Located inside the Naya-machi Arcade, which continues from the west side of the Ote-suji Shopping Street towards the south. It is within walking distance of Keihan Fushimi Momoyama Station and Kintetsu Momoyama Oryo-mae Station, but the nearest stop is likely the Nishi-ote-suji bus stop. It is advertised as an Indian restaurant, so it seems to serve Indian-style curry. The Nepalese flag is displayed on the sign and inside the restaurant. While it is listed as a curry restaurant option, this was my first visit. At lunchtime, there is a lunch menu displayed facing the street, allowing you to take your time to decide. Upon entering, the counter was full, so I was seated at a table. There were many locals and regular customers present. As expected, most people opted for naan over rice. I chose the A lunch set with rice, mutton curry, and hot chai with the spice level set to very spicy. The lunch menu allows you to choose between naan or rice, curry, and a drink. As of March 2023 (tax included), the A lunch set costs 790 yen. First, a soup and salad were served. The salad consisted of cabbage, lettuce, etc., with a French dressing (red). The soup was creamy without any thickening agent, with the taste of onion cream soup. Next, the curry and rice arrived. It was in the form of curry rice, with a generous amount of curry sauce and rice. Surprisingly, the sauce was not too watery and had a slight thickness to it. You pour the sauce little by little over the rice and eat. The mutton curry had a mild flavor and the spiciness slowly built up. It was more spicy than medium but not extremely hot. It may not be suitable for those seeking a very spicy dish, but it allows you to easily enjoy Indian curry. The mutton was slightly tough, perhaps due to the age of the animal, and was cut into chunks similar to beef. There was no gamey taste, but it had a slightly different flavor compared to beef. The A lunch set allows for unlimited refills of naan or rice, so I requested a second serving of rice. The dish was served in a slightly smaller size. The generous amount of curry sauce was just enough for two servings of rice. Lastly, the hot chai was served. I had it without sugar. It had a mild flavor with a hint of cinnamon and subtle spices, resembling an Asian milk tea. I enjoyed the flavorful curry rice in a quiet atmosphere. Notable is the high cost performance compared to the curry chain originating from Nishibiwa Island. While it may not be in the same league, it offers great value for the price.
