On Sunday at 13:37, my daughter and I stopped by Cake House Noel on our way back from Fushimi Inari. We bought an apple pie for 380 yen, a cassis mousse for 400 yen, and a cheesecake. The place had a cozy atmosphere similar to a cake shop in town. There was no parking lot, so we had to park our bikes in front of the shop, which was a bit tight due to the one-way street. Since it was past lunchtime, some items were sold out, indicating its popularity. We purchased three cakes and they were packed in a plastic bag. The owner suggested hanging the cakes on the bike, but our PCX bikes didn't have a suitable spot for that, so we had to carefully place them in the bike's compartment. Despite the challenge, we managed to bring them home without any damage. The cheesecake was the favorite among us, but all the cakes were delicious. We wondered if this place is a hidden gem. We enjoyed our cakes and will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful treats.

A certain shop introduced on a TV show caught my interest, so I decided to visit. Located near Fushimi Inari, the area was bustling with foreign tourists, giving off a unique atmosphere that felt like Japan yet not quite Japan. Upon entering the shop, the very friendly owner greeted me warmly. He casually recommended some cakes, which was a nice touch, and his attentive yet not overbearing service was pleasant. I purchased the following items:
1. Gateau au Chocolat: The top layer of chocolate was quite hard, making it a bit difficult to eat, but overall the chocolate was delicious and well-balanced.
2. Choux Cream: Honestly, it was a bit disappointing. It was tasty, but the choux pastry was too dry and crumbly, which was a letdown. The custard cream was quite light in flavor.
3. Pudding: A bit firm in texture, not extremely rich, but it was tasty.
4. Chocolate Truffle: This was delicious. For a truffle, it was quite cost-effective.
I wanted to try other items like cheesecake, but the slices were large so I passed this time. Overall, I think this shop offers cakes that are simply delicious. I would definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

This is a long-established cake shop in front of the Nijikuno Hospital☆ Highly recommended here are the chocolate cake and the soufflé-style cheesecake (^u^) Also, the soft-serve ice cream is a must-try! The shortcake might be a bit greasy... Furthermore, they are open until 10 pm, which is quite convenient! The price of one cake is around 300 yen. Considering the size, the cost performance is not bad (^v^) It is also close to the Toba Kaido Station, so you can use it for souvenirs on your way home from work☆

Cake House Noel is a small pastry shop along the Toba Kaido road, on the way from Toba Kaido Station to Fushimi Inari. It seems to be run by skilled artisans. The somewhat nervous owner came out and served us a regular type of cream puff. It was surprisingly delicious. The cream inside must be custard cream, and it was incredibly refreshing. With such quality, this shop could become even more famous in Kyoto.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Toba Kaido Station, this shop may not look like it's open at first glance due to its dim and unassuming appearance. The owner doesn't exude warmth or friendliness, but is polite and courteous.
- Souffle Cheesecake [280 yen]: Quite large, but light and fluffy due to its souffle texture. Not too sweet, easy to eat, and my favorite souffle cheesecake I've ever had. Great value for the price.
- Financier [130 yen]: Irregular shape, but tastes just as good as those from department store patisseries. Moist and almond-flavored, I loved it.
- Madeleine [130 yen]: Soft and simple, with no unnecessary ingredients. Irregular shape again, but incredibly delicious.
- Fruit Cake [price forgotten]: My mother loved it despite its appearance, praising its boozy and dense texture.
My number one choice is the cheesecake. I've been avoiding rich cheesecakes lately due to stomach issues, but this one was light and enjoyable. Not too sweet, with a bubbly texture that's addictive. The shop may seem old and unwelcoming, but once you taste the treats, you'll surely become a regular. On this day, I also purchased Mild Blend coffee beans from the nearby "Yamanaka Coffee" and enjoyed a relaxing coffee and cake session at home.
