Yokozuna Ramen has been around since the end of the Showa era. It started with a store along the national highway, the Kuyama store on Route 1. Then came the Yoshikyo-in main store, and the Minami Inter store. With a love for ramen bubbling inside even in the middle of the night, and with the store open until 5 a.m., it was convenient to just drive a little to get there. Over time, more stores have popped up in the city center, such as Kawaramachi Sanjo, Hankyu Katsura Station, and Gaidaimae, making it easily accessible by foot. I never thought I would continue going for so long, but the taste suits me, the option to add as much green onion as I want, the ability to adjust the flavor to my liking with garlic and chili pepper, the quick service, and the clean and hygienic kitchen that is visible from anywhere... that's what keeps me coming back. Now, during the consecutive holidays in the middle of the night, I arrived at the main store. Since it was 2 a.m., it was not crowded. This time, I ordered the classic pork bone soy sauce ramen with plenty of vegetables on top, a side of kimchi, and a plate of teppanyaki fried rice. Basically, a carb-loaded order with ramen and rice, hiding my guilt of eating too many carbs by choosing the vegetable ramen. I added a mountain of green onions to the ramen as it arrived almost simultaneously. Then I scooped a spoonful of garlic and chili pepper into the bowl, mixed it with chopsticks, tasted a spoonful, and thought, "Ah, the usual taste." Next, a staff member placed a sauce-filled raw egg in front of me, asking, "Do you know how to eat this?" I mixed it with the fried rice, and as the egg danced on top, I mixed it in. With every bite, I felt the deliciousness. Adding kimchi to the mix, my appetite was in full swing. The pork bone soy sauce soup has a hint of sweetness, so I added the garlic and chili pepper to make it spicy, my way. The taste is consistent, so I slurped the thin noodles, alternating between the fried rice, kimchi, and noodles. Finishing with the vegetables, I left feeling fully satisfied. After the meal, I usually take home two packs of garlic and chili pepper and kimchi about once a month. The Yokozuna Ramen frozen food, which doesn't require water, is always in my fridge. Normally, I make Marutai ramen and add a mountain of green onions and garlic and chili pepper to achieve a decent flavor. So, the garlic and chili pepper have become essential condiments for home use, and I made sure to buy them again on this day. Thank you for the meal.
