On a regular weekday around 1:00 pm, I had the hearty (with chili pepper and pork fat) fried horse mackerel lunch for 880 yen. I was able to walk in without waiting. I ordered the limited weekday lunch fried horse mackerel, and although the croquette lunch looked delicious too, it had been a while since I had fried horse mackerel so I chose that. Later I found out they also had a lunch option with one fried horse mackerel and one croquette, which I should have gotten. Soon after, my meal arrived. The chicken bone soup with pork fat and chili pepper looked delicious. The staff's T-shirt had the words "Once you eat it three times, you'll get hooked" written on it. I feel like I've heard the same thing before when a senior colleague took me to Tenka Ippin in the past. The soup was easy to drink and had a rich flavor from the pork fat. The ingredients included two slices of chashu, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and green onions. The soup was delicious even without eating it three times! The fried horse mackerel was fried to a crispy perfection! It was piping hot and you could even eat the tail crisply! All of this for 880 yen including rice!! The cost performance is excellent. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

On June 12, 2019, a little after 12 PM, I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while but never had the chance to go to before. It's called "Tenten Aru Fushimi Ote-suji Ten". The restaurant had a stylish atmosphere with counter and table seating options, and I chose to sit at the counter. I ordered the Croquette Lunch for 850 yen (tax included), which came with a choice of either regular or rich soup. The soup was described as being made from chicken and vegetables simmered for a long time, but it was surprisingly light and refined in taste. The noodles were straight and of normal thickness, with a slightly powdery flavor at first but it became less noticeable as I ate. The chashu was thin and small, a bit on the firm side, but had a strong pork flavor. The dish also included bean sprouts and green onions. The rice was average, and the croquettes were freshly fried and delicious. Overall, the ramen was mild in flavor, with a subtle soup and toppings. It was a satisfying meal.

I wasn't satisfied with another restaurant, so I thought about ordering something extra there, but I decided to go to Tenten for a safe choice. I ordered the medium-thick Chinese noodles. Personally, I prefer it to be even thicker, and normally the medium portion at Tenten is not filling enough for me, but since this was just for a palate cleanser, it worked out well. The previous restaurant was a disappointment, but as I slurped up the straight noodles and sipped on the not overly thick soup at Tenten, I started to feel more at ease. I also think the staff and atmosphere of the restaurant are not bad.

I ordered the Chinese ramen "Kotteri" style with char siu, menma, bean sprouts, and green onions. The rich and thick soup is packed with the savory flavor of chicken and balanced perfectly with the sweetness of the back fat. It's so rich but still goes down smoothly with chopsticks! The char siu has a delicious sweetness and umami flavor that comes out more as you chew, making it really tasty. The noodles are on the softer side, so it might be a good idea to specify your preference when ordering.

I visited here for breakfast/lunch on a Saturday morning after oversleeping. I parked my car at a nearby coin parking and entered around 11:40 am. There were 2 customers already seated, but by the time I left, the place was almost full. I ordered the Special Set C, which included a large portion of ramen, a small special rice bowl, and 2 pieces of fried chicken. The ramen I chose was the classic chicken broth soup. The soup was thick and flavorful, easy to drink, and quite delicious. The noodles had a nice texture and paired well with the soup. The lean pork slices were simple but tasty. The special rice bowl had a good balance of sweet and savory flavors, and the toppings like seaweed, green onions, diced pork, bean sprouts, and kimchi made it a satisfying meal. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, although the seasoning on the batter was a bit strong for my taste. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and left feeling full and satisfied. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and I would love to come back to try the richly flavored ramen next time and maybe even visit the original store in Ichijoji. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the famous ramen shop TenTenYu in Kyoto to try their signature dish, Chuka Soba. I decided to go for the challenge and ordered the Tori Shio (chicken salt) soup, which is a departure from their usual rich and creamy broth. The soup was surprisingly clear and light, with a hint of chicken flavor and the gentle sweetness of vegetable broth. It was a refreshing change from the usual heavy ramen broths. The noodles were thin and smooth, complementing the soup perfectly. Toppings like kaiware radish sprouts and green onions added a touch of bitterness, while the chashu pork was flavorful and tender. Overall, this ramen felt healthy and light, making it a great option for those looking for a healthier meal. It was a unique and enjoyable dining experience that I would recommend to others.

"Chuka soba (regular size) 'Classic: familiar chicken broth soup' for 700 yen. Yesterday's 'Shinfuku' and today's 'Tenten Yu' are both well-established ramen shops in Kyoto. I love Kyoto ramen, but I don't come to either shop often, that's just how it is."

I tried the ramen at Tenten for the first time. I wanted to remember the basic flavor of the main store before visiting, but I haven't been able to go for years, so I just went for it... I ordered the "Chuka Soba" with toppings of roasted pork, bean sprouts, and green onions. The rich chicken broth soup with a thick texture goes well with the thin straight noodles. The roasted pork is lightly seasoned so as not to interfere with the soup's flavor, and it is so tender that you can barely feel the texture. It's a bit on the thin side though (sweat). When I ate this ramen, I thought, "Ah! It tastes similar to the rich ramen at Gyoza no Ohsho!" I wonder if it's just me who thinks that (laughs).

Today, I was wandering around Fushimi in Kyoto. Suddenly, I felt like eating ramen, so I used my phone to search for a ramen shop. Despite being a famous shop, I had never been to "Tentenyu" before. So, I decided to go there today. Tentenyu is a long-established shop located in the competitive ramen district of Ichijoji in Kyoto. The interior of the shop has a stylish atmosphere. When I asked the staff for a recommendation, they suggested the slightly rich flavor with red pepper and back fat. I ordered the large size of the Chinese noodles. It was my first time at Tentenyu, so I went with a basic menu item. The soup was sweet, which was a strange sensation. According to the menu, the soup is made by simmering chicken and vegetables for 18 hours. It was so delicious that I finished the entire soup. I enjoyed the taste of this popular ramen shop. It was really tasty.

This is a review of the Fushimi branch of Tentenyu. I visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. Tentenyu has several branches in addition to its main store, and I have visited several of their locations before. Although I thought I had been to this particular branch before, it turns out this was my first visit. The restaurant is located near Otemaedori, in front of the Aeon Fushimi store. It is on the 1st floor of a building with a red noren curtain at the entrance. There is no parking lot available as it is in the city center. The interior of the restaurant has a chic atmosphere similar to other Tentenyu branches. The main seating is at the counter, with some tables towards the back. The ambience is calm and you can enjoy your meal leisurely. The service was a bit inexperienced, as it seemed like the staff member was still in training, but they were polite and attentive. The ramen menu offers a choice of 4 types of soup: the classic Chicken White broth, the rich and spicy "Kotteri", the "Black" with rich soy sauce in chicken soup, and the "Chicken Salt". All of them are priced at 700 yen for a regular size, with options for extra noodles or chashu at additional cost. There are also some side dishes available, as well as set menus combining ramen with other items. On this day, I ordered the Kotteri Chashu Ramen for 850 yen. The ramen arrived in a bowl topped with plenty of chashu slices, in a cloudy chicken broth with floating fat and spice. It was garnished with green onions, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. The soup had a gelatinous texture typical of chicken broth, with a subtle sweetness and a lingering richness in the aftertaste. Despite the presence of spice, it wasn't overwhelmingly rich, making it suitable even for those who don't like heavy broths. The noodles were thin and straight, cooked al dente for a satisfying chewy texture. The chashu slices were plentiful but thinly cut, providing a good amount of meat without overwhelming the dish. Overall, it was a light yet flavorful ramen that was easy to enjoy, especially for those craving a thick chicken broth. I haven't tried the Black or Chicken Salt soup yet, but I would like to order them on my next visit.

Fushimi-Momoyama Station and Momoyama-Goryo-Mae Station are both nearby. The restaurant is located just off the Otedo Shopping Street. The staff are friendly and energetic, and the interior has a calm atmosphere with dim lighting. It's a welcoming place for solo diners. I had heard that their Kyoto-style ramen is a must-try, so I decided to give it a taste. I only planned on having a light meal since I was just wandering around the shopping street. The ramen was rich and flavorful, and I couldn't stop eating it. A female customer who came in later ordered a set meal with croquettes, and I wished I had done the same. The staff were considerate, seating the female customer at a spacious table and discreetly placing tissues for her. It was a heartwarming experience. I left the restaurant feeling content.

After visiting a ramen shop called "Chin Yuu," I decided to explore a nearby restaurant that I had never been to before. I came across "Ten Ten Yuu Fushimi Store," which I had known about for a while but never had the chance to visit. The restaurant was empty when I arrived around 11:30, and I quickly ordered the classic ramen. The bowl arrived with slices of pork, green onions, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. The noodles were thin and had a chewy texture, while the soup had a slight thickness to it. Overall, I found the ramen to be delicious, and I realized that I prefer eating it as a set meal rather than on its own. It had been a while since I last visited a Ten Ten Yuu branch, but this experience reminded me of how tasty their ramen can be.

I went to a famous ramen shop in Kyoto. I was thinking that the taste might be different at each location, so I was considering going to the main store in Ichijoji. However, I ended up stopping by the Fushimi store. The taste was not bad, and I was hungry so I finished it quickly, but it wasn't particularly delicious or distinctive. It was a rich ramen, but it lacked a punch and I didn't feel satisfied after eating it. It may be a matter of preference though... The interior of the shop was clean and pleasant, which is really important.

I knew there was a shop there, but I hadn't visited it before. It's a place with many independent stores, and the shop is inside a building, so it was a bit hard to find. I entered right after it opened, with no other customers, but by the time I finished eating, a regular customer had arrived. I ordered the richly flavored ramen. The soup was sweet, and there was chili powder available as mentioned on the menu. Contrary to what someone else wrote, the ramen was not lukewarm. The noodles were thin and not very tasty. It was a bit of a disappointment. The taste was completely different from the main shop. A man of appropriate age was cooking, but of course, I don't know his background. However, I feel that both the noodles and the soup lack a sense of taste. It's amazing how even small things can make a difference. It was the same at another branch of the shop. I said "thank you for the meal" as I got up to leave, but the staff didn't seem to notice, as they were engrossed in conversation. When they finally saw me walking away, they made an effort to say "thank you very much." They may be part-time workers, but the shop just doesn't quite come together.

Fushimi Momoyama Station, in front of the Saty on Ote-suji Street, there was a shop called "Tenten Yu"! This is a branch of a famous ramen shop with its main store in Ichijoji! This was my first visit to Tenten Yu, so I was looking forward to it. The interior of the shop has counter seats with long backrests as a feature (laughs), and there are also table seats in the back. The menu includes Chuka Soba (regular) for 680 yen, (large) for 730 yen, Chashu Men (regular) for 830 yen, (large) for 880 yen, and set menus ranging from 800 yen to 990 yen. There are various seasonings on the counter as well. I ordered the Yamadera set with Chuka Soba, Gyoza, and rice for 950 yen! First, let's try the ramen. The soup is a soy sauce-based chicken broth with a light yellow color. The delicate taste of the chicken broth melts out and you can feel the sweetness. The thick soup is delicious. The noodles are thin straight noodles, and the chashu is a large piece of thigh meat with just the right thickness. The toppings include green onions, menma, and bean sprouts! The set's gyoza is small but crispy, with a generous amount of filling and a nice texture. The ramen was delicious, but since I haven't eaten at the main store, I would like to visit there as well. Thank you for the meal. Address: 617-1 Godomae-cho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Yamakyu Building 1F Closed on Tuesdays Business hours: 11:30-21:30 (closes when the soup runs out) Difficulty level: ★☆☆☆☆ (easy)

I consider myself a fan of "Kotteri Ramen" from "Tenichi," but truth be told, my favorite ramen used to be the "Chuka Soba" from "Tenten U." On this particular day, I had some errands in Fushimi before heading back to Morioka, and decided to stop by "Teradaya," a place closely associated with the popular historical figure Sakamoto Ryoma and a famous car commercial. After taking care of my business there, I made a detour to this shop. It had been a long time since I last tasted the "Chuka Soba" from "Tenten U." I ordered the regular size with added "Ichimi" and "Back Fat," giving it a slightly spicy kick. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary soft-boiled egg on the side. The "White Cloudy Soup" made mainly from chicken was not as rich as the "Kotteri Ramen" from "Tenichi," but the flavor of the back fat melted into the soup was irresistible. The added "Ichimi Togarashi" helped to enhance the overall taste. The pork slices were lean and high-quality, with three large pieces on top of the bowl and plenty of my favorite "Kujyo Negi" in the middle. Although the reviews on Tabelog were not very high, the taste of "Tenten U" that I had not experienced in a long time was delicious.

Introducing "Tenten Arashiyama Fushimi Store". Located west of the Otesuji shopping street from Fushimi-Momoyama Station, turn left at the corner of Mizuho Bank, and you will find the store on the opposite side of Saty. This branch of the Ichijoji ramen shop offers two types of soup to choose from: "Maru" with chicken bone and vegetable base, and "Kaku" with pork umami and spiciness. The shop prides itself on not using any chemical seasonings in their soup. Personally, I prefer the "Maru" soup. It has a light texture and the noodles are not too heavy to eat.

It's always empty whenever I go. The beautiful restaurant plays jazz music, so it seems like a good place for a date (although I haven't used it for that purpose). The slightly sweet and rich soup is addictive. I appreciate the service that allows you to change some of the chashu to flavored egg. Compared to the main store in Ichijoji, it may be a bit light or lacking in punch. Personally, I like it that way, so I think it's okay for it to become more popular. However, the price of 680 yen for a regular size bowl is a bit high.
