Vegetables are delicious ♡ Lightly seasoned and nostalgic meals. This is a repeat visit. Please check the schedule for the month on Instagram. Today, being just after New Year's, the red and white appearance of the dish, along with the celebratory red rice, is delightful. The colorful croquettes are visually appealing and bring a sense of happiness.
- Regular meal: 1,045 yen (choose from 3 main dishes)
- Yuzu cake made with rice flour: 550 yen for takeout (available at different shops depending on the day)
The side dishes for today are:
- Komatsuna and yuba with yuzu simmered dish
- Sweet potato and red bell pepper with minced chicken simmered dish
- Salad with tomato, lettuce, and carrot
I love the nostalgic atmosphere with a touch of something new, giving a comforting feeling of homemade meals. The croquettes have pumpkin and corn inside, with a gentle sweetness. The simple and lightly seasoned dishes allow the deliciousness of the ingredients to shine through, and when chewed properly, the flavors gradually spread, making it a wholesome and gentle meal for the body.

A cafe specializing in vegan cuisine with delicious vegetables. The cafe has a cozy, traditional atmosphere that immediately caught my attention when I walked in. They have limited opening days, so make sure to check their Instagram! The tofu gratin for lunch was delicious, with a tofu and sweet potato filling in a soy milk sauce, along with mushrooms. The sautéed Jerusalem artichokes were amazing! The miso soup in a cute little bowl was light and comforting. Personally, I love the mild flavors and vegetables, so this cafe has become one of my favorites!

Five friends from Kyoto made a reservation for an Italian dinner. Two of us arrived early and had tea at a quiet restaurant located on a street lined with traditional townhouses. The restaurant had a calm atmosphere with a small garden at the back. We sat at a table in the back and chatted about various topics, with the "Sweets Prince" always having a lively conversation. We chose our coffee from a selection of folk-style cups and also ordered a delicious-looking pudding. The pudding was old-fashioned and rich, and I particularly enjoyed the caramel flavor. We shared the pudding between the two of us, as we were already thinking about dinner. The coffee was a refreshing original blend, and the "Sweets Prince" enjoyed a blissful organic coffee blend. I also received a belated birthday present, which was a variety of gifts. Thank you as always.

I wanted to visit this place for a while, so we walked here after having dinner at Nijo. We sat at a table in the back and enjoyed the blissful FUDAN original blend coffee. We each had a pudding and shared them. You can choose your coffee cup here. While waiting, we chatted about various topics and caught up on recent news. The blend coffee had a rich flavor, which paired well with the firm pudding and whipped cream. We stayed until the last minute and then headed to the event venue!

This café, which opened in September 2019, is located near Nijo Castle, where many lovely cafes have recently been popping up one after another. The spacious interior is decorated with folk art and antique dishes placed here and there. The beautiful pottery, such as flower arrangements, toothpick holders, and water basins, reflects the wonderful sense of the owner. For a late lunch, I had the plate lunch (950 yen), which allowed me to choose between simmered hamburger or herb-grilled tonguefish. I chose the simmered hamburger, which came with fresh vegetables and two other side dishes on a single plate. I enjoyed it with multigrain rice and broccoli and cabbage miso soup. After the meal, I tried the non-caffeine chicory coffee (350 yen with lunch, 100 yen off), which is a beverage made from dried and roasted chicory roots. It is a popular alternative to coffee among those who enjoy natural foods and herbal teas. I also tried the chicory café au lait (550 yen) with soy milk, recommended by the kind owner. It was a delightful discovery, and I look forward to trying their original FUDAN blend coffee next time. Cafés truly have a remarkable presence. In times when my heart feels jagged, simply enjoying a cup of coffee in such a space and exchanging a small conversation with the owner can bring back a sense of peace. This café was no exception. I highly recommend it to everyone. I'll definitely be back for another visit soon.

Since the reopening of business on June 5th, the lunch menu has been changed to a vegetable vegetarian menu. Instead of photos of the lunch dishes, illustrations are now featured on the restaurant's website. I wonder what kind of dishes they are? This is my second visit. This month's special set meal includes a simmered hamburger and herb-grilled flounder, from which you can choose two. I wanted to try both, so I ordered them with a friend to share. The hamburger was packed full of meat and very juicy. The herb-grilled flounder was light and delicious. Both dishes were tasty. The set meal also included walnut potato salad, carrot and daikon radish with shimeji mushroom salad, sesame tofu, miso soup with Chinese cabbage and seaweed, mixed grain rice, and dessert with pear and kiwi. The sesame tofu looked like pudding at first glance, so I saved it for last, and when I took a bite, I was surprised to find sesame tofu! It had some kind of seeds on top, which made it look like pudding. But it was smooth and delicious. My friend had a rice flour gratin. Once again, I enjoyed a delicious lunch today. Thank you for the meal.

The spacious and clean interior of the restaurant was managed by a calm and gentle woman. I ordered a "Blend" coffee for 500 yen (excluding tax) and a "Pudding" for 500 yen (excluding tax). There was a 100 yen discount for ordering them as a set, so the total came to 990 yen including tax. I was able to choose my own coffee cup, which was a nice touch. The pudding had a rich caramel flavor and the coffee was a bit light but still enjoyable. Most of the other customers were having meals, and the delicious smell of food being cooked filled the air. I might come back to try their food next time.

I went to lunch at a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant were relaxing and lovely. I had the "Kounichizen" set meal, which included yuzu salmon shiitake burger, lotus root simmered dish, spinach and mushroom ohitashi, pumpkin and greens salad, vegetable salad, enoki mushroom and yam miso soup, multigrain rice, and dessert was persimmon. The freshly cooked dishes were delicious and made me feel great. The plates for each dish were stylish and elegant. I chose organic coffee for after the meal. Being able to choose my favorite coffee cup lifted my mood even more. I had a wonderful and delicious lunch time. Very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I chose this place for lunch in the Nijo area. I thought it was a cafe mainly for drinks, but the lunch menu was surprisingly extensive. Even though I visited during off-peak hours, it was still quite busy. I decided to try the gratin that caught my eye last time. It was baked in an Aladdin oven, with a tantalizing browned surface. They use soy milk and rice flour, so it was creamy yet refreshing. It was filled with tender onions, mushrooms, seafood, and very satisfying. The drink I chose this time was hot apple juice. It had a nice acidity and warmed me up. The charm of this place lies in its beautiful cutlery and dishes. They are not only aesthetically pleasing but also very practical, fitting seamlessly into everyday life. Despite being the only staff, they served with a smile and warmth, which was truly impressive. They update their lunch menu on their website, so it's easy to check before you go.

※As the business hours are irregular, it is recommended to check the business calendar on the website. I came across this place quite often on social media, so I decided to drop by for a coffee during my cafe time. I initially thought it was a small shop started by someone interested in antiques, but it turned out to have a very solid presence. The food menu was also very extensive, but this time I opted for a coffee. I was told that they use beans from the long-established roaster, Galo, for their own roasting. It was quite deep and robust, with a sweet chocolate-like aroma. You can choose your mug cup from the selection lined up on the counter, which was simple and warm, and very nice. I paired it with a classical pudding, with the option of adding whipped cream. The smooth texture and rich flavor paired well with Galo's coffee. The website is also well-maintained, and the cafe gives an impression beyond the level of individual management. The lunch menu also looks promising, so I think this is a good place to visit.
