If you add the fillet steak to the omakase course, it becomes a perfect meal. The first skewer of prawn was surprisingly delicious, and the following skewers were all excellent with creative twists! Around 5:30pm, I found a restaurant for my first meal of the evening. I had a craving for deep-fried skewers, so I had been looking at a few places in Ginza. Since I was staying near Pontocho, I decided to go on a search for skewers. I think this place was the first one I stumbled upon while walking from Sanjo Ohashi. I entered the skewer restaurant and was asked if I had a reservation, to which I replied no. They said it was fine until 7:00pm, so I happily went in. They also had a selection of wine. I ordered a set of 10 or 15 assorted skewers. My companion added a wagyu beef skewer, but they took out one of the asparagus skewers from the set. I wonder how much the total bill will be. We enjoyed shrimp, green peas, scallops, yuba (tofu skin), potatoes, quail, young ayu fish, and three types of vegetables. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Especially last weekend, it was as crowded as Teramachi Street during cherry blossom season. On this day, I visited with two cute girls for a strategy meeting. We enjoyed eating hot tempura skewers one after another. There were 23 types in the course, but we couldn't try them all. The optional fillet skewer had a pre-seasoned taste, making it soft and delicious. The restaurant had a bright and elegant atmosphere, so there were many tourists. The drink selection was nothing out of the ordinary, but it was a place where you could easily have a good time. Thank you for the meal.

Located a 6-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station in Kyoto, this restaurant specializing in deep-fried skewers is situated in Pontocho. I made a reservation about a week in advance and it was fully booked on the day, so it might be a good idea to reserve ahead of time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm and cozy, with just the right amount of brightness. I opted for the omakase course where skewers are served one by one. Without stopping, they can serve up to about 25 skewers, but I stopped at 20. Each skewer was delicious, and there were also creative skewers that added to the enjoyment of the meal.

I suddenly felt like eating kushikatsu and visited a certain restaurant. As I walked along the narrow streets of Pontocho, every shop looked delicious. From the outside, you could see a bit of the interior, but it had a somewhat intimidating atmosphere. Upon entering, there was an L-shaped counter seat in the front and two table seats in the back, giving off a calm and simple yet dark impression. The main option was the omakase course, with prices around 2600 yen for 10 skewers and 3900 yen for 15 skewers. You could also order items individually, but it would be relatively expensive. The alcohol selection included beer, cocktails, highballs, shochu, with prices ranging from 500 to 800 yen, and a variety of wines priced at around 1000 yen per glass. I ordered the omakase course. The sauces available were Japanese dashi, sauce, rock salt, and lemon, and the staff would instruct you on which to use for each skewer. Each skewer that came out was elegantly presented, almost too beautiful to eat. Although I lost my memory halfway through, the angel prawn tempura, Hanbei-fu with rice puffs, and ginkgo nut with yuba roll were particularly delicious. I later found out that this restaurant is part of the SAFARI GROUP, which also has branches in Okinawa and operates various concept restaurants. Thank you for the meal.

The store in Kyoto Pontocho had a high-class exterior and a stylish atmosphere. The interior had a calming vibe with orange lights. The customers seemed to be mostly couples, women, and people in their 30s to 50s. We might have been a bit early, but we decided to enjoy the night in Kyoto. We ordered the omakase with a stop system. We started with a toast with Kaoru Ale and three types of dipping sauces with lemon. By the time we remembered to take photos, it was already too late. However, the angel shrimp was amazing! The crispy batter and juicy meat were incredibly delicious. We had about 9 pieces and were completely satisfied. If we have the chance, we would love to visit again.

The drink menu mainly featured wine, but I felt that a greater variety would be more appealing. Although the skewers we ordered were tasty, there were only about 15 options available on the day of our visit, including 3 dessert skewers. I wished there were more choices and more surprises in the dishes. Perhaps the lack of excitement in the restaurant's atmosphere contributed to this. Overall, I felt that the restaurant could benefit from some additional creativity and variety, especially given its location in Kyoto's Pontocho area. In Kyoto's Kiyamachi, there is a cozy little skewer restaurant with a narrow, hidden feel. They have a variety of creative dishes, and I particularly enjoyed the skewer with potato salad wrapped in ham. The potato salad had corn in it, which was a nice touch. The restaurant is conveniently located near the station and has a great atmosphere, so I would love to visit again.
