I visited my daughter who lives alone to attend a university in Uji. She suggested going to the izakaya where she works for dinner. We ordered dishes recommended by her, such as rolled omelette, sashimi, grilled beef tongue, beef tataki, and deep-fried small shrimp, all of which were delicious. We also enjoyed the beer. The izakaya had a cozy atmosphere with regular customers mainly sitting at the counter. The owner and his wife seemed kind, making it a nice little izakaya.

This is a casual sushi and izakaya restaurant that you can easily visit. In this area, there are many chain restaurants like family restaurants, chain yakiniku restaurants, and chain izakaya, so individually run drinking establishments are rare. The sign is eye-catching, so I decided to give it a try and found a friendly owner and nice staff, so I have been going there quite often. The prices are reasonable, and you can enjoy sushi, sashimi, and even hot pot in winter, so there is a variety of options. There are also tatami seats, so many families visit as well. Next door, there is a yakiniku restaurant run by a family, and you can also order meat dishes from there. They have bottles of shochu, so it's a relaxing place if you like to drink slowly for a long time. They always provide a complimentary dish, which is a nice gesture. While there are no standout dishes that are exceptional, everything is quite delicious, with a consistently high average quality.

The distance from my home is quite far, so I haven't been able to go at all since a certain time, which is a bit lonely. The last visit was a while ago... I'm sorry. If you go by car to a restaurant where the friendly master is, you may be allowed to park in the nearby parking lot where there is an agreement with another shop (drinking and driving is not allowed). It's a small izakaya-like restaurant with a counter and tatami mat seating. The sashimi, grilled fish, and shellfish dishes were delicious. I especially liked the white fish tempura. The sake-steamed clams were also delicious. In other shops, the smell of the sea is too strong for me to eat, but here, the smell is not a concern and I enjoyed it very much. Lately, I can't resist having a beer at such places (lol), so if I go, I'll have to use a substitute driver or take a round-trip taxi, so I'm hesitating a bit... I'd love to visit again though.
