A friend invited me to go bamboo shoot digging. After working hard in the heat, we enjoyed some ice cream. The first flavor that came out was orange, with lots of swirls. With one bite, I could tell it was made by an expert. It reminded me of a milkshake, with a soft yet slightly crunchy texture. It had a refreshing aftertaste, which I love. I wanted to try the egg over rice dish, but unfortunately, the restaurant closed at 2 pm so I couldn't have it. I bought some eggs with folic acid and made egg over rice at home. The eggs were delicious, without any unpleasant smell. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture.

Whenever I go to Osaka, I always stop by this shop. On this day, I did some maintenance on the grass at home and then drove to Fukushima Ward to pick up takeout. I met up with my usual group of friends for a little gathering. Since it's about a two-hour drive from my home in Kyoto, I decided to take a break at a halfway point and ended up finding the first eggs of the season there. I had to buy them! I got some for my friend who loves cooking too, and there were also other gifts to bring back. However, I decided not to buy more in case they broke on the train. But then I saw some beautiful flowers next to the register - elegant purple flowers from Jamaica for only 150 yen! They were perfect for you, so I had to get them too. The first eggs are considered lucky charms and they taste so rich and delicious. Sometimes you might get one without a yolk, which adds some fun to it. They are small so you can eat 2 or 3 at a time. They even placed one on top of a half-sliced bread for me. I didn't buy more eggs because I was worried about them breaking, but I should have bought some for you since you were driving back. I'm sorry, but I'll make sure to get you some next year during the first egg season as a gift.

I received fresh eggs from Heidi in Kyoto, thanks to Sen♡ The eggs are from "Mizuho Farm"! Mizuho Farm Co., Ltd. is located in Kyoto Prefecture, in the town of Kyotamba in Funai District. It is situated in the central part of Kyoto Prefecture, historically known as a key transportation hub connecting Kyoto with Tango and San'in regions. They sell healthy eggs from healthy chickens born in this land blessed with abundant nature and delicious air(((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) Thank you, Sen♡ Sen taught me the ultimate way to make TKG! 1. First, separate the egg yolk and egg white. The shells are firm due to their freshness! 2. Whisk the egg white until foamy. Then, pour only the foamy egg white onto freshly cooked rice! 3. Mix the rice and egg white together, then top it off with the rich egg yolk. 4. Drizzle Yutaka Shoyu's barrel-aged soy sauce. This way, the fluffy egg white mixes well with the rice, and the flavor of the egg yolk on top is enhancedヽ(*^ω^*)ノWow!!! It's delicious~♡♡♡ I can't stop eating~♡♡♡ Thank you(● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾ It's so tasty that I couldn't bear to heat it up and ended up eating everything as TKG(● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾

On March 1, 2019, I wanted to eat "Botan Nabe" (wild boar hot pot), so I went to the supermarket "Daiyasu" in Toyono-cho, which I learned about from MyRebi in Kyoto, and drove for 50 minutes to the border between Osaka and Kyoto. First, I arrived at "Benten no Sato" in Kameoka City, just as I entered the pass, before 10 o'clock. It is a "tamagokake gohan specialty shop" run by Mizuho Farm in Kyotamba City. I enjoyed a set meal with unlimited large red eggs and had a great time with tamagokake gohan. The eggs were so delicious that I stopped by the adjacent direct sales store "Mizuho Farm Nishibetsuin Store" for the first time in 5 years to look for "red eggs" and ingredients for Botan Nabe. I got the following items, all excluding tax: - Mizuho eggs, red eggs 10 pieces for 430 yen - Kyoto Jinjosu, authentic nigari silk tofu for 160 yen - Konnyaku for 115 yen - Shimeji mushrooms for 220 yen - Leeks for 150 yen I used "Mizuho eggs" for the finishing touch of "Botan Nabe" by making egg porridge. I boiled the leftover miso soup, cracked the "red egg" into it for just 30 seconds until the white was slightly solidified, and poured it over rice in a bowl. I added more miso soup, crushed the yolk with a spoon while mixing, and it turned into an incredibly delicious porridge. I learned this method from the famous "wild boar hot pot" restaurant "Iwaya" in Tanba Sasayama. Making a "fried egg" allows you to see the beautiful crimson egg yolk and the fluffy egg white. Even though the flavor was rich, it was amazing as tamagokake gohan. The other 4 items were used for the "Botan Nabe" I made that evening. Now, let's turn the car around and head 3 km to the supermarket "Daiyasu" to get the desired "wild boar meat". Enjoy your meal! (●^o^●)

There are few reviews for this fun restaurant, is it just me? Whenever I drive back from Kyoto to Osaka, I always stop by here for about two hours. It's a perfect rest stop for me, with eggs being my main target. They have high-quality ingredients like Tanba black chicken, tofu with a focus on vegetables, and natto. Compared to other roadside stations, they have fewer items but of high quality. The sushi rolls are priced at 430 yen and the side dishes are cheap and delicious. If you go in the evening, you might get them at half price. Today, I got the sushi rolls at half price! The eggs, dried gourd, Koya tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and mitsuba are all homemade and delicious. For dinner, I also bought sushi rolls from my mother's favorite place. The tofu is a high-end gift from a friend's husband who works in Shanghai. I mixed it with pre-made cucumber tataki. The silk tofu for 160 yen is smooth and has a rich soybean aroma. The black bean natto is said to have an adult taste and is a bit expensive at 330 yen. I'll have it for breakfast tomorrow. The flowers here are only 250 yen! They may not be as fancy as those from a flower shop, but they have their own charm and are a great deal. Sometimes they have tea flowers too, and when I bought them as souvenirs for my friends, they were surprised at the quality, saying they would cost thousands of yen in Ginza. I don't usually buy flowers in Ginza, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Review time‼️(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) I always stop by this shop on my way to and from Osaka. I've been there so many times~ They have a place called Benten no Sato which serves egg over rice. I've actually reviewed Benten no Sato a long time ago (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) This shop sells four types of eggs, along with local vegetables, Tanba chicken mochi, homemade bread, cakes, bento boxes, red rice, rolled sushi, and even flowers at a reasonable price! The four types of eggs include folic acid eggs, eggs with triple the folic acid, Tanba black eggs fed with black beans, and Mizuho eggs which are red and pink. I always buy the folic acid eggs, which come in packs of around 13 to 18 eggs. They are very delicious and fresh! My friends in the neighborhood always ask me to buy some for them when I pass by the shop*\(^o^)/* Sometimes they also have seasonal items like Moroccon candied fruits, which I discovered one time. It was a great snack for drinking in the evening, even though it looked a bit intimidating. I also always buy konjac here. I particularly like the organic konjac made from taro. When making okonomiyaki with folic acid eggs, I don't mix it in, but cook it like a sunny-side-up egg and then place it on top of the okonomiyaki. It's delicious! I also make plenty of negiyaki with gifted white onions, topping them with lots of mayonnaise, soy sauce, nori, and bonito flakes to enjoy the flavor of the eggs. While the eggs here may be a bit more expensive than store-bought ones, they are still relatively cheap compared to other foods, right? Eggs are like the top students in terms of value! Maybe when you get older, it's better to spend a little more on delicious food rather than quantity~

We received delicious eggs as souvenirs from a farm called Mizuho Farm Nishibetsuin in Kameoka City, Kyoto, located on the border with Osaka, during a gathering with 4 friends in August 2023. The eggs are rich in folic acid, with more than 2.5 times the normal amount found in regular eggs. They have a slightly sweet and rich flavor, with a deep yellow yolk that stimulates the appetite. Folic acid is a very important vitamin that is involved in the production of amino acids and proteins in the body. These eggs are perfect for egg over rice, but I decided to make a "Tamagodon" (egg bowl) by heating a frying pan with oil, cracking 2 folic acid eggs, and seasoning them with soy sauce and mirin. I also cooked some sliced sausages and topped a bowl of rice with them, along with chopped green onions and plenty of shichimi spice. This dish was inspired by the "Egg Omelette Bowl" I had for breakfast at a nearby cafe called "Totono," but this time I served it as a hearty dinner with pumpkin simmered dish and miso soup with seaweed vinegar on the side. The large, deep yellow yolks of the eggs were incredibly delicious! I plan to use the remaining folic acid eggs to make a rolled omelette. Enjoy your meal! (●^o^●)

It's very delicious! I bought some eggs and folic acid eggs in a net pack, along with some small-grain natto from a nearby store. I also bought some simple and cheap flowers. When I got home, I arranged the flowers and they looked really nice. Next to the flower shop, there is a restaurant that serves egg rice bowls, which had recently reopened. I can't wait to go back and eat there again!

From Kyoto to Osaka via Kameoka Toyonaka, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom! It's dangerous to drive while looking around, but I decided to stop and buy some eggs along the way. In Osaka, I thought about having fried eggs for breakfast, but I'm not good at making fried or boiled eggs, so I probably won't. However, I bought a carton of eggs because the packaging was cherry blossom colored. My daughter came back from work and we drove back through Takao, where the vibrant pink azaleas were in full bloom. Some were a bit pale because they were mountain cherry blossoms. I got a bit tired from driving. I don't feel like making lunch... Let's go with an easy pasta dish. I used the Yubikanzume canned tuna in olive oil that I bought in Atami, poured it over the pasta, and added some dashi broth that I always have stocked in the fridge. I also made a simple egg drop soup with cherry tomatoes and sprinkled some green onions on top. It turned out to be a decent lunch. The eggs were delicious!

2022.09 Foodie friend's gift #4
A foodie friend from Kyoto stopped by "Mizuho Farm Nishibetsuin Store" on their way to Osaka, located in the mountains of Kameoka City and Toyonaka Town in Osaka, to deliver a souvenir. The store sells fresh eggs and agricultural products, and also has a dining area where you can enjoy egg over rice. They gave me some Kameoka-grown yellow chili peppers for 150 yen. Despite being slightly damaged, I cleaned them well, dried them in the sun on my balcony, and made "Koregusu" using them. Koregusu is a seasoning from Okinawa made by soaking yellow chili peppers in awamori for a couple of years. I paired it with Okinawan soba noodles, soba broth, and Rafute (Okinawan-style braised pork belly) from a store in the Tenjinbashi shopping street, topping it with red pickled ginger and chopped green onions. The combination of the spicy Koregusu and the smoothness of the soba made for a delicious meal. Bon appétit!

Today, I visited the Akamatsu no Oka Nishiume Treatment Center in Sonobe-cho, Nantan City. On my way back, I stopped by Mizuho Farm Nishibetsuin store and enjoyed my favorite soft serve ice cream. It was a sweet indulgence after work. Thank you very much.

This is a gift from a dining friend in Kyoto who visited the top Osaka popular sushi restaurant "Etchuya" at Tenkacha-ya in 2022. They brought me eggs and wild vegetables from Mizuho Farm Nishibetsuin Store in Kyoto's Kamigyo and Osaka's Toyonaka-cho on the border of the prefecture. I used 3 of the Mizuho eggs to make a homemade lunch of "oyakodon" the next day, and enjoyed a "pork egg rice ball" known as "Pota-tama" from Okinawa. The small and oddly shaped "wild vegetables" were quickly boiled in salt water and made into a "firefly squid and wild vegetable vinegar miso salad." I also made a "cabbage and kimchi pork pancake." It was a fulfilling experience in life. I also gave them a bottle of "wasabi soy sauce pickle" that I prepared three days ago as a souvenir. Thank you for the delicious meal.

After returning from work in Kobe, I stopped by because I wanted to eat delicious soft serve ice cream. The taste of the egg is also present and the soft serve ice cream is incredibly delicious. Once you try this soft serve ice cream, you won't be able to eat others. It's number one in my book.

The day before, I returned from Hokkaido, stayed in Osaka, and even though I just came back from a trip, I had to clean the house in Osaka - the fallen leaves from the cherry blossom tree next to the Japanese-style room were everywhere. Oh, so tiring. In the morning, I only had tea and set off. We went to Kameoka and stopped by a few shops on the way back. Even though it's a weekday, it's quite crowded. Is it because the state of emergency has been lifted? We enter the shops in small groups. Today, I don't need eggs, but I'll buy some chicken. This chicken is Tanba black chicken. It's delicious with a chewy texture, unlike broiler chicken. My husband used to buy it often. There was a time when he said he liked the slightly tough chicken. When we first visited this shop, they sold eggs, fresh vegetables, local tofu, etc. I remember thinking, "Why didn't he buy these as well?" When I get back, I plan to make sweet and spicy chicken sukiyaki with half of the chicken and tofu, and shirataki noodles. The other half will be fried chicken. I also received a lot of figs, so I'll make tempura with them. A leisurely dinner at home after a long time. It's calming to be back home.

Today, I took my mother and sister to Kyotamba Mizuho Farm Nishibetsuin. We enjoyed the delicious pudding soft serve ice cream. We also bought eggs and chicken meat. Tomorrow, my mother will make chicken rice with the chicken meat. It's nice to go shopping with family once in a while.

On my way home from work, I stopped by to buy folic acid eggs and chicken. When I asked if they had soft serve ice cream, they said they still had some! The soft serve ice cream had a rich egg flavor and was very delicious. On a hot day, cold soft serve ice cream is the best.

I was finally able to visit a shop that I had been curious about for a while. I really wanted to try the egg over rice, but I ran out of time and had to give up. I bought some delicious boiled eggs instead. Eating delicious eggs makes me feel happy. Thank you for the meal.

The familiar egg shop *\(^o^)/* has very delicious eggs, so I always buy two packs on my way back to Kyoto. I bought one pack as a souvenir for Kinako-san when I visited. They also sell vegetables, bento boxes, black sesame, tofu, and flowers. It has a small roadside station vibe. They sell rolled sushi, which I always get. It's delicious with Mitsuba in it. It's not fancy, but the flowers are cheap and cute, probably from the nearby farm. They have catkins growing wild by the river near my house. They are only 150 yen, so I bought them and felt happy. Of course, I also got some roasted seaweed for the rolled sushi. It has the taste of a countryside grandma. It was a holiday, so the parking lot in front of the shop was full, and even the large parking lot across the road was full too.

On February 20, I went to "Sushi Kodan" in Toyonaka with a friend to enjoy a meal together. I heard that my friend, who was driving from Kyoto's Kameoka City to Osaka, was willing to stop by the supermarket "Daiyasu" in Toyono-cho, so I asked them to buy "wild boar meat" for us to make a "botan nabe" at home. They also kindly brought fresh eggs as a gift, anticipating that we would make a "botan don" as the finishing touch. The eggs were from "Mizuho Farm Nishibetsuin Store," located on the border between Osaka and Kyoto, where I often visit to buy eggs and vegetables. I almost forgot the eggs on the subway, but thankfully managed to retrieve them in time to make the planned "botan nabe" for dinner. We finished the meal by adding the "Mizuho eggs" to the remaining miso soup, creating a delicious dish. The "botan don" is made by pouring the remaining soup from the botan nabe over rice with a raw egg on top, creating a savory porridge. The combination of wild boar meat and vegetables in the soup, along with the creamy egg, is simply delightful. The next morning, I made "sunny-side-up toast" for breakfast, aiming to improve upon my previous attempt where the yolk ended up on the edge of the bread. This time, I made a mayonnaise barrier on the edge of the bread, creating a shallow well in the center for the egg. After baking at 220 degrees until the egg white was set, the yolk was perfectly centered. I sprinkled black pepper on top for a delicious and energizing breakfast. Additionally, I tried making a "thick omelette sandwich" by mixing Mizuho eggs, milk, mirin, and potato starch, then serving it with pickles and coffee milk for a luxurious cafe-style morning at home. Enjoy your meal!
