Moving on to the cream puffs, they were generously filled with cream and had a satisfying weight to them. I visited in the early afternoon. I bought 1 piece of "choux cream" for 110 yen and a pack of 6. They used to be 100 yen each, but 110 yen is still a good deal. When I visited here to order a birthday cake for my beloved daughter dog, I couldn't help but buy a peach shortcake that was displayed in the showcase. It looked similar to the "Rikuro Ojisan" Momoko cake that I often buy, but it was about 20% cheaper here. As for the taste, while Momoko has sponge cake and whipped cream in the center, this one had custard cream and whipped cream, making the sweetness of the cream stand out. It's not about which one is better, but rather a matter of personal preference.

Matsuiyamayamate area is rapidly growing with new shops, making it hard to decide where to go. I decided to visit Jofuran. I bought a cream puff and a pound cake-like baked good. The cream puff was 103 yen each, with a simple cream filling inside nostalgic choux pastry. It was delicious. The baked goods were more filling than they looked, and one was enough for a snack. They were full of dried fruits and tasty. The cakes were cute and there were many varieties available right from the opening. The whole cakes were also very cute and reasonably priced.

The cream puffs are priced at 105 yen each, while the strawberry shortcake is 440 yen. There was a mistake with the price of the hot cafe au lait, which should have been 450 yen but was charged at 396 yen. This shop is a hidden gem, especially with Costco nearby. I stopped by after going to Costco. I went there with the intention of trying the snack plate that I had seen on Instagram, but it seemed like they weren't offering it that day. I informed them that I would be using the cafe, and I chose a cake from the showcase. There were many strawberry cakes due to the season, but I decided to go for something different and chose a pistachio cream cake. I had Assam tea straight, which was served in a pot so I could have two cups. The black tea was from a brand called Premium Tea and it was delicious! The cake was also undeniably delicious. I couldn't resist entering this lovely cafe - Jofuran in Matsuiyamate. On this day, I had a delicious lunch and pancakes at another cafe in Matsuiyamate. Satisfied, as I walked back, I came across this shop. The colorful flowers near the entrance and the castle-like brick building caught my attention, so I walked past but ended up going back in. While I initially thought of getting a cake to go, the cafe seemed like a relaxing space. It has a nice retro feel to it. Sitting by the window facing outside, you can see the terrace seats with a great view. The cake display area is separated, creating a calm atmosphere. Despite being full, I ended up ordering a small cake and tea. The Wind Hat cheesecake was moist and smooth, delicious. They even gave me a butter cookie as a sample. The Assam milk tea came in a pot and I was able to have about two and a half cups. It was a great deal. I spent about an hour reading and enjoying a leisurely time. When I messaged my friend about Jofuran, they recommended trying the cream puffs, but unfortunately, they were already sold out when I tried to get some to go. It seems the cream puffs are popular. I really liked Matsuiyamate, so I plan to come back soon. Next time, I will definitely get the cream puffs before leaving. Thank you for the meal.
