[2016.01] I don't know how many times I've been here... I always leave this place satisfied as long as I have horse sashimi and Utamaro hot pot. In the past, I always went with just 2 people so I couldn't try all the different dishes, but this time we had 4 people, so I finally got to try the horse meat yakiniku too! The meat was so good that you could even eat it rare like yukke. The garlic and onions were plentiful in the yakiniku, and the special sauce with ingredients like apple was delicious. It was so tasty that I wanted to have some rice with it. Overall, I was very satisfied once again!
[2014.12] The year of the horse is coming to an end today... And of course, I couldn't let the year pass without eating horse meat, so I went to my favorite horse meat specialty restaurant. When I used to work in Shinbashi, I would always come here whenever I felt like eating raw meat. The must-try dishes here are the horse sashimi and Utamaro hot pot. For the horse sashimi, I always order the highest grade 5-piece special plate with akami, loin, fillet, belly, and marbled meat. The liver is a limited item, so it's a lucky find if you get to try it. It's completely different from other livers, with no strong taste and a great texture. The Utamaro hot pot is basically like sukiyaki, using horse meat from Aomori and incorporating Aomori ingredients into the original recipe. You start by grilling garlic, then quickly dip the meat in the special grated apple sauce with vegetables and grated apple, and enjoy it with the tororo dipping sauce. This is definitely my favorite hot pot! There are other grilled meat dishes available too, but my companion and I couldn't make it that far today. There are many other menu items, but I feel completely satisfied with what I had this time, so I recommend starting with those dishes. Even the appetizer they serve is amusing with red pickled ginger. It's a great place for guys to have a good time, but it could also be exciting for a bored couple. Just be careful if you have kids around, as it might be awkward to explain certain things to them.

It's been a while since I visited Shinbashi. I decided to drink at a recommended restaurant with my companion, "Banamijika Shinbashi." Since my companion was running late, I started with beer and some appetizers. The beer was delicious, especially on a hot day! We also got a complimentary red shiso drink. We started with some chicken dishes for appetizers, followed by ordering horse sashimi. We opted for the regular cut as it had less fat. We also ordered some salted fish roe as a side dish. The horse sashimi was delicious no matter which part we tried! I had always associated horse meat with Kumamoto or Nagano, but this Aomori horse meat was surprisingly tasty, changing my perception. The salted fish roe was just right in terms of bitterness, sweetness, and spiciness - very delicious! When my companion arrived, we ordered grilled horse meat and horse liver to enjoy with our drinks. The grilled meat was refreshing, and the liver tasted healthy and good. Despite the time limit of 2 hours on weekends, we quickly ordered a horse meat hot pot. It was like a sukiyaki with horse meat, and dipping it in raw egg made it even more delicious. Although we couldn't take our time due to the time limit, we still appreciated the flavors. I look forward to returning and savoring Aomori sake more leisurely next time. Thank you for the meal!

A popular izakaya located in a quiet alley near Shinbashi Station SL Plaza, featuring horse meat directly delivered from Aomori Prefecture's "Odagiri Sangyo Ranch" as the centerpiece of their menu. My senior colleague made a reservation for us, and we visited a bit late on a Friday, but the restaurant was fully booked. The tatami room we were initially seated in was like hell, with almost no air conditioning working and it felt like a sauna. Unfortunately, the electric fan was out of charge, but we managed to get through by receiving frozen towels regularly. When a table nearby became available, we were moved there. It's amazing how just taking three steps could make such a difference - the table seating was much more comfortable with decent air conditioning. Finally, we were able to order the hot pot we came for. The restaurant's specialty "Utamaro Nabe" is an original horse meat sukiyaki with plenty of garlic, where you dip quickly seared rare horse meat in a dipping sauce mixed with grated yam and raw egg. The staff member Ran-chan grilled the horse belly meat for us, and it was incredibly delicious with the strong umami flavor of the horse meat. We quickly finished it, so we added more horse belly meat, which was also of great quality at a reasonable price. Then, Ran-chan appeared again and made porridge for us. The porridge, with the broth of various horse meat cuts and vegetables, was naturally delicious. Initially, I was seriously considering giving a rating of 2.0, but in the end, I was satisfied and left the restaurant. Just a note, this time we happened to be there near closing time with few other customers, so they took extra care of us and made porridge, but it seems like they don't always do that, so please be aware. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant has a lively izakaya atmosphere, but it also feels cozy and comfortable. The complimentary red shiso drink was a nice touch, and the dishes were delicious and well-crafted. The prices were reasonable, and I will definitely visit again.

I chose this restaurant because I like horse meat. They have a wide variety of horse sashimi, not just horse yakiniku, but even horse sukiyaki. The yakiniku was a bit tough, maybe due to the way it was cut, but overall the horse meat was tender and delicious.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while. You can enjoy horse meat shabu-shabu here. When we arrived on the day of our reservation, the seats were almost full, so we ended up sitting tightly at the counter. We enjoyed dishes cooked in the broth, followed by some small dishes, and finally, we dived into the shabu-shabu. We started by drinking the red horsefly drink served as an appetizer and got ready for the meal. By the way, they have three levels of quality, and personally, I recommend the top one. It was absolutely delicious, with no unpleasant smell. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

The horse meat here is great value for money. This was my second visit and the horse sashimi was thick and tender! I was happy to be able to try the sushi this time, which I couldn't eat last time (and of course, it was delicious). The hot pot is always amazing... I love eating it with garlic! The interior of the restaurant may not be fancy, but if I can eat this kind of food, I would definitely want to come back again!

Visited around 7 pm on the day before a celebration. Reservation is a must as the seats were fully booked. The prices felt slightly more reasonable than those listed on Tabelog. Drinks were mostly within 500 yen per glass. The horse sashimi was particularly delicious, fresh with a good texture and a choice of three dipping sauces. The sukiyaki fillet was tender and tasty, but the belly meat was tough and hard to chew. However, the seasoning was excellent. There was a strong smell of grilled horse meat and hot pot in the restaurant, so clothes may absorb the smell. It's a good place to enjoy delicious horse meat with friends rather than for a date. We, four women, had around 2-3 drinks each and paid 4,000 yen per person.

This is my favorite restaurant that I have been going to for many years! It's located about a 5-minute walk from Shimbashi Station, passing through the SL Square. It's a bit hidden in the back streets, so it might be hard to find at first, but a navigation app is recommended until you get used to it. It's a horse meat specialty restaurant, so it's healthy! The complimentary drink is Mamushi drink, which is quite unique and funny. The garlic-rich hot pot is really delicious, so I really want you to try it ☺️ For drinks, I recommend lemon highball or Hoppy!

I finally went to a horse meat restaurant that I had wanted to visit for a long time. After being turned away a few times without a reservation, I finally learned my lesson and made a reservation! The appetizer was red mamushi snake. It seems like a place that really wants you to be energetic haha. While most horse meat restaurants I've been to were from Kyushu, this one had a taste of Aomori! The horse sashimi that looked unappetizing was actually marinated horse sashimi. Everything exceeded my expectations. The way to eat horse sashimi was different, and the hot pot was not just any hot pot. Shabu-shabu the horse meat, dip it in the dashi with grated yam and egg, and it was simply the best! I've exceeded 200 characters so I'll stop here haha.

Very casual restaurant. All the staff are young. There were a few couples, but maybe the name makes it hard for single men to enter, so there were mostly groups of men. It's a shame that it's a 2-hour limit. I wanted to leisurely order various things, but 2 hours flew by, so I had to reluctantly leave after the last order. The variety of horse sashimi was enjoyable. It has a charm that you won't find in high-end restaurants.

A few minutes' walk from Shinbashi, down a narrow alley, you'll see a large sign for "Umanamike" right in front of you. The entrance is below the sign, but wait, it's actually over here! The restaurant has a casual izakaya atmosphere, and even though it's 8 pm on a Tuesday, it's packed with salarymen. We ordered a platter of horse sashimi, which was delicious when dipped in sesame sauce, sesame oil, or sweet soy sauce from Kyushu. I also tried the horse meatballs, which were surprisingly small but tasty when dipped in the mayo. We also had horse meat stir-fry and Umanamike sausages, both of which were delicious. The prices were reasonable, especially for the Hoppy drink. Overall, everything was satisfying and delicious. I'll definitely come back when I crave horse meat!

My friend suddenly wanted to eat horse sashimi at a restaurant called Uma-namike in Shinbashi Station. The restaurant was filled with many autographs of famous people! The assorted horse sashimi, which includes rare cuts and various parts, was amazing. The marbled horse sashimi was the best, tender and sweet. They also had hot pot dishes, so I'll definitely go back to try that next time!

I wanted to eat horse meat, so I was looking for a good restaurant nearby and I found one. Three of us visited the restaurant. We arrived around 6 pm and were lucky to get a table as it seemed mostly reserved. By 7 pm, the restaurant was full. The horse meat hot pot was delicious! The staff were efficient and polite, and I felt like I saw a young person who could use honorific language properly for the first time in a while. (laughs) The sashimi was also delicious, so next time I visit, I will make sure to make a reservation and try the horse meat sashimi. I will definitely go back!

I started with a 5-piece plate of horse sashimi, followed by yakiniku and sukiyaki. The meat was really delicious. I recommend trying the horse meat yukhoe. I want to go back again. However, there were many foreign staff members, which made ordering a bit difficult and slow.

A specialty horse meat restaurant. They have sashimi, grilled, sukiyaki, everything. Even though I must have passed by the shop many times, I didn't realize what a great place it is. The appetizer and red mamushi drink captured my heart, and the tomato sauce on the starter was unbelievably delicious. I started with the grilled horse meat, cooked rare. It was tender, no gamey taste, easy to chew. This made me want to keep drinking beer. For the finale, I had sukiyaki. It was so tender, almost like shabu-shabu. When I ate it just as the color changed slightly, it melted in my mouth. It literally melted as a "meat". Despite being quite thick, it was mysterious. Shinbashi has many restaurant options, but now that I've found this place, I feel relieved. Whenever you're in a bind (not just then), it's good to come here. You'll discover the depth of horse meat.

Visited a company gathering. Started with a Red Mamushi drink. Why Red Mamushi? The course served was a platter of horse sashimi. This is going to give me energy. The Red Mamushi effect might keep me up tonight. Eating, drinking, and making noise, the night in Shinbashi is getting late. Delicious! Horse meat! Thank you for the meal!

Location is Shinbashi. I made a reservation for 5:00 pm as I was meeting someone I hadn't seen in 10 years in Shinjuku a month ago. I arrived a bit early, so I got a massage at the New Shinbashi Building and arrived just in time. It seemed to be a very popular place with a 2-hour limit at the counter. I started with the first set and received a complimentary red snake wine. Even though I have no plans after this, my excitement level is through the roof. From horse sashimi to yakiniku and sukiyaki, everything was light and delicious. I finished with soba and apple sherbet, and it was exactly 2 hours when I left the restaurant at 7:00 pm. The sight of Shinbashi in front of 567, overflowing with people, made me feel like I had finally returned. I happily made my way back home, feeling grateful. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

Horse sashimi is served with various cuts such as lean meat and marinated, all of which are fresh and delicious when eaten with garlic soy sauce or Kyushu soy sauce. Horse meat sukiyaki and horumon yaki also have a satisfying texture and are tasty. Since they are all very fresh and can be eaten raw, they are best enjoyed with minimal cooking.

I had a drink in Shinbashi after a long time. It's a town for salarymen (^^) There's a famous horse meat restaurant there! Horse meat is delicious as sashimi, of course, but it's also tasty when grilled (^^) They have both grilled and sukiyaki here! Oh, it was so delicious (^^)

This is a typical restaurant in the drinking district of Shinbashi (although different from the photos on the website). The fresh horse meat is very tasty. However, the actual dishes were different from what was advertised on the website - there were no chicken dishes, only horse meat. Also, the number of dishes served was different. The staff seemed to be short-handed and it was hard to tell if the dishes were coming out properly. The service and atmosphere were not a priority, but if you really want to eat horse meat, it's worth a visit. I ate a lot of horse meat and my body still feels warm. Thank you for the meal.
