Tonkatsu Don (?): 600 yen
Located near Kyoto Medical Center, this shop is affiliated with a meat shop that specializes in fried foods. Normally, I buy croquettes or chicken karaage here, but this time I decided to try their lunch menu. The Tonkatsu with demi-glace sauce was delicious. The coating was crispy and the meat was juicy. I usually don't have high expectations for bento box tonkatsu, but I always look forward to the ones from this shop. After the store is about to close, they sometimes offer "discounted items" at half price, so it can get quite competitive to grab them. If you're interested, be sure to check it out. Thank you for the meal!

A shop that specializes in high-quality meat and delicatessen items. The aroma of their bento boxes at the storefront always lures you in. It's a sweet trap that's hard to resist. It's best to go early to avoid missing out on their offerings. Although they said they could make it fresh if you wait 10 minutes, I didn't have time, so I chose their popular item - the Beef Cutlet Bento for 750 yen (excluding tax). The quality of the beef in the bento is top-notch, made with domestically produced A5-grade black wagyu beef. The meat is delicious, whether hot or reheated. However, the cabbage at the bottom may be a bit of a hindrance. I don't dislike cabbage, but I wish they would reduce the price by 10 yen if they left it out. More importantly, the hijiki seaweed is delicious! Even if you think you don't like hijiki, this dish might change your mind. It's perfect for helping children overcome their aversion to hijiki. In any case, dash to the shop before they sell out, ladies!

Extremely delicious croquettes! Recommended for those who like a sweeter, well-seasoned taste! You can purchase them inside the butcher shop!

Since the closure of the ink-dyed store, I visited the main store for the first time. However, the customer service attitude of the staff was not as friendly and welcoming as it used to be at the ink-dyed store. Even though the delicacies were delicious, my mood was somewhat dampened. Customer service attitude is important, isn't it?

Delica at Nagaya always takes care of my dining table with delicious fried dishes. Recently, I discovered that you can buy oil kasu (fried beef offal) at the main store, which is wonderful. It seems like it's not always available, though. In addition to their famous katsu udon and okonomiyaki ingredients, I also found that adding a little bit of it to vegetable stir-fry enhances the flavor with a nice beefy taste. I'm not sure about the correct way to store it, but since I don't use a large amount at once, I always freeze it and use it for a while. It has a relatively long shelf life to begin with. I always transfer it to a Ziploc bag as soon as I buy it, so I was able to take a photo and post this review in the process.

This is a fry specialty shop near the national hospital. Originally, the butcher shop's main store was located down the Honmachi street, and I used to buy ham and other items that I liked there. Igaya's ham is light and enjoyable with a nice meat texture, highly recommended. By the way, it seems like they also sell it here. I had never bought fried food until this shop opened, but I happened to buy croquettes on sale. I got the beef tendon croquette and a simple mashed potato croquette. Normally, the beef tendon is 100 yen, mashed potato is 60 yen, but on sale they were 50 yen and 30 yen respectively. Honestly, even at regular price, they are quite affordable. Often, croquettes in shopping streets are priced at 150 yen and called B-grade gourmet, but I feel like these croquettes here surpass that in quality. Especially the beef tendon croquette makes you feel like you've had some meat. Of course, the mashed potato croquette is also delicious, but comparing the two makes you feel a bit luxurious (either way, they are affordable). They also have bento boxes, and sometimes they fry them right in front of you, so it can get crowded during lunchtime. And in the evening, it can get really busy with people buying dinner side dishes. I would like to try something else next time.

I always use "Igaya Delica" near Sumizome Station in the neighborhood. It's a shop that sells deli items from a butcher shop. They offer a variety of items such as croquettes, tonkatsu, karaage, and kushikatsu. They also have a good selection of bento boxes and rice bowls. When you enter the shop, there are already prepared bento boxes and deli items on the table, but when you order, they will serve you freshly made items. My recommendation is the Kara-Mayo Donburi (380 yen + tax). It has plenty of cabbage and young chicken karaage on top of rice, with mayonnaise and pickled ginger. For an extra 50 yen, you can get a large portion that won't even close the lid. The karaage is crispy and well-seasoned, maybe with soy sauce. The Croquette Bento (500 yen + tax) is also delicious. It contains beef croquette, cream croquette, and karaage. Especially the cream croquette is delicious. They are also freshly fried and creamy. It takes a little time. You can pack the rice for the bento yourself from the rice cooker, so it's okay to get a large portion if you eat a lot. The side dishes like simmered vegetables and salad are also tasty. There are also time sales before closing. Please try it out.

Today I had an early shift, so I arrived at the station at 5:50 pm. As I was strolling through the shopping street, I came across a delicious-looking croquette shop called "Igaya Delica." And today was their promotional day! The original Mitsugi croquette was half price at 30 yen. They use starch-rich potatoes grown on the vast land of Shibetsu River, which is fed by the underground water of Mt. Yotei. Unfortunately, it was sold out, so I asked for a recommendation. I ended up ordering 6 pieces of beef tendon croquette, made with carefully stewed Japanese black beef tendons. It was originally 100 yen, but on sale for 50 yen. I decided to buy it and had it fried. Apart from croquettes, they also offer ham cutlet for 80 yen, sausage skewers for 100 yen, pork skewers for 100 yen, pork loin cutlet for 280 yen, bite-sized pork fillet cutlet for 70 yen, beef cutlet for 420 yen, and more. They also sell bento boxes for just 500 yen, with various options available. They even have products like boneless ham from Sen-eishi Ham. Now, I'm going to enjoy the freshly made croquette at home. It's so delicious with the tender beef tendon chunks inside. This would go perfectly with a beer, but I don't drink alcohol at home, so I'll have it with tea. Maybe I should have bought some beer. Anyway, the croquettes here are really tasty. If you're in the area, be sure to try them out!

I chose the croquette bento for 500 yen, which came with unlimited rice refills. My companion chose the fried chicken bento. The rice is served in a separate container, allowing for a generous amount. The bento includes croquettes, cream croquettes, another fried item, spaghetti, and vegetables. All of this for only 500 yen. The restaurant also sells fried items to take home and fry yourself. Today was a day for a medical check-up at Kyoto Medical Center. The cherry blossoms and blue sky were so beautiful that we decided to eat outside. The medical center has a spacious grounds with various plants, where we enjoyed our meal. The surroundings seemed to enhance the flavors of the bento even more.

You can choose fried dishes at this restaurant. It's a system where you can make your own selection. The portions are quite large, probably due to the fried food. I usually end up leaving some food because I get full quickly. The cutlets are a bit oily. Considering the price, the portions are generous and filling. It's a great place to visit during the upcoming outdoor season. The food is served with plenty of sauce for you to enjoy. I recommend going for lunch early as there are usually long lines. It's a delicious place to eat.

"I met croquettes after being asked by a friend living in Kyoto, 'Aren't Kanto croquettes sweet?' It is said that Kanto croquettes are not sweet, as mentioned by comedians from Kansai before. After a while, croquettes from Iigaya and beef tendon croquettes were sent by my friend. I fried them right away and they were on our dining table. They are indeed sweet. But it's not unpleasant. They were delicious and two of them disappeared in no time. On another day, I tried the beef tendon croquette, which had a different deliciousness due to the sweetness of the tendons. My high school son seemed to prefer the beef tendon one. I heard that you can buy a regular croquette for 30 yen at Iigaya's store, so I had my friend send me a large quantity. I shared them with close friends, but they disappeared in no time in every house. I also tried the Omi beef croquette, which had chunks of beef in it, giving it a different flavor from the tendons and was also delicious."

I visited this popular shop as well. It is located in a downtown area near a national hospital, in a town that has been around since the army days. Although it is a butcher shop, the croquettes are not displayed on shelves but are individually packaged and lined up. The curry croquette has a hint of parsley and a slight acidity. The cream croquette, while not visibly containing shrimp, is wonderfully seasoned. I could tell it was a popular shop.
