■Opened in April 2023, this shop offers specialty coffee and alcohol. I visited this time because they have sweets made with cheese. The exterior is a traditional Kyoto townhouse, but inside, the space is modern and somewhat stark, creating a unique atmosphere. In addition to coffee, they also focus on matcha, so I ordered a matcha latte. ■Classic Basque Cake Set 1,300 yen (tax included) Cheesecake is 800 yen, which comes with a drink. ✔Classic Basque Cake A combination of mascarpone and cream cheese, with a slightly rare and creamy texture throughout the cake. The acidity of the mascarpone matches well with the bitterness on the surface. The crunchy and fragrant texture of the almond tuile topping contrasts with the creamy cheesecake, creating an interesting accent. ✔Matcha Latte with Strawberry They use the "Yabukita" variety from Kyoto's Wazuka region. I ordered this unique combination of matcha and strawberry syrup. Upon tasting, the richness of the matcha is immediately apparent, followed by the flavor of the milk. Mixing in the strawberry syrup at the bottom adds a pleasant sweetness that harmonizes well with the bitterness of the matcha, creating a new and unique flavor experience. ■Store Information ・Access: About a 4-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Line "Omiya Station", about a 4-minute walk from Randen Main Line "Shijo-Omiya Station" ・Business Hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:00-18:00, Fridays to Sundays 12:00-18:00, 20:00-23:00 ・Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays ・Seating: Table seating, terrace seating ・Parking: None (coin parking available nearby) ・Wi-Fi: Not available ・Power Outlets: Not available ・Credit Cards: Accepted

【ACTUAL KYOTO/Omiya】Tabelog 3.08 (2023.9.17) I saw this place featured on Instagram, so I decided to check it out. It's located about a 5-minute walk from Omiya Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line and the Keifuku Electric Railroad Arashiyama Line (Randen). It's in a location next to the Randen tracks that might make you think, "Is it really here?" The combination of the black wooden Kyoto townhouse and the sterile concrete is incredibly fashionable. The interior of the shop is not very spacious, so it fills up quickly. My wife, two daughters, and I enjoyed specialty coffee, matcha latte, and Basque cheesecake at the terrace seats. The Basque cheesecake had a rich cheese flavor that was very delicious. The coffee was also very fruity and satisfying. The cake set (1,300 yen) might have been busy due to the long weekend, but despite being somewhat remote, the place was bustling with customers. I think with this atmosphere, taste, and price, they must have a lot of repeat customers. It's amazing how a location that would normally be difficult for renovating an old house and disregards road laws can turn into such a great atmosphere with the right sense. Thank you for the meal!

At 2:30 on Saturday, I entered a narrow road next to the Arashiyama tram crossing, and suddenly an stylish cafe appeared. The road was so narrow that I wondered if it was really the right way to go, as if only elementary school students could pass through. Inside, it was full, so I waited in line behind a couple. There were also bench-style tables outside. I ordered a Basque cheesecake and a cafe latte at the counter. This combination was classic and really delicious. You could even choose the beans for your espresso, which was a bit unusual. It seemed fun to try different types. The handsome/beautiful baristas served with smiles, and I had a pleasant time. The counter seats were lined with copper(?) sheets, which felt cool and comfortable. Although you could sit facing each other on both sides, there was no gap so you had to go around in a circle, which might be a bit tough for couples.

In Kyoto, there is a quaint cafe where you can enjoy specialty coffee and cheesecake while watching trains pass by in front of you. I saw a fig and Japanese tea baked cheesecake on Instagram and I just had to try it. It was a limited edition cheesecake and it was absolutely delicious! The rich and creamy baked cheesecake with Japanese tea flavor was topped with fresh figs, fig jam, and cassis cream, creating a perfect combination. The beautifully layered cafe latte and matcha latte were also very tasty. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere of the cafe was lovely. I definitely want to go back when I visit Kyoto again!

A cafe located along the Arashiyama Electric Railway tracks in a traditional old house. They offer specialty coffee and specialty cheesecakes. Limited quantity Fig and Japanese tea peaked cheesecake for 1000 yen, Cafe Latte for 650 yen, and Matcha Latte for 750 yen. The Basque cheesecake and lattes were delicious. The interior of the store, renovated from a house over 100 years old, is very charming. It has a sophisticated and adult atmosphere. The staff were also friendly. A wonderful cafe that I would love to visit again.

Hankyu Omiya Station is about a 4-minute walk from the station, along the Keifuku Randen line, there is a cafe in an old folk house ♡ [Revisited] First, order and pay, then head to the terrace seat where you can watch the Randen trains passing by ☺︎ After a short wait, they will bring you to your seat. I ordered the ❤️ fig and Japanese black tea baked cheesecake ❤️ coffee cherry soda set ¥1500 (tax included). The combination of fresh figs and Japanese black tea was great! Fresh figs, cassis cream, fig jam on the back of the cheesecake - a delight for fig and tea lovers. The coffee cherry soda was also delicious. The cool, stylish space is lovely, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It was delicious ♡ Thank you for the meal ♡ I want to visit this place seasonally. No reservations or holds. Payment: cash / credit card / PayPay.

I ordered a Classic Basque Cheesecake and a matcha latte set. The matcha latte used a special type of matcha called "Okumidori" and was not too sweet, just the way I like it. The matcha flavor was distinct and the latte was easy to drink, not overly sweet. The Basque cheesecake was amazing - rich, with a nice cheesy flavor and a smooth, creamy texture that melts in your mouth. The set was a bit pricey at 1400 yen, but I was lucky to get a seat on the terrace and the atmosphere was very calming. The staff were also very polite and attentive!

I visited a cafe with my friends during a trip. It was recommended by my friend, and we had the best time there! It is a cafe in a traditional house next to the Arashiyama tram line. The cheesecake was incredibly rich and delicious, I was surprised! The matcha latte with strong matcha flavor paired perfectly with the cheesecake. Even though I don't like coffee, I tried a sip of the iced coffee and found it very easy to drink.

I had a seasonal cheesecake and a café latte. The café latte had three types of beans to choose from, and this time I chose the espresso blend. It had a smooth texture and the milk was sweet and delicious! The latte art was also cute. The cheesecake was a summer limited edition lemon-flavored baked cheesecake. The coconut ice cream that came with it was refreshing and amazing! It's recommended to park your bicycle at Omiya Station. This is a lovely shop in a traditional house where you can enjoy specialty coffee and cheesecake!

★The nearest station is Hankyu "Shijo-Omiya", right by the west exit. The main exit is at the east gate. Located on Minamikawa-dori, east of Shijo, along the Arashiyama electric railway line. The atmosphere is surprising due to its location. It seems to be a Kyoto townhouse rather than a traditional Japanese house. The space has a long and narrow floor area. I wonder if there was a second floor? Half of the space has a high ceiling with an open atrium, creating a chic look with black-painted wood elements and subtle decorations like moss balls, adding warmth to the otherwise cool space. ★The limited summer menu includes lemon cheesecake and cold brew coffee for 1,400 yen (tax included). Delicious! On a Saturday before 3 pm, we were able to sit in a private-like space rather than a long table, without having to wait, although the place seemed to be constantly busy with customers.

After lunch, I visited ACTUAL KYOTO, where I had seen people BMing on Instagram. The shop is located along the Keifuku Railway line and I was curious to see what it was like. The interior of the shop, which is a renovated old house, is stylish and super cool. When I visited, there were mostly women and I felt a little out of place. I ordered the cake set (1300 yen tax included), with a classic Basque cheesecake and a hot Ethiopian drink. The cake was a combination of mascarpone and cream cheese, with a slightly rare texture, and the acidity and bitterness matched perfectly, making it very delicious. The almond tuile topping was a nice accent. The Ethiopian coffee was dark roasted, with a strong flavor and good depth, which I enjoyed. The shop was quite crowded, so I sat on the terrace, where the passing Keifuku trains added a nice Japanese touch to the cozy atmosphere. The owner or host was very friendly, and I felt like I would like to come back again to this great shop.

The atmosphere is great. Stylish. The customer service is polite. They serve craft beer and craft gin from Friday night to Sunday night. The Basque cheesecake is delicious. It's a hidden gem, and even the sound of the train passing by in front of the shop sounds stylish.

I arrived 5 minutes before the cafe opened on Saturday and was the second group in line. After the opening, we entered in order and placed our orders and made payments at the counter. Then, we were able to choose any available seat. This time, I chose a table seat on the first floor, but I still recommend the terrace seat as the best option. The location is great as you can see the Randen passing right in front of you. There was also one seat available on the second floor, which I thought would be nice, but the staff mentioned that it can get humid and hot up there, so maybe next time. I ordered the cake set (1,300 yen) this time. I had an iced latte and a matcha cheesecake. The matcha cheesecake had a strong matcha and cheese flavor. You can fully enjoy the original taste of matcha with a hint of sweetness and bitterness. The texture was quite moist and rich in flavor. It was very delicious! The cafe has a stylish atmosphere, and the staff were polite. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. It's a wonderful cafe that I would love to visit again.

In a narrow alley facing the railway where the Randen line runs in front of you, there is a lovely café renovated from an old traditional house with a high ceiling. The interior is impressive and perfect for those who love traditional houses. Despite the Randen train running right in front of you, the sound doesn't disturb at all, and even adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. The specialty coffee brewed by the in-house roaster is excellent, and the balance of the rich mascarpone with the egg yolk in the specialty cheesecake is outstanding. The Basque cheesecake was incredibly delicious. The attentive service from the stylish and lovely couple makes it a soothing and stylish space where you would want to stay for hours.
