Oosuga's sweets are very lovely. A beautiful assortment of sweets that make you feel the season. Sharing elegant Japanese sweets with four people makes for a truly enjoyable tea time. In particular, the Hatsugan, a combination of warabi mochi and haginohane dough filled with lily root paste, was exquisite. It was truly impressive. The Chojumochi is also delicious, auspicious, and highly recommended. Next door, &Anne is also a fantastic shop!

It looked delicious so I bought it. This grass mochi is made with regular mochi and sweet red bean paste, not with two layers of mochi. It becomes a little hard as time passes, but it was light and delicious. It might have been even better if I warmed it up a little or toasted it in a toaster. Thank you for the meal.

A Wagashi specialty store located on the basement floor of Kyoto Isetan. It seems to be a shop from Shiga. I decided to try their mooncakes. The "mooncake" costs 230 yen and contains peach, apricot, and even rum. It is certainly delicious, but it was quite different from my personal image of mooncakes, so I enjoyed it as a different type of food. Thank you for the meal.

I heard that a confectionery shop in Hikone has opened a store at JR Kyoto Isetan, so I visited to try Andoan's carrot cake. The carrot cake has a lemony cream cheese with plenty of raisins and walnuts. The spice aroma adds a nice touch, preventing it from being too plain. The Ankorune, with its crispy pie crust filled with sweet red bean paste and whipped cream, seems to emphasize its roots as a traditional Japanese confectionery shop. I don't often have the chance to visit the Hikone store, but seeing the delicious baked goods makes me want to visit at least once. Baked goods may not be flashy, but they are truly a deep and satisfying treat.

I often visit the Oosuga store in Kyoto, which specializes in traditional Japanese sweets but also offers some Western-style pastries. I particularly enjoy their elegant and not overly sweet treats. On my recent visit, I tried their moist and subtly sweet "senbei" rice cracker, which was delicious but could have been a bit sweeter for my taste. I also tried the "wagashi" sweet made with Japanese sugar and walnuts, which I absolutely loved for its balanced flavors. Overall, I highly recommend this shop for its high-quality and delightful sweets.

After a 3-year absence, I returned to Kansai for a visit and took the Shinkansen back from Kyoto. While on the train, I looked for something to enjoy around Kyoto Station and found a shop inside Isetan. I wanted to choose a shop from Kyoto, so I decided on this one. I purchased a Panna Cotta (334+tax) and a grilled shiratama (399+tax). Both were delicious. However, I personally prefer mochi over shiratama... even though it was tasty. The Panna Cotta was coffee-flavored, which was right up my husband's alley! This time, I chose items that were easy to eat on the Shinkansen, so I'd like to try a variety of things next time. It's a very stylish shop...

I went to Isetan Kyoto and bought some sweets. The anmitsu with shiromitsu (white syrup) was light and refreshing. The monaka with a large chestnut and plenty of sweet red bean paste was delicious. The 35 (monaka with kinako powder and nuts on top) was average. Among these, the monaka was the best. Thank you for the meal.

Our store is located in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture. It may be too far to go! Don't worry. There is a branch on the basement floor of Isetan. The most popular Japanese confectionery is the manju. For Western confectionery, there is a box of assorted cookies containing galettes, mille-feuille, and madeleines for 2070 yen. It seems to be very popular, and it may be out of stock for Christmas, so it is recommended to reserve by phone. I was attracted to the pudding, which looked delicious, and when I tried it, it was written that it was a steamed pudding made only with egg yolks. I also got a brownie and enjoyed both on my way home. The pudding was rich, smooth, and delicious. Next time, I think I'll try the manju. There is also a bottled red bean paste available.

I found some soft waffles at the &anne pastry shop in Ogosho at Kyoto Isetan, so I bought them. They were filled with caramel and honey, making them sticky and delicious. The waffles were not too firm or too soft, just the right moistness. I was happy that I could buy them individually. The packaging is also lovely and would make a tasteful gift.

I wanted to try it for a while, so I bought it. I wonder if it used to be a traditional Japanese confectionery shop? This time, I wanted to eat pudding, so I chose pudding and a brownie displayed next to it. The pudding had a shelf life of 3 days and the brownie was for the same day. So, I ate the brownie first. It was a moist chocolate brownie. It's tastier when eaten cold. It's a bit messy to eat, but it had a very rich flavor. Additionally, nuts were mixed in, adding an accent to the texture. The pudding had a simple flavor.

After the state of emergency was lifted, my family of four went on a trip to Kyoto. On our way back, we found some delicious mochi and sweet potatoes at Isetan. [Summary] "Chojumochi" for 151 yen: A thick mochi about 110x30mm in size and 10mm thick, similar to a thicker version of Anno Mochi. It is light and fluffy, with good stretchiness similar to Haneju Mochi. Inside, there is a mildly sweet red bean paste filling. You can truly savor the deliciousness of the mochi. It can last for about a week. "Sweet Potato-san" for 171 yen: A cylindrical-shaped sweet potato cake about 40mm in diameter and 15mm thick, similar to a sweet potato castella roll. It is moist and not dry, with a smooth texture and a hint of white bean paste and butter flavor, giving it a Western-style sweet potato pie-like quality. The sweetness of the sweet potato exponentially increases. It can last for about a week.

I heard that Isetan Kyoto opened last October, and it seems to be a store with its main branch in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture. I purchased two types of sweets named Sanjusanmanseki, which is a traditional Japanese confection, and Sara, a Japanese truffle. The Sanjusanmanseki includes a mochi and chestnut filling, and the taste is quite delicious with a refined appearance of a rice bag shape. The Sara features a modern twist on traditional Japanese sweets, with a yellow bean paste wrapped in white chocolate. Both options have a tasteful and sophisticated flavor, making them a great gift idea!
