HiMaWaRi Soft Serve Ice Cream Milk ¥480 + Strawberry ¥70. You can choose between milk or yogurt soft serve, which is then mixed with your choice of frozen fruit. The original soft serve, made fresh with each order, has a unique sweetness that is delicious. It seems they are mainly open on weekends and holidays, so it is recommended to check their website for the operating calendar before visiting. http://www17.plala.or.jp/HiMaWaRi/ Located at 25-2 Nanikencho, Higashiyama Sanjo Nishi iru, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

After enjoying a delicious Tianjin rice dish, on the way back to the parking lot, I stumbled upon a gelato shop called HiMaWaRi. It's located just a 2-3 minute walk from Marushin Hotel. They display cut fruits and when you choose one along with milk or yogurt, they make soft serve gelato on the spot. It was my first time experiencing this type of shop and I found it interesting. This time, I chose baked apple with milk. After a short wait, they served me the freshly made gelato. It looked delicious, but it melts quickly so I had to eat it quickly. You can choose between milk and yogurt, so if you prefer a refreshing taste, yogurt might be better. The milk was not too sweet, paired well with the apple, and tasted great. This was a unique shop to visit. They seem to offer different fruits depending on the season, so it seems like you can try various flavors each time you visit.

To HiMaWaRi at 13:55 on Sunday, I had been wanting to visit this place for a while, but since they are only open from lunchtime, it was difficult to find the right timing. Finally, I was able to go. The base ice cream was priced at 480 yen. Toppings are an additional 70 yen each (or 140 yen for two types). I chose yogurt base with haskap and red apple, which cost 620 yen. When I asked the staff for a recommendation, the older gentleman suggested, "Yogurt with haskap, and also red apple (red delicious) would be good." I ordered his recommendation as it was. The machine they used to make it was something I had never seen before. They blended frozen fruits and yogurt ice cream in a blender, and it was ready in no time. The bright ruby-colored ice cream was so beautiful that it made my heart dance. In the winter, I don't usually crave cold treats, but as the spring weather approaches and I start wearing lighter clothes, suddenly I find myself wanting something like this. Since the base was yogurt, the taste was light and refreshing, and very delicious. It seemed like you could also eat in, but I chose to take it to go. It was fun to be able to choose the fruits I like and have them make it for me. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Head west on Higashioji Street for a bit. Instead of gelato, there is a soft-serve ice cream specialty shop. Inside the display case are not soft-serve ice cream but a variety of fruits. You can mix your favorite fruits with the soft-serve ice cream. They offer classic flavors like strawberry, rum raisin, mango, and mulberry. There are two base options for the soft-serve ice cream: milk and yogurt. I chose milk with strawberry and mulberry. The finished product is as shown in the photo, with a purple color from the mulberry. The combination of creamy milk soft-serve ice cream with the refreshing taste of fruits creates a unique flavor experience. I want to try different combinations of my own.

"I've never seen a shop like this before." This time, I found a soft serve ice cream shop in Higashiyama, Kyoto, where you can choose your favorite fruits and have them made on the spot. First, you choose either milk or yogurt as the base for the soft serve, then you select one or two frozen fruits of your choice, which are mixed together on the spot with a mixer (or rather, a drill?). This time, I chose yogurt as the base and haskap berries as the fruit. When I tried it, the yogurt-flavored cream and the slightly grainy haskap berries complemented each other well with a refreshing taste. In terms of texture, the soft serve felt like a combination of regular soft serve and sorbet. While there are many shops that serve delicious soft serve ice cream, it is rare to find a shop where you can choose frozen fruits and have them mixed with the base soft serve on the spot. If you ever visit Higashiyama, I highly recommend stopping by this shop. It is especially recommended during hot weather."

Soft serve ice cream with yogurt, raisins, and milk made from haskap berries. You can choose your favorite flavor and base, making it a fun experience! The haskap berries are said to be directly sourced from a farm in Hokkaido.

The yogurt-based mixed berry berry had a nice balance of tartness, acidity, and rich yogurt flavor. It was delicious, but a bit pricey. The staff were friendly and lovely.

Finally, I was able to fulfill my long-awaited wish of having frozen yogurt! I had been craving delicious frozen yogurt, so I searched and finally made it there. I chose a mix of mixed berry and peach flavors, but personally, I prefer plain. I plan to order plain next time ☺️

Located between Higashiyama and Sanjo, this small soft serve ice cream shop allows you to create your own original soft serve by mixing in your favorite toppings. You can choose between milk or yogurt soft serve for 430 yen, and each additional topping costs 50 yen. The toppings include seasonal fruits like sweet sake and sakura mochi. They mix the toppings into the soft serve, so the flavor is evenly distributed throughout. I chose strawberry and milk, creating a classic strawberry milk flavor with a frozen strawberry texture. If you add a lot of toppings, the price can add up, so it would be nice if it was a bit more affordable.

This is a highly recommended restaurant by followers with high sensitivity. Other followers who are conscious about ingredients also visit this place. I visited this place along with a nearby pizzeria. I passed by the pizzeria first, but noticed a signboard saying "HIMAWARI→" in front of the restaurant. In Kyoto, there are many cafes and confectionery shops with good relationships, and it seems like this place has a good relationship with others as well. I was captivated by the showcase as soon as I entered. They had mulberries, cherry tomatoes, sakura mochi, haskap berries, and ama-zake. Which one should I choose? I decided to go with peaches. I chose milk over yogurt as the base, and then had the peach crushed and mixed in. Mixing it after ordering must enhance the flavor! I had a chat with the staff at the counter while enjoying my dessert. They talked about the soft serve ice cream made with ingredients specially sourced from a dairy farm in Hokkaido, and fruits sourced from farmers. As mentioned by other followers, it was amazing. It's rich but leaves a refreshing aftertaste. It's a collaboration of real fruits and milk, not just flavor. It's delicious! This is a dessert that you want to have in winter. With such love for ingredients, I am curious about the green curry served here. I definitely want to visit again.

I saw this shop on Facebook's RUTRON and I really wanted to go, so I went. This place offers gelato where you can choose a base of ice cream, milk, or yogurt, and then select your favorite fruits to mix in. I chose one with peach and milk, and another with kiwi and yogurt. The peach milk was delicious, and the kiwi yogurt was refreshing and tasty. The staff at the shop were friendly and I would definitely stop by again when I visit Kyoto.

I was looking at the review of Kuritaro★sama for this shop. The weather in Kyoto in the first half of GW was quite good, and I felt like having something cold after walking a lot. HiMaWaRi offers soft serve ice cream with two base flavors, milk and yogurt. In the showcase at the front of the shop, there are frozen fruits, sakuramochi, sweet sake, and other toppings that can be mixed with or added to the soft serve. This time, I chose milk soft serve as the base and mixed it with mixed berries. The base soft serve costs 430 yen, and each topping or mix-in frozen item costs an additional 50 yen, so the total payment this time was 480 yen. After ordering, the mixed berries were crushed by a machine and blended with the soft serve, then squeezed into a paper cup. Let's try it right away~♪ The milk soft serve that serves as the base is delicious with a rich flavor. It reminded me of the soft serve in Hayama that I love. With plenty of berries in it, the aroma and texture of the fruit make it even more delicious. I finished it in no time. It's so delicious that I could easily eat two of them. The lady who served us was also very friendly and made me feel warm. I would definitely like to visit this shop again. Thank you for the meal~♬

(Revisited in October 2016) On this day, I had soft serve with figs, rum raisins, and sakuramochi yogurt, topped with haskap berries, red meat melon, mixed berries, and mulberries. I was surprised by how vibrant the colors of the mixed berries were! I enjoyed it all! (First visit in August 2016) I strolled around the Higashiyama area during the day. As I walked from Sanjo Keihan to Maruyama Park, I spotted a sign for soft serve in the southwest part of Sanjo Higashiyama. I couldn't pass up the chance in this scorching heat! The shop offers a choice of two base soft serve flavors (milk or yogurt) and a variety of seasonal fruit toppings to mix in. I chose yogurt with lychee, peach, and kiwi toppings. The yogurt soft serve was delicious with a nice tang, complemented by the fresh acidity of the fruits. Each component had its own unique quality. With a total cost of 430 yen plus 50 yen per topping, I was completely satisfied!
