Platto, today's lunch was a stroll around Yurakucho Station. Exit the JR Yurakucho Station Kyobashi Exit ticket gate and turn right to go outside. Once outside, make a left turn and walk straight, cross the pedestrian crossing, then immediately turn right towards the Ginza direction. Continue walking along the Yuraku Bridge on the Outer Moat Street (Nishi-Ginza Street), cross the signal, and continue straight on Ginza Yanagi Street. Turn left at the third intersection onto Ginza Brick Street, then walk towards Kyobashi for a while until you see the "Daisu-ken Izakaya Ginza Ichome Branch" on your right. The restaurant is scheduled to close on Saturday, September 16, 2023, as indicated by a notice at the entrance. Despite feeling it was a bit early for lunch, I decided to enter. Upon entering the restaurant, a female staff member welcomed me and allowed me to choose any available seat. I sat at a table to the left near the entrance and checked the menu. The menu included various set meals and dishes, with the sashimi set being a standout option. I ordered the sashimi set and it was served promptly. The set included a generous portion of sashimi, tsukemono (pickled vegetables), rice, and miso soup. The sashimi set consisted of bonito, yellowtail, tuna (red meat), and sea bream. As I enjoyed the meal, I reflected on the numerous closures of Daisu-ken Izakaya branches that I have witnessed. The original Daisu-ken Izakaya was established around 1942 and became a corporation in 1951. The chain expanded through direct and indirect branch establishments, with only a few remaining today. I finished the sashimi set, enjoying each bite while contemplating the history of Daisu-ken Izakaya. It was a satisfying lunch experience at the Daisu-ken Izakaya Ginza Ichome Branch, which is set to close on September 16, 2023. -Q-chan
