. The menu is relatively simple with not too many options, which is unusual for a fairly large yakitori restaurant. I tried the seared seseri, which had a distinct smoky flavor. Squeezing lemon and adding salt enhanced the taste of the thick and delicious meat. However, the large portion served on one plate caused the last few pieces to cool down, diminishing their flavor. This is the kind of place where you want to enjoy freshly grilled yakitori piece by piece. We also ordered tsukune and chicken skin. The tsukune came with sauce, while the skin was served with salt, which seems to be the default. Both were well grilled, with the crispy texture of the skin being particularly impressive. The tsukune lacked a bit of bounce and felt somewhat like a mass-produced meatball. The avocado tempura had the texture of avocado but lacked its distinctive flavor. Although it was a unique tempura, the portion size was too much for one person, and I got tired of it while eating. The cream croquette with snow crab had a generous amount of tartar sauce on top. It was delicious, but I couldn't ultimately find the snow crab inside. Overall, I found that I prefer smaller yakitori restaurants that suit my taste better. Thank you for the meal.
