I revisited this restaurant because the food was so delicious last time. I ordered a sashimi assortment and a namul assortment. Even though they are not listed on the menu, they will make it for you if you request it, which is really nice. The yukhoe is tender and the sauce is delicious, with the sweetness of the meat spreading in your mouth. It was really delicious again today. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a Korean restaurant called "Tora no Ya". The kimchi assortment, bean sprout namul, and Chanja roll were delicious. The Bai clam, crispy beef, and the atmosphere of being loved by the locals stood out. The service was also good. It was a great restaurant.

A Korean restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Jujo Station on the subway. They have both counter and tatami seating options. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to dine. I enjoy dishes like steamed pork, Ulte's simmered dish, and Samgyetang (requires reservation). They also offer seasonal recommendations, such as cloud ear mushroom tempura which was delicious. They serve Makgeolli, a Korean rice wine, with Pucochi (green chili pepper) added for those who enjoy extra spiciness. Although it's a bit away from the bustling area, it's definitely worth a visit for a cozy and enjoyable dining experience.

I went to a restaurant known for its delicious Korean home-cooked dishes. Everything was really delicious, but my favorite was the assorted Namul and the Hormone Stew. They were spicy and went well with alcohol. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating Korean food and found a place nearby, so I decided to go there. There is no parking lot, but there is a coin parking lot next door. It would be nice if there was a parking lot because it's in a inconvenient location (lol). The next door is a famous yakiniku restaurant. The menu ranges from izakaya dishes to Korean food, making it a convenient place to eat. The Ulte stew was soft and just to my liking, but my friend found it lacking. I couldn't eat the kimchi hot pot because it was made with natto miso (T ^ T), but it seems like substitutions are possible. I think it's a good place for everyday dining. (^-^)

The restaurant offers a wide variety of Korean dishes as well as regular menu items. The food and atmosphere are quite enjoyable. My personal recommendations are the corn tempura and the chanja roll. These dishes are a must-try when you visit the restaurant. The corn tempura is surprisingly delicious and the chanja roll is a perfect match with any meal. It is simply fantastic as a main dish or side dish.

I've always wanted to visit this restaurant, and I'm glad they offer the Higashi-Kujo series. The restaurant is located just west of the Jujo Kawaramachi intersection on the north side, near "Jujo Hayashi" restaurant. It may seem confusing because the Jujo Kawaramachi intersection is a T-shaped intersection, but due to the extension of the Hankyu Kyoto Line, there is now a diagonal road connecting the intersection to the Kyusei Hashi Street (Kenzinbashi Kitazume). The restaurant is actually on Kujo Street, but the address is listed as Higashi-Kujo. Kyoto streets often have this discrepancy between the address and actual location.
I randomly stopped by around 10 pm. I wanted to try the "Chanja Maki" which is said to be the original here. Chanja is marinated cod stomach with chili peppers. This restaurant is known for their Chanja Maki, which I had to try as a fan of spicy food and Korean cuisine. The atmosphere was lively, with a counter seating area and a traditional Kyoto-style seating area at the back.
I ordered the "Pork Three-Layer Belly Chisha Set" since the steamed pork was sold out. The food was delicious, and the unique orange-colored sauce added a refreshing kick to the dish. The staff was friendly and engaging, making the experience enjoyable. They even served us additional dishes like stem seaweed sashimi, beef tripe in ponzu sauce, and a special pork lung pancake. The highlight was the Chanja Maki, which was simple yet incredibly flavorful. It had a unique texture that was a delightful surprise.
Overall, the restaurant offers a deep and rich dining experience, with a variety of dishes blending Japanese and Korean influences. It's definitely worth a repeat visit to explore more of their menu offerings.

When looking at reviews on Tabelog, it's often the case that there are few reviews for really delicious restaurants, while mediocre restaurants have a lot of reviews. This restaurant is no exception. I've been coming to this Korean restaurant in Kyoto for about 20 years now because I really like it. It's a bit of a shame that it's far from my house. If it were closer, I would definitely visit more often. It's a restaurant that is easy to use, almost like a casual izakaya. I always ask for extra Korean red chili peppers in my chijimi and ulte jjim. The original flavors are great, but for spicy food lovers like me, this place is irresistible. Finishing with chanja norimaki and the elegant tasting tteok with a flavorful broth is the best way to end the meal.

I often go here and visited at the end of the year as well (^人^) If you want to eat Korean food near Kyoto Station, this is the place to go! The Korean dishes are delicious, but the fish dishes and fried food are also excellent (⌒0⌒)/~~ They have space for parties, which is convenient. It's great that we can enjoy delicious food together at a reasonable price! And finally, the Chanja roll! This is of high quality that can't be beaten by any other Chanja rolls (^○^) The owner and the mama are friendly and welcoming. It's a great restaurant!

Introducing Tonnoya, a Korean restaurant located south of Kyoto Station. I started going there five years ago when a friend introduced me to this place in Kawaramachi-Tenjo. There is no parking lot, but there is a 100 yen parking lot on the west side of the restaurant. When you enter, there is a counter on the left, a raised tatami area on the right, and a seating area in front, so you can dine with various groups of people depending on your preference. In addition to Korean cuisine, the menu also includes a variety of Japanese dishes such as sashimi platters, and plenty of menu items that go well with alcohol. Highly recommended dishes include Ulte stew (950 yen), Samgyetang (2800 yen), and Chige hot pot (1000 yen). Samgyetang and Chige hot pot are perfect for this season, as they warm you up and have a sweating effect, making them ideal for the early stages of a cold. Overall, you can enjoy delicious dishes that are worth the price.

Before going, I had a fixed idea that Korean food is spicy!!!! But at Torano-ya, it was more like spicy and delicious. I recommend the steamed pork, Ulte, and Chanja roll, among others. They also have Japanese dishes on the menu, so you can enjoy a variety of meals. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming, so I had a fun and delicious experience when I went there for the first time. Now, I sometimes get takeout and enjoy the food at home. My recommendation is the Chanja roll. There were many other dishes, but I forgot their names...

I have been taken to a delicious Korean restaurant by an acquaintance and have been there several times. When I want to eat spicy or Korean food, I go to "Tora no Ya". The atmosphere is very cozy, and in addition to a wide variety of Korean dishes, they also serve Japanese dishes like sashimi and simmered dishes, so you can enjoy a little bit of everything. This place is said to be the birthplace of "Chanja-maki", where fresh Chanja is wrapped in Korean seaweed and rolled with warm rice, creating a perfect balance of spiciness that is very delicious. Another favorite of mine is the simmered pork, which is collagen-rich and can be enjoyed with kimchi on top, or dipped in the red sauce of Korean seasoning. When I go on weekends, the place is sometimes packed and I can't get in. The staff is friendly and it's an easy place for girls to visit together.

Located in the Korean town-like area of Higashi-Kujo in Kyoto, this restaurant offers authentic Korean cuisine. You can enjoy various Korean dishes such as Chanja rolls in a clean and cozy setting. It is a popular spot for celebrities and athletes to dine incognito.
